I agree with Margaret. Christians shouldn't hate homosexuals. Homosexuals are people and God loves people. He sent His Son to die for them. What Christians should hate is homosexuality which is a lifestyle. God explicitly states this in Leviticus 18:22. So hate the lifestyle not the people.

but it also says in the bible "a man should not lie with a man as one lies with a woman. that is detestable" which i think is more direct than "what goes into a man's mouth does not make him unclean". i love you margaret, but the bible most definitely is against gay people, and the way people interpret the bible in the favor of homophobes may be for their own agenda, but if the bible didn't have bits against homosexuality to begin with, so much of the anti gay argument would not be bible based.

So I'm doing exactly what the Bible said even when I didn't plan to. If I were to force myself to perform straight sex with a woman, then I would have gone against that phrase.

@ClaudYeung i am bisexual, and i also would not lie with a man as i would with a woman, for a different reason of course. but my main point in my original comment is that the bible is against gay people and supports phobias against everything not laid out in the bible. thankfully there are people who think the bible is open to interpretation, but unfortunately there are also people who use it to support their own hate-based agendas. to be clear, i was not advocating the bible in any way.

These ideas are just labels. "Gay, straight, bi, femme, butch" are different descriptions of your outward appearance in the lgbtq community.

You have to live life and find out for yourself if you want a label or if you will just be yourself. I choose to call myself a dyke because it's still a loaded word and it is just a way for me to reclaim it.
