I downloaded this because I was interested in space sims..This one looks good though, although my opinions on graphics...you really don't care how they look no matter how beautiful after playing/running it a few times..
i have stars, in ur vid there are no stars, i have the pioneer 17, please help, and the finish of the planets are not as good as yours, really need your help
ok i may sound like an idiot, but theres only, planet detail, city detail, and planet textures, there on full but not like on your video, i have no idea..maybe my computer isnt as good, dont know, but thanks
i like eve online so much more only one ting i dis like on the game thats after 14 days you need pay to contineu but its realy on based real thats the best game ever build
There's an actual better, more realistic (physic wise) space sim called Evochron Mercenary, procedural planets and unlimited space, combat, trade and better graphics.
@Barrick11811 Evochron more realistic? Are you mad? Do you know about Newton and Eisntein? From their own wiki: "The Newtonian physics were adjusted to a more manageable system by player request."
How do you travel to a planet? I seem to hold 'I' to speed towards them, but I just fly past into deep space. How do you actually come out of hyperspace and travel to a planet?
@drenwickscreenarts Did you check your relitive velocity? I used to play frontier alot, and anything over a few klicks per second when approaching a world was suicide.
I never played Elite, but I was looking for a newer space exploration game similar to Star Control 2 but in 3d and I found this - I must say it looks VERY promising!!! I can't wait for the evil aliens and weapon systems to add to the mmosrpg. I might go check this out anyhow cause it looks awesome so far. Great job, can't wait for the final. :)
@PICLex I first got my hands on Frontier. After that, being spoiled with newtonian flight, gravity slingshots and the possibility to land on planets, Elite seems very limited and not interesting at all.
Fair enough i just didn't like the combat at all. I'm constantly trying to come up with a system that can work on such large scales(speed/distance), aint easy!
@PICLex True, combat is a problem. In Elite 2 & 3 using the beam lasers it was doable, the pulse lasers were a pain. Pioneer however uses slow moving balistics and those are extremely horrible. I really hope they're gonna drop those.
@flexyco Don't worry it will all be balanced when the time comes. We have to at least leave some feature for you guys to look forward to on release ;)
i really want to play this game but i just cant get it to run :( it loads saying 5 billion years upto 15 billion years then crashes saying my graphics card stops working. Shame because i can play Eve online and Battlestar Galactica online fine. Ill wait for a new build perhaps.
@3dkiller I just love how people like you make uneducated comments about something you do no really understand. Why this, Try find a ps1 or ps3 game that generates an entire surface of a planet. Pioneer does this for houndreds, if not thousands of worlds... my old man used to say, if you got nothing positive to say, you better be say nothing at all..
@DennisThonyPedersen Try Billions.. ;) We have roughly a billion stars, as the galaxy is rather flat, but each of those stars can have rather a lot of bodies in orbit, sometimes up to 60 or 70...
@nado2s Actually, even our system, which is a relatively small system, has thousands of orbiting bodies that are half the size of the moon or bigger. Most of which are around the asteroid belts, one near Mars, one where Pluto is. Tons of places to explore just here in our own little system. Who knows what kind of resources we have just waiting for us to exploit, eh?
@MyFavorites791: I was talking about in Pioneer ;) In *our* galaxy there are more like up to 100 billion suns, each with perhaps up to millions of bodies of their own :) But Pioneer's galaxy is rather flat by comparison.
@nado2s Hah, indeed. Most surfaces wouldn't be worth exploiting with current technology, though, so... more like thousands that matter, haha. Pioneer looks good, but I am never expecting much out of it. Bit like that... Infinite, is it called? The MMO that has the same basic premise. Space gamers need to have a keen eye where they should hype and where they should not, or it is the most absolutely disappointing genre to be apart of, haha.
How fcking breake ???!!!!!!! thats good gam but stupid speed settings!! hard to fly that ship
