i just went there tonight to check it out and someone cut a few of the big branches that they used to do the lynching from clean off. the grass has grown to be about 3 feet tall and right across the street is a new development full of multi-million dollar homes. also it was pitch black outside (around 11:00pm) so finding the heat rock was damn near impossible. best time to go is when there's snow on the ground, just be careful on that road at night, it's super curvy and tons of deer.

Its called the Devils Tree because, slaves used to hang off of it and they would just hang there. When you are near the tree a black pickup tree is supposed to follow you and then disapear after a while.
