Hi , do you have the cameras on continuous record or just on motion activated?

@kashmiri911 I had motion sensing at night and continuous during the day. You can also have the motion sensing exclude portions of the screen, like a block with a tree swaying in the wind that would otherwise keep setting it off.

GLAD to hear you got the bikes back. We've had enough here! We've lived here 6 years and in that time had things stolen 5 times (bike, chain saw and weed eater, 5 gallon gas tank, full tool chest and most recently they got into our car. That was the last straw! Through the years we put in a large privacy fence and have a 24/7 home security system. NOW we just purchased a system like this. Also 4 outside flood lights to put around the house. NO MORE!

- Is the quality a little better than that to help the cops get whoever stole the bikes?

-I saw that you found the bikes again but did you manage to find the kids who took it?

-How difficult was the setup for the cameras? Are they safe to be placed outside?

-Can you move the cameras remotely or they just stay the same angle?

If your wanting to build a DVR surveillance system I would recommend you use a 1 TB hard drive.

I have 6 cameras running 24/7 for 28 days straight recording to a 1 TB hard drive. At the 28 day point the system starts to record over what it recorded on day 1.

I also used a small stainless steel box to put the door bell button in along with a hidden bullet camera with a built in mic.

As you saw in this video you never know when something will happen and its to your advantage to record it.

So this system was worth the money. Costco is selling a 16 channel with 8 camera's. Would you recommend the Q-see system?

Yes, I recommend. I've had no issues with it. Just leave it on and let it do its thing. I think that mine records a few days worth of continuous activity on all 4 cams. You can change a lot of settings such as motion sensing (with defined zones if you want), frame rate, etc. Make sure you get one with network capability so you can monitor from your PC; one of the best features in my opinion.

I saw that, except now it's 16 cameras with 16-channel DVR for $900. But they're wired and I'd rather go wireless.
