  • This song has forced me to write the novel. I listened to it on repeat while was writing for 4 months.

  • these visuals go so well with the tune. boc are untouchable

  • Classic lighting of a cigarette at about 1:48

  • This track is life itself.

  • Their music reminds me of a Polaroid picture.

  • BoC is a chance for the current generation who grew up digital to experience the analog sounds of previous generations including my own.

  • @EdinMovingPictures Do you remember the name or the URL of the original Video you used?

  • @em295 i used archive.org/details/Flyingwi1953 most boards vids used prelinger archives anything with a kodachrome vibe - i used this because i had to do a song no one had done yet - some of my favourites had already been done like constants, farewell and horizon - corsair to me was a song i would enjoy most when flying, so the video was boards perfect - turning the engines off/smoking in the cockpit/cheeky smiles, i wish it had more cloud scenes tho cos it would of just been that

  • listening to this evokes memories of being young and lying out on the grass in the summer, when the days were endless, just silence, the birds tweeting and the noise of a plane taking off from nearby glasgow airport. To create this imagery, nostalgia and atmosphere and compress it into one song is nothing short of genius.

  • @TyRYANasaurus exactly my thoughts aswell. definitely one of my faves.

  • corsair is old

  • @flutterbunny shut up bithc

  • this song reminds me a little of Between the Buried and Me - Reaction

  • overrated

  • @smokedog901

Nostalgia's not what it used to be

  • @woolysammoth69 I know you're making a pun but what you said is so true. I don't get nostalgic anymore, if I do - very rarely. It's like, in the past one was so restricted in re-visiting their past - we had photographs sure, but now with the internet and instant global communication everything is available at your finger tips; old music, old tv shows and advertisisments, old games can be downloaded and will work straight away. Good food for thought, thanks.

  • Sunsets with golden and red-tipped bottoms of clouds over a lake. That's Corsair.

  • I think of giant chicken wings with medievil helmets. They are our new masters in my thinkings.

  • this is why we have doors between rooms

  • The more I listen to BoC, the more I love their music.

  • This will be played at my funeral. Time just stops whenever I hear it

  • this song is magic. it used to sound to me of airplanes in the sky, now like hearing a vacuum in the other room

  • Love this song!!

  • dialogue during 1:17:

"captain, we've seem to loss all engines"

captain: "i dont give a fuck as long as im listening to boards of canada"

  • Definitely makes me home sick. Those summer days when I was 12 and I had the whole world in my hands. Circling the pool with my neighbors and talking about nothing for hours and hours.

  • BoC just makes me want to go back in time and live in the 60's and 70's

  • This track is pure raw emotion. Nuff said.

  • My neighbor's leafblower sounds like this from far away. It is the best leafblower in existence.

  • This song is so powerful, yet so simple. It reminds me of "life flashing before your eyes" when the end is near. I see myself as a child, running through tall grass fields, with the whitest of sunshine blinding me. This song to me, is like last minutes on earth, recapping all the vivid yet hazy memories, in a good way, and knowing that death is another level of life. Boards of Canada have changed my life for the better, and have had such an impact on my memories, making them reality once again.

  • Boards of Canada

  • this song always gives me the vision of me climbing a snow-covered mountain in sub-zero temperatures with the sun vibrantly beaming and all I can hear up there is the silent hush of the wind while I acknowledge that up there, it is only me and nature. time is frozen at the top of the mountain as I look down the white landscape.

  • good idea @xkluziv1

  • Great video, great song!

  • This is one of their best ever. How the f&^% do they do it???

The vid is hilarious too: three engines out and the pilots are mugging for the camera, lighting up a smoke... "Say, Sammy, when I'm about to crash and burn, there's nothing like the smooth, refreshing taste of a Pall Mall, don't you think?"

"That's right, Captain Bob! And the fact that they're filter-free means you don't miss any of that rich, Pall Mall flavor! Now, what say we set 'er down in that cow pasture over there??"

  • @deino117 They speak to the divine, and the divine speaks through them.

  • This is one of their best ever. How the f&^% do they do it???

  • This is a song? I thought there was something wrong with my speakers!

  • For me this song evokes feelings of emergence, awakening, and conclusion...A suburban family opening the bomb shelter door after ages underground solemnly looking out upon the barren wasteland that was once their home...

  • There's something other-worldly about the mood of this piece.... I feel almost transported into another environment, another reality.... and, if I don't open my eyes, I can almost start to see that place coming into sight.... BoC aren't just musicians...

  • @hier0phant Jesus Didnt write this. Its more likely that the brothers sold their souls to the devil.

  • I was planning on making a video of a flight through the clouds set to this song. I'm glad you saved me the time : ). I like to think of the song title as "Coarse Air", rather than Corsair.

  • This song provides assumption that death cannot always be a horrible thing.

  • @DemBeatle I don't know. I seriously doubt dying is pleasant. More likely, it's a horrible, gasping struggle until the end, and then it's just lights out. No choir of angels.

  • To me, this song sounds more optimistic than depressing, because it's such a change from the rest of the album, it sounds more peaceful and organic, so it might symbolise the end of a tough journey.

  • my computer is an ancient relic rediscovered by aliens

  • Damn, everytime I listen to a BOC track it's like I crossed another dimension of the physical realm. A truly spiritual experience listening to BOC.

  • In case anyone's curious, I think the video used here was from a film called "Flying with Arthur Godfrey".

  • I'm surprised everybody is saying this song is depressing. I feel so upbeat, but at the same time relaxed, when listening to it.

  • OMG when i listen to this song, the concentration about just the sound makes me think of depression and love and the unknown... its amazing.. I LOVE NOSTALGIA !!!

who feels the same way ??

  • @smokedog901 Whow me.. Depression, love and the unknown exactly those actually....

  • @smokedog901

I do ! None of my friends share my interest in nostalgia though :(

  • @smokedog901 I don't think nostalgia means what you think it means.

  • @smokedog901 to experience nostalgia you must experience the original form of it to begin with, this isn't nostalgia if you weren't old enough to remember it in the 70's/80's. if that's the case then it's not nostalgia, it's retro.

either way it's fucking awesome. This has to be one of my favorite BoC tracks ever. rock this at sunset on a lit-up sky. It's amazing.

  • @jdoggybizzle He meant this song gives him a sense of nostalgia. retro is an out of date style. It seems that alot of people get a sense of nostalgia when listening to BoC. That is what makes them such an original band. Its like they are masters of getting into your sub-concious with music.

  • Most depressive song ever.

  • More of a light at the end of the tunnel. But I feel the same way, pitch black, floating, wind all around you. Could be depressing, could be your spirit being reborn...

  • Yeah. For me depression paradoxically always carries with it the seeds of transcendence. Whether that transcendence takes the form of physical suicide or egoic suicide is up to each individual to find out. May all beings find the latter.

  • airplane is a super constellation - nice song super boc !!!!!!!

  • This song is awesome.

  • your eyes
