Hy.I'm sorry I didn't answer you more quickly, but I was not at home.mitmirit,I had pretty much the same problem but i really don;t now how I solved it.I noticed that it is faster is the focusing is ONE SHOT than AI SERVO, and when you want it to be fast , make sure the exposure time is set to 1/500 or quicker.I am using a SanDisk Extreme III 30mb/s or 200x SDHC card, which is probably the most expensive 4gb SD card i could get in Romania(about 40 euros)
speed doesnt depend on the memory card. that depends on the camera's processor. on this camera (canon 450d) there is a DIGIC III processor which is very fast. depends on the camera u have i guess.
@mitmirit check in your camera that option number 4 (reduce noisy on high sensibility) of the custom settings is not enabled. Then you should be able to shoot @ 3.5 FPS
my 7D gos way faster than that!!!!

it shoots in RAW as fast as in JPEG..:P

@ixKiiNGz but the quality is a bit lower :).. since last year i've been testing.. i have a 40D now.. and I saw the difference RAW/JPEG

what kind of memory card you hawe ? i`m using Transcend SD hc 4 gb class 6 and it`s way slower first 2 shots its fine . after that wery slow ..

ir does to a cartain extend if the card cant write away fast enough onto the card the camera will slow down.
