  • At least when spring comes they roar back again.

I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

(I think I made you up inside my head.)"

  • It DOES kind of sound like Sylvia Plath (whose work I quite enjoy)! I feel like I've read it before, but I can't think when or how. Good pick, though.

  • "mad girl's love song".

I loved reading it because it has a rhythm to its self.

  • I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane. (I think I made you up inside my head.) God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade: Exit seraphim and Satan's men: I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead. I fancied you'd return the way you said, But I grow old and I forget your name. (I think I made you up inside my head.) I should have loved a thunderbird instead; At least when spring comes they roar back again.
  • Purples eyes are pretty if they come from random poem vlogs.

This entry reminds me of Sylvia Plath (but not in a bad way:

    "I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;

I lift my lids and all is born again.

(I think I made you up inside my head.)

The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,

    And arbitrary blackness gallops in:

I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.

    ...

  • Just bought 'Oh My God' off iTunes. That should keep the copyright Nazis at bay - using the song on a video resulted in increased sales!

Laughing(ish) because I forgot which video of yours the music was on, so where I should leave the comment. Glad I started at oldest first!

  • Woo hoo, I've sold out to commercialism! Except not really.

  • I think there was a Korn song in response to a fan's accusation that they had sold out. Their response was that they had sold out long before this guy had ever heard of them, and it was what allowed them to make records.

Um, I think to sell out, you have to get some money from the transaction! I'm sure Kaiser Chiefs will give you a cut of the A$1.69!

  • Haha, that's pretty amusing. Korn is quite the commercial band, so that makes sense. Meh, Korn.

Indeed, that's true. I don't mind promoting bands I like for free, though; why should it matter if I use their music as long as I credit them? It's publicity, fa gawd's sake.

  • Yeah, I totally agree. I actually emailed the Australian organisation that licences music to see if it was possible to do it legally and how much the licence was - they never replied. I think if I've paid for it, and I'm not just file sharing, this is fair dealing. The lawyers disagree. Yes - publicity.

Yeah, Korn, a bit shouty - I have to be in the right mind-set.

  • Ooh, let me see - anapaestic tetrameter?

Hee hee! Squirrel! We don't have them here, so you can spot the Australians in Central Park, because they're standing still, staring at the squirrels!

Haven't heard the outro song before - great choice!

  • Wow...I don't know, but good job if you've gotten that correctly.

YOU DON"T HAVE SQUIRRELS?? Wow. I thought that squirrels lived EVERYwhere, like pigeons. And rats.

Yeah, I enjoy the Kaiser Chiefs - they're a fun British band.

  • Just back from listening to the full song (and getting into a punctuation dispute with one of my subs on your 100 Subs video!) LOL sooo much!

I think it's right. I was discussing stuff like that with TheRavenOfPoe recently, and am _trying_ to get it to stick in my brain.

LOL! No, closest we have is possums. Pigeons - check. Rats - check. We find squirrels adorable, rather than the bushy-tailed rats that most locals think they are.

Oh, and our swans are black.

  • Oh, I didn't see that!...well, now I've participated, haha.

She sounds like quite an intellectual herself.

Well, squirrels are kind of cute, they just also happen to be omnipresent omnivores...

Black Swans? Woah...Australia really IS the reverse of just about everything! Haha

  • Yeah! Reverse-o world! It's like living in an episode of Sliders! Wiki 'Black Swan' for pictures.

She's really cool. We PM loads. She lives in the same city as me, but we haven't met up for obvious general principle internet security reasons.

LOL! As long as they're not omniscient omnivores!

  • Sliders? Question mark?

Haha...yeah, that makes sense. That's cool, though!

Indeed. Then they would probably take over the world.

  • Oh, sorry - a TV show from the late 90's where they jump between parallel worlds where almost everything is the same, but one or two things are different. A simple plot device.

Yeah, we're very much on the same wavelength, but there's something slightly sketchy about meeting up considering the 16 year age gap. I'm sure we will eventually along the line. I don't think either of us are wierdos.

  • Ooh, cool. Somewhat like the worlds in "His Dark Materials".

Indeed. A logical conclusion. You seem pretty un-creepy, as far as I can tell. And there's an 18-year gap between you and me.

  • Yeah, but you never can tell off the net. I think it's a good general rule.

The good thing about YT is you get a good feel for people when you watch their videos. I was thinking about it today as a possible topic - it's like 'try before you buy' friends!

LOL! I checked out your Stickam profile earlier and burst out laughing at the 'over 30 sketchy sketchy' comment!!

Similar concept to HDM, but it's basically the same city every time.

  • No, I agree, I'm just saying.

It's true! Except when people have nothing, and then it's still a bit dodgy...

Well, yeah...people start to ask, and it sucks...no offense to the GENERAL population of people over 30, of course.

    Interesting...

  • Oh, I wasn't disagreeing with you at all.

Yeah, a grey icon isn't that inviting. That's why haters surprise me so much - we all have to live here.

Really? People can be such dicks. What do they THINK is going to happen? None taken. ;)

Yeah, I watched Series 1 & 2 on DVD this year, and coincidentally bought Series 3 today, because 4 weeks in Germany with no TV screams 'bring DVDs!'

  • Haters = GAH. I've only had 2 so far though, and they've both gone away quickly. So woo-hoo to that.

Yeah, really. It's because lots of people base their expectations on entertainers and fake representations of what actual people (in this case, read women) should be like.

Series 1 & 2? of His Dark Materials? I've only ever read the books...

  • I've been OK so far due to small exposure, but on my last video I kept a section separate in a private video for a small group of subs, just because I know the haters will eventually show up.

Yeah, that whole attitude freaks me out though. I wonder what these people are like in the real world?

Sorry - of Sliders. LOL! The Golden Compass (Northern Lights) was apparently released on film this week in the US!

  • Personally, I don't mind the haters too much. They're a source of variety, and I do my best to respond with some evil wit to whatever they say. It's fun.

    I know! Fakeness = yuck.

Oh, I get it. Yeah, it's out now, but...meh...books are better. I don't know.

  • Yes! Books ftw! I just bought a bunch of classics today, because having the nearest English language bookstore being in England will force me to read them. Last time I was in Germany I went through a huge stack of books.

I think it's bedtime for me in a sec. 2:30 AM seems a reasonable time to quit...

  • I always read a lot during travels...

  • Yeah, my girlfriend doesn't have a TV, and when I was there last she didn't have the internet on yet, so it narrowed down the options.

This time, the net's on, and I'm on YT, so it may be different, but I'm keen to see how I get on with some heavier stuff.

  • It's a good way to get oneself better informed and better read. Less to do = more time to do reading and such.

Yeah, not making sense anymore. Sorry.

  • Made sense to me!

I see a couch, cups of tea, big books, snow outside, and no possibility of there being anything constructive I can do. YAY!

  • Hah, indeed.

Better than the internet...which unfortunately often ends up being the priority lately...

  • Especially if they were also omnipotent.

  • LOL! God-squirrels!

Imagine them in their golden, silk-lined trees creating nuts out of thin air, watching endless re-runs of Rocky & Bullwinkle cartoons...

  • HAHAHA

    Oh man.

If I was a cartoonist, I would SO make that vision into an animation.

  • OK - can't stop laughing! If only my random talent with words translated into a solid talent with pictures...

The great thing is that for the rest of your life, that image is going to be stuck in some corner of your head, and you're NEVER going to be able to explain it to anyone!

  • Haha...yes...squirrels as Rulers of the Earth...you have made your way into my subconscious, congratulations.

  • LOL! Maybe that's why you're so random (your words not mine.) What's going on in your head makes prefect sense, but because noone else has been exposed to the same stuff you have, they can't understand it!

  • Yesyes.

    But randomness is great.

  • Damn straight!

  • very interesting idea. Your rhymes flow fairly well

  • Why thank you.

  • Great idea and perfectly executed! =)

  • Thanks very much!

That's quite nice of you to say.

  • Oh, I'm sorry that you feel the need to insult me to feel better about yourself.

I've never worked at Arby's, and in fact I'm quite pleased with my face.

Moreover, I'd like to see YOU come up with a random poem before saying something like that about another person's creative effort.

But I doubt you could, considering your poor sentence structure.

First time I've heard of someone "farting bath soap", as well. Don't you think that's a little strange? Might want to get that checked out.

  • wow, you, "LONELYFAN" really must be a lonely insecure shithead. go get laid you pathetic lameass. if you dont like it, watch something else.
