  • A PICTURE? what are you talking about? did you email me any pictures?

    i did not receive them.

wait...a picture of an opinion with 0 as the value...

Is that the derivative d/dx of a function of my inductive reasoning where y=0 ...

because d/dx of a inductive argument A(x) is not a fact, but an opinion, since the chain rule of opinions together leading to a cohesive conclusion is an inductive argument. d/dx at any point, is the instantaneous solution of that opinion in the set, right?

  • @jackhammer10101 How uhh...how has anything you've ever said been relevant to anything? At all?

  • @DrmrGuy1979

and past day instructors at SCV, Cadets, Impulse, Pacific Crest,VK etc...

hit me up..if you want a FULL resume of my life story....i am going to write a volume of books in my autobiography, next year, on my agents advice, because you know, one, two or three books won't even cover half my life...why you need a whole encyclopedia just to understand my 7th and 8th grade cross country championships !!!

  • @DrmrGuy1979

EXACTLY !!! i live in Los Angeles !!! ...and i took film school classes at LACC in Hollywood and UCLA cinematography with Francis Kenny (Heathers,New Jack City,Scary Movie)

....I also was the editor at a Media Intelligence Firm (TES) where Tom Cruise personally read my edited Traler analysis reports for his movie MI3...

i can drop more names, if you want.....Oh woops, i forgot to cite my brother who got a ring in 1993 from Cadets and is best friends with present day instructors

  • @DrmrGuy1979

Are You Happy Now? I dropped some names and cited my brother to make my opinion more relevant...

  • @DrmrGuy1979

THATS because My Brother and I marched WITH Jeff in 1991 VK !!!

then he made SCV in 1992 and my brother went to Cadets and i stayed at VK with Tom Float !!!

    Plus, i complain about 21st century drumlines....NOT with 70s, 80s and 90s...

  • @bbub123 wow are you joking? That's awesome! How is he as a private instructor?

  • Rofl! John Crichton from Farscape

  • @ThePutasfever

No, i dont think so... he looks more like Colonel Cam Mitchell from Stargate SG-1.

  • Come on Jeff...you are gripping the sticks too tight....the Gruber method of this version is MORE efficient with a looser grip...

  • Jim Chapin's student!! Jim RIP

  • dude jeff queen teaches at my school and i take private lessons with him!!!!!!!!

  • nice^^

  • did anyone else jizz when is hands moved at the speed of light...

  • is the moller technique better for tradiotional style or match grip?

  • Whichever is comfortable for you. It can be done both ways.

  • SO EXCITED i get to go see a clinic and Jeff Queen is teaching it!

  • this place looks and sounds like a castle...

  • He looks like that jackass from the Scary Movie 1, who wanted to dump the body in the river

  • I met Jeff this weekend at the Scouts camp. Hes both the best player and the biggest cocky asshole you will ever meet. He made chuck norris jokes about himself.

  • @scorch0012 haha thats hilarious

  • I really recommend Jojo Mayer's "Secret weapons for the Modern Drummer" it explains Moeller way better than this douchebag...

  • love the moeller method. great techinique for a guy like me who needs a little extra power when playing

  • that snare sounds unbelievable. maybe its just me. idk.

  • @MrAlabamaBoy91 The sound quality might render it, but yeah, it has a pretty nice sound to it

  • been really having alot of problems learning this properly. so i've decided to start over again, learning the basic movements, doing it stupidly slow. and this video in particular is really really helping me understand the movements/whipping motion alot better!!

  • its funny how all the drummers try and act cool after playing as fast as they can lol

  • ...you idiots leaving comments aren't even paying attention. no wonder your drumming sucks.

  • he looks like a dumb ass when hes going slow

  • Jim Chapin explains a lot better then Jeff I think

  • It's one note allowing for two bounces after it. The harder u whip the louder the bounces will be he doesn't explain it well. Get jojo mayers DVD.

  • Florida A&M's drumline uses Moeller method. It looks really nice and flashy when watching them play from a distance.

  • @10akee yeah but this looks sloppy though....we dont play like this....but jeff queen is still beast

  • Is he in the Banished Cave?!

  • i love his drum

  • completely unhelpful. he's only doing the whip stroke when he is going slow

  • i wish i can understand how just hitting a whip gets you to be faster, when you are still hitting 2 single notes next to each other.

  • @xDrumsx4xLifex the two second notes are not played. They are just a product of the intial "whip" so your only really playing one accented note, allowing you play really fast.

  • his snare sounds so good, i want mine to sound like that :(

  • @rollinfever15 them snares are for marching,

  • @BoxOfdeadBabies yah i know and i have a marching snare

  • can you do moeller technique in quadruplets? which beats do you accent in quadruplets?

  • moeller may be efficient, but I don't think it sounds very good. Either that or he wasn't playing his singles evenly, which wouldn't surprise me...

  • he totally wasnt. check jim chapin

  • Is the sticking always RLR LRL aleternating singles or does it turn into 3 strokes per hand before switching hands?????

  • The sticking stays alternating

  • @alloneword154 All single strokes.

  • i find it wierd how drumming video take place in the most randomest places in the world xD

  • why is he in a dungeon? haha

    good video though

  • @Cadence55 hahahahahaha he really is in a dungeon!!! LOL

  • yeah wtf dungeon

  • hes in a dungeon because the acustics in a brick wall dungeon are really good, so it makes his snare sound really good.

  • ahahahahahah! it's true... XD

  • @Cadence55 that's how he got so good, they locked him in there and there was nothing else to do but practice

  • i do that without knowing it LOL

  • Yer, I know what you mean..

  • mmmm molleur technique is the only technique for me haha

  • i cant learn can you give some tips

  • well i just kinda did it without realizing it i mean it just seems like i lift up my elbow and bend my wrist donward slightly and when i hit the drum it kind of reverses like a wave motion and you just have to practice gettin ur motions smaller like the guy does in the video

  • well i guess instead of leading the stroke with the stick you might try leading it with the wrist, creating somewhat of a whip motion

  • how come all the drummers i saw that are doing the moeller tech. always use the traditional grip?

  • JIm Chapin would always teach it match grip. Check his Dvd that will help.

Chewieman you know what your talking about!

    G.

  • toolmantaylor

The moeller was developed from trad grip, which came from marching snare drummers.

  • it's a tradition

  • coz they show the way for doing it for both grips

  • lol 0:00 - 0:04 just keep repeating it

  • i dont get it

  • I got it! hahahaha

  • it's jeff fuckin queen man, come on

  • why?

  • Yes it does!

  • this sounds like garbage

  • His elbow is sticking out that is wrong. If you think I'm wrong Check Vinnie and Jim Chapin!

  • you're a fucking moron.

  • Interesting choice of words. I think you should have a look at the history of the Moller book by Stanford Moller you might see why then. Also it is worth remembering that Chapin was mollers best student and went on to teach many of the best drummers in the world today who may have influenced you.

JIm Queen is a great drummer but like many of the moller DVDs that are out, he misses bits (the important bits).

  • Jeff..Queen...

  • Sorry the only person I know of who can teach moller correctly is Jim Chapin. although Jeff is a great drummer, he misses important bits out while explaining moller. It may look very simple but there is so much to it and it is very easy to learn wrong. The technique requires lots of study and time on your part and to maintain it. I'm really sick of seeing people show moller wrong on Youtube as as it is miss information that will end up holding you back!

  • There's no such thing as doing something wrong. Maybe he does it differently than you're used to seeing, but that doesn't mean it's wrong.

  • Yes it does, if you Moller wrong your at risk of damaging your tendons over time. I bet you hold the stick from the front of the hand as well ThedigitalMonk?

  • There is nothing wrong with holding the stick at the front of the hand. It all has to deal with how hard you hold it.

  • if you honestly think the fulcrum is in the back of your you need to stop twelling people how to drum

  • One good reason for holding the stick from the back of the hand is you can only make type of sound, an uncontrolled one. Plus if you do hold from the front of the hand you'll end up with blisters on the thumb and first finger and you run the risk of Carpal-tunnel syndrome. While this might be happening. You will be minimizing the amount of control you have on the stick. It will be harder for you to change volume in a beat and get a constant sound on what ever drum and cymbal you play!

  • you're absolutely right. if you wanna learn moeller right look at jim chapin. queen is a great player but he is doing what chapin stresses is wrong, which is at :57 when he flips his entire left arm in the whip motion. if you think its wrong then oh well. just keep in mind Chapin is the last remaining student of Mr. Moeller.

  • well he died now... lol

  • prick

  • wtf man? they were refering to him as he is.. and not was. that wasent disrespectful ballbag.

  • I think he is a great drummer! but I think he's been looking at the photos in the moller book to much evan moller said himself that the book is wrong! moving a stick round your head is no way an economy of movement. Just look at Jim Chapin and see if he does the same and he has masted this technique!!!

  • All this guy shows in this clip is absolutely perfect.

  • Excellent training Vid. Covers the matter extremely effeciently and very well described. I haven't even begun to be able to understand how to incorporate the moeller technique into my drumming, but I think that has changed with this video.

Whip motion, concentrate on the accented notes, tighten it right up, eliminating all but the necessary motions for the technique and whallah, moeller speed technique to alleviate fatigue and offer life to your limbs... THANK YOU!

  • sure that guy is

he has a nice snare too

  • i dont mean to brag but hes the marching band percussion teacher in my school

  • dude. lucky

  • not bashing or nothin but i heard from lots of peeps that he is a douche

  • He may not seem like the nicest guy but he sure as hell knows what he is talking about when it comes to snare drumming.

  • jeff queen is? what school?

  • avon high

  • Does your arm move like that or does it move up and down????

  • that awesomely awesome guy is awesomely awesome! and his hand's like GOSH!!! effing fast.

  • It's hilarious on this DVD when He gets on the kit..

  • Listen to the taps after the accents about mid way into the excels. Is the first tap after a little late causing it to sound like this? O ooO ooO ooO oo O ooO ooO ooO oo. Play some triplets along with him to check the timing. Other than that it pretty cool.

  • Bwahaha, Yeah Right. Jeff Queen is one of the best players to ever pick up a pair of sticks.

  • are u fucking kidding???

he is the last person i would call sloppy

  • I would like to see you go up against him since you think you know what is sloppy and bad

  • Jeff Queen is the truth!

  • hahaha i like that... "Jeff Queen is the truth"

  • Lol this is so weird because I take private lessons from this guy, and he just seems like a regular guy but to you he's like a god to you

  • your so fucking lucky man

  • That's about 11 notes per second per hand at the fastest parts, as far as I can tell -- 22 notes per second, then.

  • bill bachman does a better job at explaining moeller.

  • Moeller's wasteful, pre-Civil War camp duty mentality never transfered from his Charles Dickerson fife and drum corps, inefficient at faster march tempos - extinct. The last two notes of a Moeller triplet are guesses. His accents waste enormoustime and energy, reducing rebound control. Jim Chapin displays these flaws perfectly. Queen's comments are waste basket material. There is no "easy" way to "play fast." It involves bone angles, weight and grip strength. Anything else is an excuse.

  • yea that's great... only, moeller really works. so what's your point? the last two notes of a moeller triplet or only guesses if you dont know what you're doing. a big part of moeller is learning how to control rebound, not get better at guessing.

  • make that or an are :) didnt proof-read

  • he said to concentrate on the accents. moeller allows you to play accents at faster tempos without using wrist to bring the stick up from the lower height. it puts no strain on wrist muscles and takes less energy to play since it involves a wipping motion from the forearms. how is that not a better way to play fast rudiments?

  • "His accents waste enormous time" Isn't that statement extreme? Can you provide an exact amount? Is it like an hour between strokes? That would be enormous. Bottom line Moeller works, people use it, it is not a shortcut!

  • NICEEEEE

  • that is awsome

  • first thats the secret for them inverts isnt it? secondley how do you still keep it THAT legato when you have to keep your inner beats at like a dci 3 inch. (more like 1 inch.)

  • FINALLY ... someone OTHER than Chapin doing Moeller correctly on YouTube. It's not a "bounce," "press" or "buzz" roll (one hit plus rebounds), it's three distinct wrist movements: A whip plus two flickers. Most people just cheat by playing the whip and then letting the stick bounce, which makes for incredibly limited/repetitive dynamics (hard-soft-soft). This way, the CORRECT way, gives you far more control and variety. This is REAL technique ... it's not easy to do.

  • look up FRANK BELLUCCI

  • It's not completely correct.

And actually, it IS supposed to be one whip and two bounces. "Controlled Rebounds"

And He has alot of unnecesarry[sp] extra motion that has no real purpose, and makes it look sloppy-ier.

Alot of people I know have misconceptions that Moeller-whip is very loose and sloppy, and he's not helping the arguement against it.

  • In my opinion, letting the stick flop around on the head after the whip is sloppy relative to actually controlling the stick with your hands and wrists as he does here.

  • Sometimes you gotta forget everything you've been taught

  • that was Hyffy

  • thigt
