can someone please tell me how to put games on the c64 emu for the wii and how to run them please i got back to skool rom or as the americans call it skool daze for commodore 64 its the mutt's nuts of a game
I agree on the "buy a Saturn" part but we also must respect those guys who spend their time coding emulators. In this case it's only a matter of finding out how a wii console could handle Saturn emulation (a "proof of concept" it's called).
It's taken a long time since I tried the emulator last time. Probably it will but the framerate its going to be so low. Sadly Wii is not powerful enough to achieve good emulation speeds when dealing with Saturn, at least for many games and meanwhile it is not using a dynamic recompiler.
Saturn emulation on Wii is "still" experimental and far from usable. I haven't tested Sonic Jam but I doubt it even runs. Being quite optimistic maybe in a future (by means of dynamic recompilation) could be a chance for playing at least 2D games. Saturn has a pretty messy hardware and because of that its emulation is so complicated.
@realbrucest I got clockwork knight to run on yabause on wii my first try. Well given your comment is from a year ago and i am using a much much more udated one, just telling you to let you know. It lagged at times but not major, i find it to be semi playable. The sound cuts out every now and then but the emulator will run way more smooth in the future i know it. The one i just downloaded played clockwork knight and die hard. its getting there.
I tested Rockman 8 the day b4 yesterday, it looked like it was gonna work "well" but just after the "Sega copyrighted stuff" screen it appeared a new one in Japanese saying something about a RAM backup problem (my Japanese is pretty shitty). No luck :(
I'm afraid not. Even using Yabause latest version compatibility is very low, and performance... the same. This is what is called "proof of concept" and that means that perhaps we will never see a fully functional release :(
I have the emulator, I think it works, but I can't know because I got Sonic Jam, it's very expensive memory won't fit in my SD card! I hope it can read compressed files.
i got the same. i upgraded to 3.4u w/ out knowing. i don't want to downgrade because that fucks with your machine permanately and you can brick it the more you do. even though there are things to unbrick it, i don't want to waste my time.
i still have some of my saturn games in hopes of emulation resurrecting them some how. i have DBZ Legends and i'm dying to play it. my Sega Saturn is broken. I hope someone makes this work 100%
Castlevania works of course its slow it works though, virtual fighter 2 does not work, house of the dead does not, shining in the holy ark does not. man I hope we will be able to load our own cds soon and emulate at a decent speed.
i don't know if there is a special format program that has to patch games like wii games, depending on how you want to play them w/ a mod chip or which program using homebrew channel to boot up a bootleg. (legal copy of a game you own). lol

2D games?! Rayman better work soon enough then! WiiSX (PSX version of Rayman) won't even let the game go past the UBISoft logo... :(

Awesome!! anybody know what are some games that work for this release? Im gonna test a few myself.
xemption 3 years ago
im using the older version that supports bin/cue. Where do you put the games? I can't seem to get it recognized...
IdeonFukkatsu 3 years ago
In the release I use all files go on the same folder:
- boot.elf
- bios.bin
- game.iso
Look for "Markus1981 yabause" release on google.
