  • i have a v100 iced tea,not bad for 200 quid but be warned the frets are soft as shite.

chocolate wrapped in tinfoil would probably last longer.

  • I have this guitar, it extreamly good value for money and I would recomend it to anyone, no matter what genre of music you play.

  • This guitar any good for Sex Pistols Ramones Exploited? Basically is this guitar good for Punk Rock, Hardcore Punk and Horror Punk? Thanks

  • Very nice model indeed! they're currently stocked in several colours by Fox UK Music where I personally tried it out. Absolutely amazed by its sound and overall tone. Recommend looking up the store and ordering through them as they'll guarantee a great deal.

  • The V100s are garbage, they use cheap ceramic pickups made in China which sound muddy and cheap whereas Epiphones actually use real alnico Vs which sound much better.

  • @bigwy100 Epiphones are made in China too you know

  • These V100 are better than the Epiphone standards for lower the price.

I'm getting one for christmas, I recommend to anyone!

  • It's ricky's shop so i demand to see ricky himself immediately!

  • This guitars is for which music genre?

  • @Ultex035 Rock, obviosly.

  • ;) my next baby!!

  • trebuhlay cutaing sind at the bretch

  • @MrTjgale well, i have one of these and the finish is impeccable and the sound is excellent which led me to get rid my epiphone lp on ebay! mind you, your description would almost cover my criticism of the epiphone. but hey, im no expert, and but like many things in life, tastes differ!

  • I'm looking for this guitar in LEFT HANDED .. I don't found in your site.

  • Good guitar , but shit amp on this video

  • Are the orders from Rikki's Music Shop only for the UK, or can I order one in the US?

  • @ContrerasSnake Hi, sorry but we can only send to UK and EU destinations. Hope you manage to find one closer to home. Regards Graeme

  • are these chambered or do they have a completely solid body?

  • I have this one and its very good guitar... on the stage too ;-)

  • at the moment i have a gould les paul which i bought for £150, i still have the reciet and i'm thinking of selling it back to the shop because the same shop is selling this guitar for £199, do you think this is a good idea?

  • "Playing a lot more than tuning the guitar...?" Not on the V100 I have just bought which doesn't stay in tune for more than a couple of seconds for some odd reason. It is a very nice guitar - I bought mine 2nd hand on Ebay for a good price. It had been modded with orange drop caps, genuine Kluson tuners and new nut by what would now seem to be a less than competent luthier. Looks great and sounds good but refuses to stay in tune... as Peter Green famously said... oh, well.

  • @zthetha have you thought about putting locking tuners on it? just a suggestion

  • @krajnovic10 Hi - thanks for your suggestion - which had crossed my mind - but prob now solved - see my reply to batseend. Cheers.

  • @zthetha My new one stays in tune perfectly though.

  • @batseend I have to say that a very curious thing has happened since I wrote this - in exasperation I bought a guitarman tuner - as a result of which (or some harmonious planetary alignment to which I am not privy) it has stayed in tune brilliantly with only the occasional tweak. The V100 is a superb instrument that I can recommend unreservedly and truly better than a Gibson LP I once owned - part ex'd for a luthier built flamenco job.

  • @RikkisMusicShop will you guys still have this guitar in store around may time for im planning on purchasing one for my birthday

  • @GrantMills246 We've currently got the V100 on special offer at a very reasonable £199 (only in Cherry Sunburst, Flamed Ice Tea and Black). After these have gone then we can make a special order but the guitar will be at a higher price. Cheers, Graeme

  • @RikkisMusicShop thats cool. I was just wondering there is many guitars im looking at at the moment.

  • @GrantMills246 These guitars are absolutely immense for the money dude, I got one for my son last year in Flamed ice tea and its everything a les paul should be. Be aware tho if you get them mail order from a large store/warehouse such as gear4music you will get it as they got it from the factory and you really need to know a bit about guitars to set it up properly from that state. Best off from a smaller shop with a more personal touch and they will set it up to suit you. Good luck.

  • Just out of curiosity, where are these guitars made?

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 We wish it were simple ..... Depending on which V100, they are made in South Korea, China, Vietnam, sorry ....

  • hi could you please review the v100 in cherry sunburst?

  • Is that real flame maple or flamed veneer?

awesome guitar though (: I have a Gibson Les Paul and to be honest the vintage V100 does sound spectacular :D

  • @multilegend93 Veneers are real maple just sliced thin.

  • Are you Irish? Great review. ;)

  • @velebr3 Hi. No, I'm scottish but thanks for the comment. Rgds Chris.

  • I personally posses a Vintage V100 Cherry Sunburst. When i got this baby in 2009, i was so happy with it, it was my first high end guitar.. At some point i had to re-solder the jack output after i opened it. Also i have a very annoying fret buzz which i had to fix using the truss rod.. Appart from that i haven't had any trouble, great sounds, great looks and very great results.

I've been waiting for a very long time for youtube users to finally notice this guitar. It might become popular :-).

  • I got this IT model for my lad at christmas 2009 as his first proper guitar he had a strat copy before. It is an immense guitar It has the quality finish the weight the set neck the maple cap and a lovely fast neck. I compared it with an epiphone and I bought this hands down. Mine was not from a local shop though and did need a complete set up to get it to play really well but as setup is a personal thing i would have probably done it anyway. I took the scratchplate off and it looks totally ace.

  • What plant in China is the V100 manufactured? Obviously, nothing against Chinas quality of some guitars as they make top of the line Epi's nowadays.

    Thanks

  • Hey it is a lovely guitar and I am on the verge of buying one.

I do have one question though, is it a set neck or a bolt on neck??

  • @multilegend93 They are set neck. There are 2 varieties - the standard V100 are clean and new looking, and the ICON series which are distressed to resemble age and wear.

  • @MarcusBritish

    cheers dude :)

Probably going get one for Christmas now, cheers for the help.

  • @multilegend93 No probs - thinking of ordering myself one tomorrow, though I can't decide what colour - such a lovely wide range to choose from! I'm split between honeyburst or iced tea after much thought. I love the arctic white one also, but I don't like gold hardware due to the way it tarnishes in time. If you haven't already, check out the Vintage VS6 based on the Gibson SG - that is a beauty also, from the Vintage range, and great value for money. I have one.

  • @MarcusBritish

yeah man they are great guitars, I think the Ice tea is the best colour. :D

I also have a westfield e4500 black custom which I modified to look like James Hetfields Iron cross custom, it's my main gig guitar :). Do Vintage do custom les pauls??

  • @multilegend93 Not that I've seen - I think Epiphone make Custom LP's but their LP's around the same price range as the V100 are supposedly not nearly as good. The V100 lemon drop is Peter Green inspired, I think that's their closest to a custom model - no change in the pickups or anything though, looks nice but higher price in most shops. There's the gold top too - it has different pups to the rest of the range, but I don't like the gold look, looks too glam.

  • @MarcusBritish Urgh. I hate epiphones, I have one and it is useless.

shame, I like my westfield e4500 custom Iron cross its a nice guitar. (you should check westfield out) :) I am definitely gonna get a Vintage V100 but not sure on the ice tea, or the Ebony colour.

Epiphones are not in the same league as other high end copy's like Vintage or Westfield :)

  • @multilegend93 Lol, you beat me to it - I've looked into Westfield before, they are always described as a budget brand on the forums and in reviews. I play bass.. guitar is new to me, but because I intend to learn properly I don't intend to get a beginner guitar - as I know I won't give up and end up wasting the money on a decent guitar, or 2. The VS6 I have was to replace a Squire Affinity Strat - it's okay, but the neck is a bit thin for my liking to learn on with comfort. Cheap range though.

  • @MarcusBritish

I play bass too but not touched it for a few years now

Westfield is a budget guitar but the Action is so much nicer than an epiphone, can't say about the sound as I chucked out the original pickups as I put EMG 81, and 60 in :) but fingers crossed I get the Vintage soon, will be good for my January gig :D

  • @multilegend93 If you get a V100, the E4500 won't see light of day again - you'll be making a big upgrade. The only step up from there is a real LP. :P

  • @MarcusBritish Haha yeah I heard amazong things about the way the Vintage plays but my E4500 has EMG pickups, grover tuners, and a custom paint job, so I think the Vinatge is gonna have some seymour Duncans in for the Slash like feel.

I do not think I could live with myself for paying that amount of money for a Gibson Les Paul to be honest. xD

  • @multilegend93 Agreed - any guitar/bass over £1000 is only worth getting if you're a main-stream pro or recording artist and need high quality and an instrument that will last being gigged further than local places or with friends. I have Fender, Hofner, Yamaha basses, but also cheaper ones, Tokai, OLP, Ibanez, and a Westfield acoustic bass. I don't intend to go as mad on guitars though - 1 acoustic, 1 Strat, 1 Tele an SG and LP suits me, nothing more.. once I've learned to play, that is! ^_^

  • @MarcusBritish

haha yeah, my whole family is music orientated, I have 3 LP's an SG, and a es-355, I have an Ibanez bass and a Tama drum kit my dad gave to me 2 years ago (:

The Vintage is my last addition, sadly I am off to uni in a year or two so I will be skint for a few years :P

  • @multilegend93 ES-355 looks nice - I love guitars with a more tradition look, and those with f-holes and semi-acoustic tones feel great to play, even unamped.

Given the reviews on the V100, it should last you well though the next couple of years and 3 or 4 more at Uni if it's well cared for, baring minor repairs.

Tried drums - couldn't stand them - impossible to play to anything, without upsetting the neighbours by playing at high volumes. So I went to bass.. a beautiful instrument to learn.

  • @MarcusBritish

yeah I like the ES for classic songs like the Beatles, my Les Pauls for metal and hard rock, GnR and Metallica mostly.

yeah I am hoping to take my westfield and my (soon to be) Vintage with me to Uni as both of these guitars sound great

Drums I picked up really easily since I play rhythm guitar, and my neighbours seem fine with it. I find Bass really hard though xD

  • @multilegend93 That's odd - if you can strum a 4/4 guitar chord, then you should be able to play the root on bass just as easily, if not easier because its a 1 finger job, no chord shapes. It's only once you get to walking bass lines things get trickier.. and exciting. :)

  • @MarcusBritish I don't get it man, I tried but I know two riffs on bass and that is "money" by pink floyd and "smoke on the water". I think I will stick with my guitar playing for now :) Do you think seymour duncans will go well with the Vintage? Also whats your play style, finger picking or using a plectrum?

  • @multilegend93 watch?v=HMQH8s6L72s - check his V100 with SD's out - it may convince you. I think it sounds great, but I'll stick with the Wilko's for a while when I get mine.

I play both - I believe bass and guitar are versatile instruments, so I play finger/plectrum on bass, and on guitar I play plectrum mostly (still learning though so not into full songs). Not into classical finger picking - but rhythm with finger thumb I do.

I have old bass vids on my channel with TABS - for learning from.

  • @MarcusBritish cheers man I will do, I rarely keep stock pickups in my guitars

yeah both are great instruments to play. I love playing my guitars so much, I even sold my xbox to get my EMG's for the e4500 haha XD

I will check out your bass vids soon man, I wanna get some guitar covers up here with my band but atm I do not have a camera so it's a no go atm :/

how long you been playing bass dude?

  • @multilegend93 Been playing since about Oct 2008, I think that's when I got a really shit starter bass (Cheetah) - learned for a year, then got a Yamaha BB bass. I have 10 basses now, all very different. Moved to guitar now, because I want to record my own chords to practice against rather than pay for someone elses. Learning an instrument is one thing - developing into solos and improvising after about a year of play along seems a good step. I don't like to rush things, it leads to mistakes.

  • @multilegend93 If you're strumming G D C progression on rhythm guitar, the basic bassline is also G D C. Don't learn tricky riffs on bass, at first - learn simple 8th note support - The Killers are good to learn for beginners! The most complex bassline I know is Meatloaf's "Bat Out of Hell" - all 10 mins of it! Inbetween Killers and Meatloaf there are many The Beatles songs with easy thru to complex basslines. McCartney is a genius though..

  • @MarcusBritish yeah McCartney is a good player. When you start playing the guitar and wanna learn a few songs check out Martyzsong's" youtube channel he teaches you so many different songs in an easy style. helped me when I first started out. thanks for the tips aswell man, I will give it a go but I do not think bass is my calling xD

  • @multilegend93 I got the honeyburst V100 - it's very nice, bloody heavy too - could beat someone to death with it! Thought I'd pass on a word of caution though, that I just experienced - the V100 seem to be made to best suit light gauge 10 strings, eg Rotosound Roto Yellow (10-46). If you put anything heavier on the tuners rattle badly! I have 11's on, and need to go back to 10's it seems. Same with the VS6, I put 12's on it and the tuners are a bit buzzy. Seems Gibson's are fussy buggers.. lol!

  • Where the hell do you buy these?!?! I want one!

  • @luke98959895 eBay, Amazon, any half-decent music shop.. just Google shop for all local prices to order online, or go to your nearest guitar dealer.

  • Hey...

Im thinkin of getting one of those... but im not sure which colour i should take...

is there a difference between the FLAMED iced tea and the iced tea colour?

    thanks...

  • can this guitar be used as an intermediate?

  • I have this exact guitar but in tobacco burst, sure it was good for the first 4-5 months.. but i can hear the pickups degrading as i play, Any suggestion's? I got it for roughly £200 off the internet from Dolphin Music. It looks a master peice but sounds like a hello kitty squire. I regret purchasing it, anyone else have the same problem?

  • Thanks.. well im off to musicstore........

  • i'm sorry but the settings of the amp are horribly muddy and do not give a good idea of the tonal capabilities of the guitar.

  • Difference between Vintage V100 and Vintage V100 Icon?(not lemon)

  • @spotbox2004 The ICON series are made to look older, with wear and faded patches. Standard V100's are new looking.

  • I can't really hear much difference between neck and middle position on my V100. Do you think there might be a problem with it or is there just not that much of a difference?

  • Between this model (the V100) and the V100 lemon drop they are many differences?

the quality is the same or the lemon drop is better?

    thanks a lot good job!!!

  • @christocaster Hello and thank you for the enquiry, I am very pleased with the quality of these guitars , the v100 and the lemon drop version are amazing for the price tag , I would personally go for the v100 iced tea finish ..... STUNNING sound and a superb finish

  • @RikkisMusicShop Thanks for your answer.;)

Both guitars haves same quality? Cause I prefer to go for the lemon drop...

  • Any differences between that guitar and VINTAGE V100WR?

The VINTAGE V100WR has mini humbuckers, no idea how they sound compared to standard humbuckers.

    Thanks in advance.

  • @Muppio Hello Sorry for late reply ... here we go , the pick-ups on the V100r have similar sound to a single coil but at a high output level , so you still get a great overdriven sound but with the emphasis being on the top end of the sound i.e treble end, don't get me wrong it still has great bass end , regards and keep on rockin dude !

  • it sounds awesome but I'm trying to know the differences between the v99 and the v100 because I have to think about the money because I also need a new amp. can anyone tell me the difference?

  • @niekolas The main difference between the two guitars is that the V100 has a set neck, whereas the V99 has a bolt on. Other differences include the materials used - V100 has mahogany body and neck, V99 has eastern poplar body and maple neck. Obviously the V100 costs more because you are paying for better quality materials and construction.

  • @RikkisMusicShop thanks, I'm playing guitar for almost a year now and still on my cheap beginner guitar so I don't know much about guitars yet, but is this a good guitar too buy for me I heard lots of good stuff about it.

  • @niekolas v99 i think has a bolt on neck instead of a set neck

  • tooo short review

  • @RikkisMusicShop thanks you so much, got one yesterday in Flamed Ice Tea :D

  • Which finish do you think is better : cherry sunburst, tobacco sunburst, or flamed ice tea?

  • @AwesomeFingerboard

To be honest, all the V100s are finished to a very high standard and look stunning. You can't go wrong with any of the colours you have chosen. However, if i was pushed to chose one myself, I would go for the Flamed Iced Tea.

  • this guy has an interesting pronunciation :D great guitar btw

  • what is the guitar in the bottom left corner with the funky pickguard?

  • i have a epiphone les paul standard (£300+) and i just bought a vintage v100 alpine white guitar for only £100 and they sound identical i realy reccomment this guitar

  • Hi quenterro, the one in our video is the Flamed Iced Tea finish.

  • Could you tell me please what finish is that?

  • @quenterro flamed ice tea check out jhs.co.uk
