Under the pink has some great songs on it but as an album its not as strong in my opinion. Little earthquakes... another Amazing one, lol. My fave is Scarlets walk or Venus.
This album is so underated! It just grows and grows on you. AATS is one of the best tracks from the cd. The song is almost perfect, in fact, it would have been perfect if she had left out the guitar part at 1:50 or done a better guitar section, but the lyrics are perfection. The vocals are really good too.

actually, I think this is great, not a downgrade from her previous work at all. It's nice how she switches throughout her career from more acoustic piano work to synth/guitar-oriented tunes. Also, this has nice wordplay, "impecable pecadillo", hell you can practically see the sleezball with just two words. And as far as concepts like "sell-out" and "commericialized"; it's absurd to think any man or woman who's been in this industry for so long would be that naive about her pop prospects.

I really like these visualettes. Gives the song a sense and atmsophere, rather than tell the story of the lyrics. In a way they combine botht he music and lyrics in visuals.
It's a bit like when I listen to music in the car and I just look outside all the way there. Nothing directly related to it but great sense and feeling of eing in the song.
I don't think anyone will ever know why she did these for the songs, but my guess is that she wanted the song itself to be the star, not the Video, thus she made them muted and show only the bare essence of what the song is about; aka the persona that the song is resonating from, so that we as the listeners can better grasp the song and appreciate it all the more.
I think the "vanity" that comes across in the "visualettes" is mostly accidental - results of a low budget and the director's lack of ideas more than anything else. i would say that the music video, by nature, is usually quite "vain."

I think the "vanity" that comes across in the "visualettes" is mostly accidental - results of a low budget and the director's lack of ideas more than anything else. i would say that the music video, by nature, is usually quite "vain."

@fullmetalcornflake agreed...i'm all for abstract, but it'd be cool if she documented the recording process and then gave us a little bit of a more literal visual...some images that actually correspond to what the song's story is about...and LOSE the wig...ugh. i think she is ready for another dose of ayahuasca in the peruvian rain forest ;) or something =^_^=

@dynamicdimensions lol she has the wigs to back up her album...her album has different people singing that are all pieces of her...lol i think it was brilliant though i think she's starting to conform to the "new" music to gain popularity but its still an awesome album :)
