Actually this device has the capablilities of an addition of a radio transmitter; it can be added to it, so technically it is a phone with the right hardware additions. If you look at the android OS it shows contacts and dialer (no its not for skype becuase skype has its own icon but not included just yet).
I hope Apple takes note of this for future iphones. If it is open platform it should run iPhone OS as nicely as it runs Android in that clip (I think) It has OpenGL hardware support - nice....

The Dev model is expensive because it includes a development kit. Similar to those used in console gaming.

Whooaaa, its 3D capabilities put my G1 to shame! The front camera is also something I really want, I hope the battery life is good though. It would be an everything killer if it also had a keyboard.

As cool as this device is. It's no competition to the ipod touch or even the Zune HD. The average buyer has never heard of it. Most buyers know about the zune. And just about everyone has heard of the ipod touch.

I think some of you miss the point. This device is intended for developers. But what the hell, it has a cool os. Plus you can choose from android and ubuntu mid, just to name a few.
Im a developer myself, and Im definitely buying this.

the battery life is what is going to put a seal on me buying this thing, if the battery life is high and the sound quality and eq options are amazing along with the rest of the features that have been mentioned to be one this device than i will call this the ultimate portable media player. i hope they make an option for all the features in a separate device that's not a phone cuz i could care less about using it as one.

Its a 1.3mp camera on the back, it may have a high resolution but the quality would still be like a cellphone.

Firstly, virtually every cellphone with 1.3mp camera has video capture. Secondly, it's misleading. It's calling it HD because it is over 1000 pixels lxh, but it isn't 1080p, it only supports that as output. Idiot.

it records at 720p... which is, in fact, by definition, hd. just not full hd. adding "idiot" isn't exactly needed here, since we don't know eachother. for all you know I could be an expert in this field.

The H video format is better than only m4v fir an iPhone also expansion slot makes sense as well as front camera for skype or video chat and the operating system is already proven ala palm pre iPhones only have a sensor in the front for auto brightness

Argh now I have to decide on to get the Creative Zii or the Zune HD. I think Creative is better than Zune/Ipod, "EXPANSION MEMORY CARD SLOT" WHICH IS GOOD AND BETTER THAN THE Ipod. The other thing I have a question bout this is what's the point in adding a GPS on a PMP video player for? And did you take the Zii name from the Wii?

I think sandisk sansa's are good too, but zen is known for better screens and sound quality.

Actually this device has the capablilities of an addition of a radio transmitter; it can be added to it, so technically it is a phone with the right hardware additions. If you look at the android OS it shows contacts and dialer (no its not for skype becuase skype has its own icon but not included just yet).

I hope Apple takes note of this for future iphones. If it is open platform it should run iPhone OS as nicely as it runs Android in that clip (I think) It has OpenGL hardware support - nice....

okay so its obvious. the iphone and android are the two biggest fighters now, well with all the rumors, but im a android fan, and i've always hated apple, but the thing in dont like about apple is that its the same, while like android can be costmizable on the backgound, it can also be worked on, like the HTC Hero, unlike apples where you get little squares, but i do think its good, but i HATE it, cause its apple... but thats just my opinon. if you reply back i wont, cause i dont care bout you

The Thing is, Apple have revolutionized what a phone can do. Alot of the selling points of this are taken straight from the iPhone such as the multi-touch screen. And the iPhone looks alot easier to use and self-explanatory. Anyway, just thought I'd get my point across, this does look awesome!
