Im a locksmith and have installed a bunch of these Secur-Key mag-stripe readers. All ATMs do this its is so anyone who has a ATM card can use the ATM becasue they're not bank specific. So any card with a mag stripe will work them.
Actually the funny part is that some dont even have to be cards with mag strips. I have folded a 5 dollar bill and pushed it in. There was a hard switch at the back.
