Basically the firmware on the drive was kinda old so Optiarc made a new firmware and dell also did a fix on the bios fix on A09 and A12 so update those and your sorted!!

Got an M1530 and it does this too!! My MP3s also stutters for a millisecond during idle as well. Hate this because I DJ with the laptop and stuttering is in no way acceptable.

Did the same thing and talked to Dell, but they come up with excuses that their engineers are still working on it. They should of hardware-proof their XPS system before selling them since the XPS is their top-of-the-line models.

i deleted all the Roxy things, dvd player, burner, ripper, maker and so on.

i put in AVG anti virus instead of mcfee..

i recommnd AVG(kk

free) or Avast(free)

i also downloadded a prog named CCleaner(google it) that let remove unesesery bootup programs and proseses witch slows down the computer..

if u want to i might be able to make a vid where i show thease things.

Oh NO NO NO!! You deleted all your Roxy things? I don't know how I would live without Roxy because it is a great software. I recommend you reinstall your Roxy through the DVD that came with your XPS M1330.

Nice to see someone posting their experiences with the XPS m1530. I ordered mine and it will be arriving about 25/02.

Does the slot loading drive make as much noise as is does on the m1330?

I have the T7700 2,4GHz, 2GB Ram, nvidia 256Mb, Blu-ray, Vista Ultimate, 1440x900 and some more features.

How is the battery life on the 6-cell battery?

Glad ur like my work :D i make videos like this couse its kind of a hoby and I enjoyed watching vids about the m1530 and the m1330 when i was waiting for my notebook :D

but i can make a vie on how the sound is when u put a dvd in or out as soo as i get home ;P

The battery life depends on what u do and if u are running "battery-saving" mod.

in internet explorer its about 2-3 hours.

yeah.. Dell have a longer waiting time over here in Belgium due to a large demand. And also, ifi would have ordered a standard system it would probably arrive faster.
