All this talk about putting the blame on the flyer and the base isn't right. It's EVERYONE'S fault. In all my years a cheerleading, we never blamed one person for a fall, it wasn't allowed. If a stunt fell, it was the whole stunt groups fault.

And for the comment of "Everyone wants to be a Kentucky cheerleader, not entirely true. I always wanted to be a Louisville cheerleader. But this is the only sport at Kentucky that I do like. they are amazing, that's forsure.

UK is the best in the UCA and Uof L is the best in the NCA. Having seen them both I think UofL is more enjoyable to watch. It's the NCA style.

I'm going to have to say being a flyer is the hardest..the are all equelly importent but when the stunt falls who gets blamed...the flyer.

I disagree. I'm a base, but I've flown before, and I specifically switched to basing because I hated the pressure of being a flyer. It didn't matter if my bases let go of my feet entirely, it was my fault for falling. At the same time, though, it's the flyer that gets all the props if you're stunt sticks really well.

i think being the fly is hardest, but actually who gets blamed depends on the coach.. if they were a fly they probably blame the bases and vise versa

i have done every part in a stunt but i am especially new to flying. I def. think that they are all equally as hard but when you are on a level 5 team like me, basing and flying are the hardest. basing is hard because we are doing 2 mans and 1 mans and im 4 foot 3 so i am holding up girls who are like 5 foot 7 but flying is hard too because you have to flip over other flyers and you have to flip and are being thrown almost nonstop.

I have been in every position in the stunt, and they are all very important. Flying is a hard job to because you have to be able to do the tricks that you are asked to do, because some people will not allow their body to twist into a full down but bases are important and so are backspots cause they have to use alot of strength. Front spotting is probaly the easiest but you still have to help you bases support the flyer.

Lol, you are right, we dont give enough credit to the bases, takes strength to get those girls so high up. But i suppose since the emphasis is really on the flexibility of the flyer, thats why they get the most credit. But without bases, there would be no flying =)

I agree totally with you because I am a base but really if you think about it every single position in cheerleading not just stunting is really important. Like without flyers what would bases do?, without spots the flyer could fall and serously hurt herself, and without tumblers routines would be pretty boring. : )

LOL without the basing, the flyers wouldnt fly, but if they did they would land with a thump. Good job baser. IDK if basing is harder, or flying is, I just know that without both, you wouldnt have anything. AND, like all things, its the ones who make the flash who get all the "credit", my only advice ... CHEER UP lol

I know people who have gone frome basing to flying and they agreed flying in pods is easyr but I have to say flyers that do coed things like roundups that is harder than basing no question@gymnasty13

basing takes strength but flying take alot of core and legs muscles lets not mention balance and the risk of falling to your death :P but i undersatnd wat ur saying flyers shouldnt get all the credit because without a base there is no stunt but without a flyer there is no stunt
