I tried really hard to watch the debate objectively, and I think Cenk got it right. It wasn't a landslide. I do think that Obama took the win, however. He definitely came off more presidential, he answered questions specifically, coolly, and competently. McCain on the other hand threw out some petty jabs that didn't land.

Obama doesnt plan on withdrawing all troops from Iraq. He will continue the Bush plan of establishing permanant military bases there which are now being constructed. He said this himself. He says we need to maintain our influence there and that only combat troops will be withdrawn.

It's kinda irrelevant. What are the issues? It seems that folks don't really care too much about the issues. They are concerned about silly stuff that will neither tell us enough about each candidate in the long run.

McCain/Palin= change -PLEASE-that is ajoke. How can you represent change when you have voted with Bush 95% of the time? Also everytime the right can't get what it wants the fearmongering starts. It's been 7 years and OBL is still out there! The real danger is if McCain/Palin get into office! She is more hawkish than Bush with if you can believe it less brains.And McCain wants to relive his glory days in the service. I say let them go get a video game the world has had enough!

Obama's a great politician thats for sure. Our economy has been on a downslide for more than a decade. Former administrations are the ones who put the deregulations into effect not our current one. The current administration inherited a country already in trouble. Do we let the terrorists take over so we have many more Sept 11th attacks? How can America forget so quickly? DO YOUR RESEARCH, base your voting decision on findings not smooth talk. McCain and Palin stand for a change the right one.

Let the terrorists take over? What does that have to do with the problems in the economy? I agree the problems were there before Bush got into power but he made things worse to an extreme degree by not halting but rather accelerating the decline. And McCain will take Bush's changes even further and make things even worse.

I can't even believe you used the word Palin seriously in your request that folks vote for that ticket. This chick who just got a passport, but has sufficient foreign policy experience based on her proximity to Russia? Seriously? Her "awe shucks, golly gee, you betcha" demeanor was cute and apparently made some feel like she was one of the "them." But unfortunately we need a leader who can speak and explain with the seriousness and propriety commensurate with the heavy issues we're dealing with.

It wasn't a town hall or a debate. It was a debacle. I want real americans asking real questions, unscripted with real american candidates, not 2 corporate stooges.

I tried really hard to watch the debate objectively, and I think Cenk got it right. It wasn't a landslide. I do think that Obama took the win, however. He definitely came off more presidential, he answered questions specifically, coolly, and competently. McCain on the other hand threw out some petty jabs that didn't land.

I gotta go with Cenk on this one. I thought that it was a tie. McCain was good on the first half, but Obama took it in the second half. I guess what people are bothered with (like my mom) is that McCain comes off as this unfunny, lying, attacking old man, while Obama is cool and explains everything in detail.
