  • Hi I'm Brazilian, I wonder if you do not have to sell?

  • 4:30 wat da f*** is up with that plug

  • Thumbs up if you thought of this idea in your dream and saw it the next day at best buy.

  • i recently bought a powermat for 3 or 3g iphone.would it work/charge with iphone 4s? please respond asap.

  • 1) Do this same exact thing with a Mouse Pad

    2) Connect Wireless Mouse

    3) Profit

  • i actually think this is more convient, because you dont have to have a long wire plugged into your computer and mine are always getting worn out and stop working from how much i have to move it. also, you can just leave on a table and place your iphone in, instead of dealing with a long wire, as i said earlier, so i think this will save time and money, at least for me. if u dont have any problems with your charger, then u might not want to buy this

  • I dont like the case, I hope technology advance enough that its turn only into a small dock for it, as a bluetooth transmitter, granted, im not interested enough on this to read HOW actually works, and if it needs to be all around the phone to "send" the signal.

  • It looks like a matter of pulling your pants down past your ass just to fart. Where U could just fart with your pants ON.

  • I'm sure you charge the pad and then take it out so if your in a town or something you can automatically charge your phone? It's Not wireless thes no point wasting your money

  • sorry....but i have an question to ask.....it's the charger can charge without the cable??????

  • would be cooler if i could charge it just looking at it .. :D

  • "it's just cooler" hahaha such a true statement.

  • And it's called a wireless charger? lol

  • Oh wireless charging across the world is possible it's called a solar powered iPhone

  • If thats wireless charging, how come we still have to plug it in??

  • it's not as good since we can't do things with it while it's charging lol

  • It's utterly pointless! It's actually MORE inconvenient because you have to use a bulky case to make it work. Just plugging it in is far simpler. Nice video though.

  • think they should make a big table cloth so you can throw it down any wear and charge it ?? thumbs up?? hmm for like for a night table or something

  • Hi Dave

does this unit charge the ipod Touch?

  • well the charging pad is gonna look pretty stupid, once you look down and your i phone is stolen.

  • @thabck as opposed to someone just pulling out the cable and stealing it ;)

  • i dont get it. how can you use it while its charging? you have to pick it up to use it! fuckin dumass. unfriginbeleivable! and like a dumass they put a wired charger to connect the phone with the usb port. but the wire isnt even fukin long so its fukin useless. thats why i use wired so u could use it while its charging. the wireless charger is fukin useless to me. whoever like that device is now dumber.

  • i think its less convenient than a regular charger because on this thing its harder to use the phone while charging because it stops when you pick it up. A regular charger you could pick up your phone and do whatever while its charging.

  • 5:00 that iphone looks massive !! i guess you have small.. hands :)

  • 60 dollars for a prety charger.. seems stupid

  • what is so inconveint about it? you just set it down and it charges imediantly

  • does it work with the ipod touch?

  • You can not keep the phone in your hand while chargin!

  • @dorinalx yeah so whats the point in the camera slot etc lol

  • thnx im need to buy 1 now. my iphone batt runs out too quickly thnx dude

  • lol what a crap product u have to have the ugly ass case on it just so u dont have to spend the extra 5 seconds plugging it in

  • they use it for heart Pumps aswell :)

    why get induction charger?

well you could build it in to your tabel..

and some bars in denmark do have the technology build in to the bare tabel..

so you can charge laptops and other small devices..

Btw how do you plug it in to a computer after ud get the case on ?

i was looking at it seems that you have to remove the case ...

(Bad design in my opinion, would properly have been possible to make it USB friendly.. )

  • I don't see it being worth the extra bulk. Apple needs to copy what Palm did with the touchstone and have technology built into the battery. Maybe one day.

  • Obviously not wireless, i see a wire.

  • @nhtm155 wireless as in there is no wire connecting to the iphone, dur

  • Where did u get Charger Pad In ireland ?

  • Personaly i think its pretty stupid. It would be cool if they could find out a way to charge the iphone without haveing to plug in the dock to anything.

  • One Downside....Can't use your phone while charging.

  • I thuoght there is an extra Battry in the case!!! is it???

  • @yssssm no, it's just the thing that connects to the mat to give the power to the phone

  • thumbs up if urthe 772th viewer

  • I was going to get this for my Ipod, but MAH!

  • does the work for the i-pod touch 3g

  • Cool video Dave, thanks for posting.

Induction charging is a nice idea (along with NFC), but I think until battery manufacturers begin integrating the tech into their batteries it will remain a novelty/niche product, bacause as your video shows, it requires the use of additional hardware.

One thing that would be interesting is a comparison of charging times. How does it stack up against conventional mains and computer USB?

  • @mikeward1701 It's exactly the same charge time as charging it from the mains.

  • why on earth they didnt allow dock port pass through is beyond me (COPYRIGHT?), but nice idea, i actually disagree, i think that IS a lot easier than fumbling for a dock cable and inserting it, saves a lot of wear and tear and loosening of that precious dock keeping the higher quality line out safe, if you could get at it! ;)

  • I personally think it IS easier. When you come home, sometimes you don't really want to look for the cord or w/e. I think just placing it on the mat itself would actually be quicker.

  • it isn't really wireless, because i can clearly see a wire coming from the PowerPad

  • I can see how this might be convenient. You could set the base up by the front door and when you get home you just toss the phone on it, and then every day when you leave you just grab the phone before you go. Personally I wouldn't bother buying it. But I don't even have a cell phone anyway. I don't like them. !

  • It can be more convenient. The PowerPad can be an accessory on the desk. Whenever you put down the iPhone, you put it there (the PowerPad always plugged in though that can be a fire hazard). So it's charging whenever you put down your iPhone, so you don't have to regularly plug it in via USB anymore. The moment you leave the house, it's charged.

  • power mat is soooooo much better

  • its not realy wireless if it were wireless u could charge it from anywhere

  • Those are extremely pointless...

  • I find it pointless and if you already have a cool case you will have too keep changing the cases over and if you did drop it while in the Big solid case that comes with the charger .. will it not break the link from the case too the matt thing..??

  • How the hell do you connect to itunes. I don't see a usb adapter.

  • it would be useful, because if you, say, leave the pa on a desk and use the case as your main case, you can walk home, put your phone down, and go about your business, and your phone will charge!

  • That was awesome.

I'd like a "Table mat" version that i can put across my office desk, and for it to charge small things like wireless mouse, iPhone, possibly even my laptop!

and of course it'd have to have style.

This technology is exciting i hope to see it hit main retail markets and the prices drop lower ^^.

Wireless SSD would be awesome also... hehe i guess i can keep on dreaming (:

  • nice review

  • Problem is, not sure if this is easier than just putting it in a dock.

  • Got one for my husband, he hate it, coz the iPhone became so big. So I it with my iPhone, I hate it too. A sport car became a truck!

  • u got in hmv

    #

  • It is pretty cool!! :D

  • does it charge a phone without that protector

  • @marshallhwa no it wont

  • @marshallhwa nope

  • Nice review, Dave! Just see that your wristwatch doesn't get around it and don't leave it next to your screen.

    Regards,

    Ma.C.

  • I guess it's convenient in the way that u get home and just put down your phone on a pad that charges it instead of having to plug it in and all.

  • @florcita72 "plug it in and all" - ? and what is all? you just plug it in.

Not take it out of your case, put it in the special case and the place it on the mat and not move it until it's recharged.

It's ridiculous and their business for this item will fail.

  • Think of it this way, its a cool trick and how much does a normal case and wall charger for an iphone cost?

  • Well you cant move the phone, if you use the usb you can at least move it.

  • Dave I Wanted To Tell You That Change Your iTunes Password A Hacker Is On The Loose So If You Don't Want To Be Hacked Change It Now!

  • This thing is very cool. Like you say its completely unnecessary but its a neat little gadget and and that case looks very sturdy. I might see if I can get one of these on ebay for cheap. Nice video as always. Great Review.

  • whats the point

o so is it a portable charger, so u could charge it anywere?

  • 3gs seems so ancient now iphone 4 out

  • @nialld5 remember back when you could hold the phone anyway you want? That was good times.

  • @korwinblue its software and anyway i cant even make my signal go down when i cover the corner

  • @nialld5 It's not a software problem. All the update does is that it'll calculate how many bars you have differently. You have 4 bars? Guess what, you actually have 2.

If you can't reproduce the issue, its probably because you're in a very good signal area.

  • @korwinblue I have two iPhones, both 3GS, and they have the same problem. If I hold either one with my left hand covering the lower corner, they lose bars. Let go and the bars return. Never had this problem until I upgraded to ios 4. Many people who own 3G and 3GS have the same issue after upgrading. Could be a coincidence but I'm pretty sure software has at least something to do with it.

  • how much does it cost??

  • @xXxPivixXx the box says 59.99 eros

  • @jamjamhobo Yep but i actually got it for €45, which was cool.

  • @LACK78 thats pretty awesome!!!

  • @jamjamhobo euros

  • @barirdeeee2 lol

  • @jamjamhobo lol

  • @xXxPivixXx $60

  • @xXxPivixXx 40 euros

  • @MegaMacStuff lo0o0o0o0ol this is stupid i hate people that say 1st but i had my chance and let me say this charger is really useless

  • Nice review but that must be most stupid thing I have ever seen.

I'd rather just plug mine in rather than have a massive PAD+CASE.

Is it a joke or something?

  • 1st

  • @Cho0sen8 no one fucken cares if you are the first commenter. BTW 2nd

  • @Cho0sen8 1st? 1st what? 1st cocking suck son of a bitch? YES!
