i actually think this is more convient, because you dont have to have a long wire plugged into your computer and mine are always getting worn out and stop working from how much i have to move it. also, you can just leave on a table and place your iphone in, instead of dealing with a long wire, as i said earlier, so i think this will save time and money, at least for me. if u dont have any problems with your charger, then u might not want to buy this
I dont like the case, I hope technology advance enough that its turn only into a small dock for it, as a bluetooth transmitter, granted, im not interested enough on this to read HOW actually works, and if it needs to be all around the phone to "send" the signal.
I'm sure you charge the pad and then take it out so if your in a town or something you can automatically charge your phone? It's Not wireless thes no point wasting your money
It's utterly pointless! It's actually MORE inconvenient because you have to use a bulky case to make it work. Just plugging it in is far simpler. Nice video though.
i dont get it. how can you use it while its charging? you have to pick it up to use it! fuckin dumass. unfriginbeleivable! and like a dumass they put a wired charger to connect the phone with the usb port. but the wire isnt even fukin long so its fukin useless. thats why i use wired so u could use it while its charging. the wireless charger is fukin useless to me. whoever like that device is now dumber.
i think its less convenient than a regular charger because on this thing its harder to use the phone while charging because it stops when you pick it up. A regular charger you could pick up your phone and do whatever while its charging.
I don't see it being worth the extra bulk. Apple needs to copy what Palm did with the touchstone and have technology built into the battery. Maybe one day.
Personaly i think its pretty stupid. It would be cool if they could find out a way to charge the iphone without haveing to plug in the dock to anything.
Induction charging is a nice idea (along with NFC), but I think until battery manufacturers begin integrating the tech into their batteries it will remain a novelty/niche product, bacause as your video shows, it requires the use of additional hardware.
One thing that would be interesting is a comparison of charging times. How does it stack up against conventional mains and computer USB?
why on earth they didnt allow dock port pass through is beyond me (COPYRIGHT?), but nice idea, i actually disagree, i think that IS a lot easier than fumbling for a dock cable and inserting it, saves a lot of wear and tear and loosening of that precious dock keeping the higher quality line out safe, if you could get at it! ;)
I personally think it IS easier. When you come home, sometimes you don't really want to look for the cord or w/e. I think just placing it on the mat itself would actually be quicker.
I can see how this might be convenient. You could set the base up by the front door and when you get home you just toss the phone on it, and then every day when you leave you just grab the phone before you go. Personally I wouldn't bother buying it. But I don't even have a cell phone anyway. I don't like them. !
It can be more convenient. The PowerPad can be an accessory on the desk. Whenever you put down the iPhone, you put it there (the PowerPad always plugged in though that can be a fire hazard). So it's charging whenever you put down your iPhone, so you don't have to regularly plug it in via USB anymore. The moment you leave the house, it's charged.
I find it pointless and if you already have a cool case you will have too keep changing the cases over and if you did drop it while in the Big solid case that comes with the charger .. will it not break the link from the case too the matt thing..??
it would be useful, because if you, say, leave the pa on a desk and use the case as your main case, you can walk home, put your phone down, and go about your business, and your phone will charge!
I'd like a "Table mat" version that i can put across my office desk, and for it to charge small things like wireless mouse, iPhone, possibly even my laptop!
and of course it'd have to have style.
This technology is exciting i hope to see it hit main retail markets and the prices drop lower ^^.
Wireless SSD would be awesome also... hehe i guess i can keep on dreaming (:
This thing is very cool. Like you say its completely unnecessary but its a neat little gadget and and that case looks very sturdy. I might see if I can get one of these on ebay for cheap. Nice video as always. Great Review.
@nialld5 It's not a software problem. All the update does is that it'll calculate how many bars you have differently. You have 4 bars? Guess what, you actually have 2.
If you can't reproduce the issue, its probably because you're in a very good signal area.
@korwinblue I have two iPhones, both 3GS, and they have the same problem. If I hold either one with my left hand covering the lower corner, they lose bars. Let go and the bars return. Never had this problem until I upgraded to ios 4. Many people who own 3G and 3GS have the same issue after upgrading. Could be a coincidence but I'm pretty sure software has at least something to do with it.
Hi I'm Brazilian, I wonder if you do not have to sell?

they use it for heart Pumps aswell :)
why get induction charger?
well you could build it in to your tabel..
and some bars in denmark do have the technology build in to the bare tabel..
so you can charge laptops and other small devices..
Btw how do you plug it in to a computer after ud get the case on ?
i was looking at it seems that you have to remove the case ...
(Bad design in my opinion, would properly have been possible to make it USB friendly.. )

florcita72 1 year ago
@florcita72 "plug it in and all" - ? and what is all? you just plug it in.
Not take it out of your case, put it in the special case and the place it on the mat and not move it until it's recharged.
It's ridiculous and their business for this item will fail.
