  • Bruno did not pass away.

  • @texasbilly1 Not only that but he has the heart of a man 20 years his junior

  • Bruno just now passed away today. He'll be missed as one of the last class acts in a sport that went on to become a corrupt institution.

  • @demigawd Uh, no. The guy just had successful heart surgery last week: "Bruno Sammartino, 75, just had surgery to replace deteriorated heart valves. According to a statement by Sal Corrente, who works with Sammartino, he said the rehabilitation period would be about three months but that he is expected to have a full recovery and when all is said and done, because of all the training he has done during his life, he should have the heart of a 40-year-old when he is finished with recovery."

  • @iarann I once heard someone say that Bruno Sammartino and the wrestlor Dominick Denucci were cousins do you know if this is true?

  • @demigawd Bruno is resurrected and has returned from the dead. rejoice

  • Bruno was around 5'10"

  • Awesome! I was SO excited when Bruno was featured on this show. I was a 10 yr old wrestling fan and this was wrestling's "serious" phase and Bruno truly sold Pro Wrestling as a real sport then. He really made u take it serious! Great guy too! Met him a few yrs ago.

  • Search youtube for 'LAST CALL WITH SCOTT HALL - Larry watches Bruno.' funny shit!

  • Bruno was a true champion. I met him when I was about 13 at one of his bouts near Pittsburgh. He was a lot shorter than I expected, but very powerfully built. There wasn't much entertainment back then and it was a treat to watch this man wrestle.

  • tom seaver doing the interview..was this during his pitching career?

  • needs a better rug

  • Am I the only one who thinks that he sounds like Arnold ?.

  • Bruno selling for that doofus and exposing the business long before Vinnie

  • I remember back in 85 or 86 Bruno teamed up with Hogan in Baltimore to do battle with Piper and Orton... Bruno got as big a pop as the Hulkster and it really made me realize how great he must have been before my time.

  • These guys were AMAZING athletes!!!!

  • One the greatest wrestler who ever lived. Bruno was my hero when I was growning up. I always admired him and what he did for wrestling. I would go to all of his matches when he wrestled in the area.

  • @RangerRob2009 This guy has Champ written all over him.

Just look at those hands and arms. Pure power and strength. The days when Wrestling 'heroes' really mattered.

  • 4:04 who's that big man

  • gorilla monsoon

  • i wish that bruno sammartino would be inducted in the 2010 wwe hall of fame...

  • Interesting interview. Time for Part 2.

  • Bruno was the best

  • His promos were funny. He would talk shit and then calm down, then go back to rambling again.

  • @WillBackbone LOL. Tough talk from an internet pussy, hiding behind a computer, picking on an old man...

  • go bruno.

the voice of the wrestling shows commentator must be Vince McMahon's voice for sure

  • I hope Bruno reads this! I am from Pratola Peligna right by Sulmona. My last name is Pizzoferrato and the name is common in the town because many people came to Pratola from your town of Pizzoferrato. I love eating chicoria by the way. Im sure it was different in your time, the stories are just like my father's.

  • the best

  • lol noway Giant Haystacks man. That guy was aweome when I was little

  • Just wanted to say Farewell to Tom Miller

He was a true Wrestling fan. Bruno was his favorite.Tom died on 8/19/9 He taught

me a lot about wrestling. RIP my friend

  • Tom Seaver as the host!! ..this one is a double bonus for me, my two childhood idols! how funny and cool. The good 'ol days.

  • lol you must be a Mets fan, love the screen name. Bruno my all time fave also but Cleon Jones my fave Met

  • Cleon..you must be OLD, lol, like me. I actually named my Golden retriever shea, so the kids all call him Shea-shea. My son's middle name is Seaver!

These old wrestling videos are one of the BEST things about U-tube

  • Comment removed

  • @stashnut73 and @sheashea777...add me to your old-timer lifelong met fan list..seaver was my favorite and i loved rusty staub when he came to the mets..also thought mazzilli was going to be something special (dangit)..still miss kiner, murphy and nelson too..you must type in rusty staub and check out all the old mets vids here on youtube..found some great 1964 and 1975 mets vids too

  • It seems quite incredible now that a world heavyweight title wrestling match would be held at madison square garden as though it were no different than a boxing match. Whilst Wrestling got bigger in its own right under Vince jr, it was treated like a real sport back then

  • At 8:30, did Bruno "expose" the business this early? Of course, everyone has always known that the matches were scripted. Anybody with half a brain could always see that. Vince just confirmed that in the mid-90s to avoid regulation by the New York State Athletic Commission.

  • I think he said "that's true" referring that there are critics

  • actually it was Jersey. He didnt want to pay extra taxes in Jersey

  • he is from an era when they actually wrestled and vince jr was a wrestler for a brief moment in his early career before annoucing

  • 1:18 is that Vince Jr. calling the bout

  • Yeah, before he owned the company he was an announcer.

  • Does anyone know the year on this? Great stuff

  • damn, bruno body slammed the 400 pound gorilla monsoon as if he weighed 100 pounds, amazing natual strenght. bruno was built like a gorilla, huge chest and neck, steroid free, just amazing!.

  • yeah steroid free and being that strong is incredible

  • @enjoyitbro yeah he shows that YOU CAN work your ass off and get that strong.and well mabey born with great nautral strength helps.but working your ass off in the gym does make you this big and strong

  • Greatest Sports Legends! A classic show!

  • damn, Bruno exposed alot of the business for back in the day. I wonder how Vinny Sr. felt about this interview.

  • His chest was as big as any bodybuilder...woof!!!

  • @alexsalvin He started off as a bodybuilder.

  • The GREATEST World Champion EVER!!

  • I did like when champions retained their belts and title changes were a big event. Today titles change hands so often that its no big deal when one happens. I did see Bruno wrestle live quite a few times and he was loved and adored by the crowd. The man had charisma and that went a long way. Bruno was not the greatest wrestler but he may have been the most loved wrestler..

  • Bruno was the greatest. Vince was a gay blade pussy pants who wanted his own way all the time.

  • Bruno was the baddest man on the planet. The WWF Should put this man in the hall of fame. Shame on you Vince...

  • Bruno refuses. Who knows maybe when he's dead. Poor guy, now he's in his 80s. He hates Vince McMahon Jr. for turning it into the trash it is today. He hates steroid abuse/scandals. He's on the Kurt Angle DVD.

Honkey Tonk man says that's the real Vince McMahon kiss my ass club.

  • He's in his early 70s, actually...don't RUSH him! ;)

  • I wonder how vinces dad would feel about him today, vince sr mad alot of money with bruno, Bruno was vince sr's hulk hogan or stone cold....and vinny jr brushes bruno off, shame on vinny jr

  • A history lesson on gimmicks at the very end.

  • lol you can see 3:24 was so fake!!

  • Thanks for posting this! "Greatest Sports Legends" show. When they did one on Bruno I totally marked out. Yes I remember when this was on.

  • Bruno... 11 years in two title reigns. Neither Flair, Hogan or Backlund matched it.

  • I believe the year for this documentary was 1979; this was when Bruno's days as champion was over, but was still very popular and could still sellout arenas!

  • This was from the old tv series "greatest sports legends" hosted by tom seaver.

  • Yes. Seaver was one of the hosts though. Reggie Jackson and Johnny Bench hosted it in other seasons as well.
