@addy157 Cameras back in those days were simple 8mm cameras that recorded on film. You had to send the film away to be processed. It wasn't expensive and many people had these home movie cameras.

@addy157 There was no camcorders in those days there was 8 mm film on a reel, A neighbour of mine had one and he filmed us playing on the street as kids back in 1965, It only lasted about 10 min's, Even then those cameras were very rare and very few people had one..

@addy157 I agree with the uploader of this video that yes, back in 1961 "Home Movies" as they were called were 8mm cameras. It wasn't cheap nor was it too expensive. Unlike today were just about anyone can buy a video camera it cost a bit so the people who did have "Home Movies" middle to upper class. (Born in 1961) I didn't grow up poor, but in a working class family I always wished that we had "Home Movies" to watch now. But all we have is photos. I'm grateful for that!!
