  • i love sir topham hat's theme

  • What is it with the people here?

Thomas crashes into somebody's dinning room, and they're worried about breakfast, Duck crashes into a Barbershop, he gets a lather, Henry was about to ram into brakevan, and all the fireman was worried about his cocoa, and then the entire "bootlace incident". What is it these people!? Are they just USED to daily train accidents!? That's some corrupt lifestyle. Are these people BUDDHAS or something? They NEVER, EVER get shocked.

    ...Unless the trains are late.

  • I love how Duck demolished his shop and all the barber can muster up is indignation.

  • these shows were so awesome. they were for all ages, even my mom likes them. (as in she didnt think they were stupid) the new version isnt as great

  • the runaway theme in this episode is amazing!!!!

if you listen really closely to it , though, it sounds a bit like the season 3 runaway theme.

  • NOBODY CAN TRUST A DIESEL!!!!!!

  • @kylecartman10 YEAH! WHAT?

  • @maxm2317 DUDE YOU CANT TRUST A DAMN DIESEL! XD

  • The weight of the freight was probably pushing him.

  • 2 questions

    1. why couldnt duck's driver put the brakes on?

    2. What kind of moron puts a barbor shop in front of a rail?

  • @TheOscar401 Well, one situation with the brakes is the sparks could've flown up to the wooden rolling stock, igniting a fire. As for the barbershop, the real estate might've been fairly damn cheap, and the barber must've been real short on moolah, so. . .

    That's what I think.

  • Jesus, I just realised Duck looks like Michael Jackson at 2:42!!

  • Hmm, I always wondered about Duck. He's a Great Western Engine but where does that mean he's from?

    Ireland? Wales? America?

  • @HyperSonicSquall

Duck is from the Great Western Railway, located in western England. Sir Topham Hatt Purchased Duck from them the Other Railway in 1955 to help Percy at Tidmouth.

Sir Topham Hatt apprenticed at the Great Western Railway's Swindon works in Wiltshire county, England. Since Sir Topham Hatt worked for the GWR, he allowed Duck to keep his number, 5741.

Also, Duck's green colour is a traditional GWR colour.

Thought you'd enjoy a little history!!!

  • @joefrompic you have no idea how much I did.

  • @HyperSonicSquall

I'm glad. Thomas isn't just for kids. The videos may seem a little silly, but they really aren't. The Rev W. Audrey (The original writer of the Railway Series) wrote a book full of Sodor's history, from 1100 AD to today. It talks about the kings of sodor, it's railway, and famous people of the island. The only problem is that the book sells for over 500 dollars. If you want any more information about Sodor history or maps etc, email me. joefrompic@gmail . com

    G'day,

    Joe

  • I noticed that when Duck had his accident, Thomas pulled his cars away. And when Thomas had an accident in "Trust Thomas", Duck pulled his cars away. It's nice to have friends, lol.

  • I felt sorry for Duck after get kicked out just because Diesel tells porky pies about Gordon, Henry & James. I hope The Fat Controller scolded Diesel servilely and kicks Diesel out of the Island of Sodor for good!!! Diesel is just as bad as Janine Butcher, Lucy and Archie from EastEnders!

  • This is also like Thomas comes to breakfast.

  • love it when Duck's face get covered with whip cream!

  • You know what's weird about this show though? Thomas breaks the rules like 3 times but he's still the "#1" guy, and Duck never said a word and gets kicked by Diesel and the barber. WTF man!?

  • Say, why'd James stop right after he left the station?

  • look at the brakevan it loses it's face before Duck avoids James

  • The first few series are classics. the shows now lack the same morals taught, originality, and the spark that made Thomas the Tank Engine famous in the first place

  • Ok, I won't lie. I read the title too fast and thought I was going to see some pron involving landscaping "down there".

  • i dont understand why duck isnt shutting his eyes befeore the crash

  • BEST EPISODE EVER!

  • Man, if Duck rear-ended James and his passenger train, it would have been much worse.

  • @ThomasFan3751 but that's just the thing: Luckily, nobody would get hurt!

  • farts

  • george carlin is the best, also i agree with @coldkeyes this shows 10/10 and better then the shows of today.. well the kids shows that are stupid and disrespetful, also cpfan10 has a point :)

  • i love this episode when i was 6 i watched this over and over

  • I love this version of the trilogy the best.

  • This show is classic I think in my opinion this is better than the shows of today most of the shows today are stupid and don't make any sense of storyline and they certainly don't teach kids about being use full and respectful to others and even get them to smile when they are sad. I give this a 10/10 because this combines respect, usefulness, good story line, good music, and very well acted by the cast. The cast of todays shows don't seem to care too much about respect.

  • @coldkeyes you, I LOVE YOU, if your a girl i really love you,

  • Say! Who is leading the group of trucks in pursuit? That's not Toad, isn't it?

No, it can't be Toad. He would never do a thing like that. That must be the Spiteful Brakevan.

  • Clearly not Toad, Toad looks nothing like that! Not to mention that Douglas nor Oliver were around then, I mention Douglas as he saved Oliver!

  • @dboyer15 It's a brakevan.

  • I was at the barbers yesterday. I'm 15 but I could imaged duck breaking the the wall....

  • If your a barber but why would you ever have a shop next to the railway siding?

  • Customers can arrived from the nearest station. Even though he should have the shop away from the tracks

  • @coldkeyes good point

  • Sir Topham Hat? No Ringo Starr? What the fuck happened to this show? I worshipped this as a kid.

  • Sir Topham Hat is the American verison

  • Ohhhh right, What a silly name. Why change it? Would obese Americans be offended?

  • I dont give a fuck about fat people. But what kind of name is Fat Controller

  • A better one than Sir Topham Hat. And the original name...

  • the ORIGINAL name from the Railway series

  • @killerbees177 It's his NICKNAME.

  • gimme ringo and the fat controller

  • @andyg256 Find the UK version of that episode.

  • @hardcoreheaven4 It's the US version.

  • @hardcoreheaven4 George Carlin is basically as good...

  • now this is the best of the franchise, not just this episode (which WAS pretty good) but this season, and I think one or two more seasons after this, but from there it went DOWNHILL FAAAAAAST!!!!! they ruined it now

  • 1:10 where can I find that chase theme?

  • There are differences in sound effects and anything extra put in regarding the difference in Ringo Starr's narration. Here:

    1. Duck whistles when he comes to Edward's station.

    2. You can hear the freight cars laughing at some points during the chase.

    3. Brakes screeching and steam hissing is heard when Duck holds back the cars.

    4. The music is wrong at that point when Duck holds them back.

    5. The crash sound is different when Duck crashes.

    6. Thomas whistles first when everyone welcomes Duck.

  • @101Josiah i'll have to watch Starr's narration again, because i don't think i EVER remember the brakes screeching/steam hissing part, the trucks laughing, and the "different" crash sound

  • The shining time station episode that Carlin narrated this episode was Billy's runaway train.

  • this scared me when i was 2

  • even the vans face i thouht it was the spikeful brakevan

  • when i got thomas comes to breakfast i was like OH HELL ! when i saw that trucks face

  • no he wasnt. they havent introduced the spiteful breakvan yet

  • WHO PUTS A BARBER SHOP IN FRONT OF A RAIL!! and even if there was a buffer he would still crash hes was going too fast

  • Maybe the Island of Sodor doesn't have UPS/Fedex, so they use trains for their deliveries of supplies.

  • good point

  • They have royal first class mail, its UK mail.

  • good point, seems a little silly to me.

  • @cpfan10 The buffer zone was put there so engines could stop and let out passengers from trains to get a shave, or even their driver or fireman.

  • oh yeah your right

  • I always liked this episode, but if he went into the siding, why were there no buffers at the end? Why would you just put a sign with a red circle on it? If there's something like that again, the barber is going to either have another engine in his shop, or some of the troublesome trucks. And, no, I'm not from the UK; I just prefer trucks to freight cars.

  • Good question... even in the US sidings will have buffers at the end.

  • duck never whisted when he came 2 edwards station in uk what up with that and music has gong wrong before he had his brakes, no aneed to be rude

  • RIP George Carlin!

  • I miss him!

  • Me too! It really bummed me out when he died.

  • George Carlin is da best. Everyone else sucks.

  • I don't have a favorite narrator. I think that even though another narrator is telling the story, Thomas is still good.

  • @andrexiostudios Except Ringo. And Pierce Brosnan did okay.

  • Duck should have been in the Steam Team when Season 7 came out.

  • That truck with the huge face always scared me as a child. This whole episode used to scare me... it was just freaky for some reason.

  • This is my favorite Thomas episode of all time. I remember watching this as a little kid, and this is a classic. When i was a kid my favorite parts were with the lathering of Duck's face, and the big face on the last freight car.

  • At 00:37 you can see the spiteful brake van

  • ahhh well actually the spiteful brakevan was destroyed before this episode "siberiabear"

look at the face it's wider

  • non no no no. The spiteful breakvan was after this episode adn book sotory, this was 1958. the spiteful breavan and douglas come in the series in 1960.

  • If u think this was butchered, then you should see salty's lighthouse! Besides we americans use the word cars, the reason The Fatt Controller was called by his real name was because Britt worried about offending us, it's said that our country are the most overweight and unhealthy....

  • shut up, its not as butcherd as u think and in some cases, the US version has been better then the UK

  • You're right there. As soon as season 3 began, and the UK narrator changed to Michael Angelis, it became a horrible series. The narrator in the US version is better, but still:

    Ringo > Carlin > Angelis

And anyway, I'm not bagging the US version. I'm simply stating that I found it amusing of the changes made to the US version. It doesn't make it any less enjoyable.

  • @Shadai2540 That's also because in Season 3 they started writing some original episodes... Bad idea

  • @Shadai2540 I say Brosnan before Angelis

  • In the United States, railroad rolling stock are not called "trucks" or "wagons."

  • Uh...maybe it's because we DON'T SAY TRUCKS IN THE US? It's like you call a truck a lorry.

  • carlin does good voices for the for the fat controller and the reest of the people. that's why i grew up liking them so much.

  • Man, I cant believe how well carlin narrorated this episode. It was just so well done. 10/5

  • finally the us version

  • Yea i think it's another one two. That brake van has the sleepy eyed truck face.

  • originally on Better Late Than Never.

  • Carlin, and Starr are good at this episode but not Agelis he's a clown at this episode

  • Angelis didn't tell this story.

  • I know there are ones were he did though

  • Man, I can't believe it; this is the very first time I've heard George Carlin narrate this episode!

  • Yes it is

  • Taken from Thomas Comes to Breakfast.

  • The brake van wants a good look at Duck so they can change tracks and force him into an accident

  • But when Duck buffers up to the brake van, it doesn't have a face.

  • The brake van has a face.

  • Why'd U suppose when Duck helped Edward up hill, he did it backwards?

  • so the brake van would'nt be talking junk to him????

  • Probably so he could roll back forwards!!!!

  • @systemoperator So that he can be facing forward when they chase him down the hill.

  • That was the spitful breakvan from Donald and Douglas(Break Van UK).

  • not to mention it was destroyed
