If somebody like Judith Butler were asked: what is this? She would never say: this is a bottle of tea. She would say: If we accept the metaphysical notion of language identifying objects clearly and, then, taking all this into account, may we not risk the hypothesis that, in the conditions of our language game, this can be said to be a bottle of tea? @VelvetUndersea She addresses a committee. She is, if you like, part of the audience and speaks out in name of (a large part of) the audience.
