Guys and gals, Silat Olahraga is a fighting sport, just like Olympic TKD, Karate which does not resemble real life fighting as they are governed by their own respective rules. In other words, all the dangerous moves are filtered to suit the rules. Silat Olahraga does not represent Silat in its realistic setting, but neither do Olympic TKD and Karate.

kpd sesape yg ckp perlawanan ni kelam kabut mmg xtau pape ttg perlawanan silat ni..korg jgn igt yg perlawanan silat ni mcm yg korg tgok kat filem kung fu atau muay thai tu..yg ade terbang2 la sepak kene muka trus la..mne ade..sume tu gimik filem je..sbenanye plawanan sebenar camni je..

@IamMasivers95 go and watch muay thai, karate, tae kwon do spar. Kalau kau ingt takde yg sepak trus kena muka tgkla. kalau nak kasi lagi paham, type trus muay thai knockouts or karate knockouts or tae kwon do knockouts. To me, silat sparring has no techniques and no application on what they learn. Why is there other martial arts that can apply but not silat? Do ur research and u'll see what i say is true.

@O0iodine mmg x dinafikan sepak trus kene muka ade tp ni perlawanan olahraga silat cuma bleh serang bahagian badan je.klu serang muka kene amaran..serang badan 2 points klu nk serang kaki kene wat libas buaya atau gunting..xleh main serang je..perlawanan silat ni pon peraturan x sama ngan yg lain..klu muay thai peraturan lwn pon lain and i'm talking about silat ..not muay thai or whatsoever and obviously u know nothing about silat..saudara pon xpenah gaduh pkai silat sbb tu la saudara xtau.. :)

@IamMasivers95 hahahaha, but in ur last statement u said real fights are just like that. Try to speak more clearly. Oh yeah, Im a practitioner of Silat Gayong. So dont tell me i haven't fight using silat. :) Tell you the truth, silat olahraga is boring. They should revise the old rules so youths can apply real silat. I'd like to see you try silat in a real fight. Care to spar? :)

@O0iodine xde masalah..sye setiap mggu sparring dgn kwn2 sye kat zon 3 damansara utama dkt ngn LDP kayu ara jalan cempaka..oh saudara pun silat gayong jugak la ye..dtg la gi zon 3..nama tuan guru muda kami cikgu yusman..kedatangan saudara dialu-alukan.. :)

@O0iodine go & watch how pesilat demo a knockout to opponent's head. dalam sport sparring boleh ker guna teknik jerut & tetak tengkuk & vital point kat kepala? kebanyakan finishing silat di bahagian kepala adalah teknik utk mematikan musuh. boleh pakai ke dalam sukan?

ko kena pandai bezakan antara sukan beladiri & beladiri...nama lagi silat OLAHRAGA. OLAHRAGA tu sukan. what would u expect?

@keown83 Demo's dont do real knockouts. Its called a DEMO. What would YOU expect? Im aware that it is silat olahraga and its a sport. Karate, tae kwon do and even muay thai has its sparring tournaments and its also a SPORT. The difference is theirs are full contact SPORT. Why cant we? Silat has its finishes and so does other arts. One more thing, you could never apply a finish when you fight in a sport even a FULL CONTACT SPORT. Go and do your research then come and talk.
