Not easy....it's a matter of drying it off, working at it with a toothbrush and paint brush, and a low pressure air supply to blow it out from hard to reach bits,it needs a good oiling after cleaning coz of the salt in the sand, really speaking, a beach is not a good place to use one, got rid of mine now and not got a replacement
i agree tht this engine is very hard to start but the reson your all breaking your pullstarts is cause after a few pulls wiv the glow start in the pull start gets harder to pull when this happens and you find your self pulling in back a few inchs and then it stops dont keep pulling it (cause thts wat breaks it) let go and let string go bak in and try again but remember lots of short weak pulls will cause it to keep jaming a few inchs out so big hard pulls are better
I haven't had it accurately recorded, but it's about 45mph, and it gets there very quick,be warned tho', you'll need patience with this car if you are new to it...but when you get the start-up procedure right, it's still a buzz. You'll probably want to go for a revo max / 3.3 after this car. they look amazing
Hi, I have not got an electric starter, I go through a cold start procedure...remove glow plug, prime engine til it spits fuel out, tip excess fuel out, replace plug, place car on a block, give it 1/4 throttle(move servo with electrics off) then fit glow start and pull start it.STOP IF IT FLOODS. blacksmith products have a cheap mod' to use with cordless drill. type STARTER ROD in their search box on website
Hi, yes, I have had this problem... it seems that these are very awkward to get going, but I have learnt that tuning properly is critical! After not using the car for a while I always go back to the same position to get it going, then fine tune it from there, set top screw to 2+1/4 turns out, bottom screw flush with nut, plus 1/4 turn out. Be sure that fuel is going in ok(no bubbles), let it warm up, then lean it off a bit if required, 1/8 turn in at a time
thanks for the help ive eventually got the thing going and well my carb pin thing is only open by about 0.5 mm- 1 mm will this setting rek the engine with been lean?
Hey, I'm assuming this is a VX-18 engine? If so, the factory settings are so rich that there is no way for it to idle slow. Lean out the HSN to 2.5 turns out from close, then the LSN 1.5 from close. That should help.
it has an acme 'go' .18 engine, i've now fixed problem, I fitted a new clutch from SRI remote toys, it works fine now, haven't had time to run it much since fitting it, bad weather...work...etc...etc.
this can happen with any nitro r/c model if it goes out of range, or if interference from another trasmitter happens, fit a fail-safe, 10 quid is a small price to pay compared to a smashed-up buggy
they are crap!!! get a revo 3.3 there great. id race ya with mine. lol no seriosly i was thinking abpout getting one of those but then i got a revo 3.3 and ill never regret it
when the weather's a little better, very soon i hope, been burning clutch by turning idle to max and leaving car against wall for a minute or two, still won't idle with normal settings though
lol, I'm not stupid, just ill-informed by nitrotek, should've bought a decent car, not one that can't be tuned to idle at low revs, thanks for comments anyway, would appreciate any links to different tuning instructions?
ill make ya a video and next time ya try start it 1. prime it 2. once it starts turn ya thv up a bit on ya remote let it warm till ya get some blue smoke then cut it out and start it up then it should be gd to idel and dont for get down=lean up=ritch if you run it to lean you roin your engine hope this helps
lol i take it your new to rc cars then?? you dont were the clutch down do that and it will be even worse u supost to tune it look in ya manual it tels you

big hard pulls are bad for your recoil spring, thats wat snaps the spring, i use 15cm pulls and in bursts and most time it starts in 2-5 pulls
ive got a hpi mt2 3.0
