Well, personally, I can't stand when a band refuses to change it up a little. Soome of my favourite bands are the ones that have a musical versitility (Queen, Garbage, The Killers etc.), and Muse is doing a wonderful job of trying new stuff out. You don't have to like it, but I don't think you should fault them for changing their sound. In my opinion, bands suffer from staying stagnant in their sound. Muse isn't afraid to try something new, and I respect that (and I like this album a fuckload)!

Funny thing is, i find that in listening to all their albums you get a differant band in each one. In terms of sound and lyrics. Its not the same ol' same ol'. I love the new album. I can put the symphony 1-3 on repeat and enjoy it all day.

I wont lie, I wasn't sure what to think about this new album. However, the more that I listen to it, the more I can hear the old Muse within it and the more it grows on me. The sound is just a bit different, but the music is still there.

Are you sure you're not just saying that because they're becoming slightly more mainstream? Because if you ask me, they're doing it really well. They're keeping their originality, but they're also able to write songs that appeal to the radio crowd. Muse is still on the rise, I think.

yes there on the rise because thats what warner music corp does, they take the band to a high they might never reach alone. But they do that by changing there style into mainstream. enventually that will make the older true fans from muse quit, and all that will be left will be the mainstream fans. But in pop showbiz, youre never popular long, which means enventually, mainstream fans will get tired of muse, and THEN they will be finished

Ah, okay. I'm sorry, I'm being a jerk. It just bothers me because there's a lot of people who don't like Black Holes or Absolution... I am wary of, and hate those people. I personally only disliked "Guiding Light" on this album but I can see how some of these songs are a bit of a surprise... you seem legit. I hope they don't go TOO mainstream... but I'm personally pretty comfortable with this album. I'd kill for another Plug in baby, though.

in my opinion, this song is great, love the lyrics and how they mixed the sounds. Muse will not go mainstream because its not their thing. Muse may go in a rock or symphonic direction. Their NEXT album is definitely going to be symphonic.
