@Huelva well the jags in the uk must be better or something because here in america they are just junk. very bad transmissions and electrical nightmares. and for a car that costs 60k it is a disappointment. this car here probably was having bad problems. jags are mostly lemons. even the old v12 jags. we just pull the v12 out and throw it in the junk pile and drop a chevy 350 small block and tranny in it. more power and reliability and better fuel mileage. they are good looking though give props
@cbr900rr919 Its true that v12 Jags have their share of problems, due to the crappy Lucas electrical system and injection, but they're not as bad as most people think... a proper engine recondition wouldn't be much more expensive than a engine swap, and seriously a Jag with a chevy v8 isn't a real Jag anymore, nothing compares to that magnificent v12...

Actually there is every chance this car is still on the road, if you look at the database of all trade-ins the government released, a lot (25%) of 'clunkered' cars were sent to auction houses for what they call 'transferrence' theres a lot of Jaguars included in that list, I'd hope this one would be in it, looks sweet! I drive a '97 XJ6 soveriegn over here in england, there is no way I would trade it in! Even modern hire cars I have driven do not even approach the ride quality the car has.

Whoever turned in that Jaguar is stupid. Those sell for 6 grand in my paper all the time. That sonoma truck could of sold for 3 grand being that it was in excellent shape. My buddy has one that year that has a knocking engine, paint fading, and moldings falling off, and here is one with not a scratch on it, and probably low miles, getting the sodium silicate, and the crusher. Both this Jaguar and that red s10 to the right of it are in both mint condition for their age. Yet we all got to ride around in beat to death cars with engines on their last leg because everyone traded in all the ones that ran good and in good shape. So us responsible people that only buy cheap cars within our budget suffer again.
Not only are they going to crush it, but we are paying for all this! We gave that owner $4500 of our tax money to trade in his Jag. I HATE this program! What about ll the people who are unfortunate and have old eighties model LTDs or REAL clunkers that can't afford a better car.
@rimcofw003 If the dealer hadn't bought it out of his own pocket, some were doing that with the nicer cars that people were bringing in, as I understand it they were only paying up to $4500 (depending on year) and they had to be roadworthy and newer then 1986.
My favorite Brand especially the E-type and the XK8 I can not believe it :(
