I'm probably not the best one to ask since Red's focused heeling is sporatic at best. Teach the "watch" command (looking looking at your face), then progress up to heeling while watching. Also, keeping the treats in your mouth and spitting them for rewards causes the dog to focus on your face where the treats are.

question what did u do to get him to focus on you while heeling its one of the things i never learned how to train a dog to do.
