they are truly amazing bikes but like all machines they have limits and being heavy bikes, you're usually in pretty deep shit when they do let go. i have a fine selection of memories of me being stuck in a snowmobile trail up to my muffler or winching it out of a mud puddle where i couldn't even see the bike anymore... fun times :D
back in the day i thought they where the dumbest bikes made. not any more. now i wished they still made'em and street legal too. i'll be they're great in snow. my 1984 xl100 wasn't too good in the snow at all, yet a buddy's 1984 xl185 was, for some reason it effortless (mostly) plowed thru snow. wierd. i know i know-get a sled. some days it was too much hassle to move the tractor/blower and drag the skidoo out of the shed and the bike was handy

It's pretty late, but they can go about 40 all stock, mine goes about 50 'cause i added a tooth (new sprocket) to the front.
