This all takes place on an asteroid; but asteroids have zero gravity; one step would propel one back out into space. Today's newspaper reported the current administration wants to land a man on an asteroid in the near future but the process would require docking the ship close by since any attempted landing by the spacecraft would result in bouncing back off the surface.
