God damn I miss Old school rap!!! Fucking Big Daddy Kane all day!!! The only thing those old school rappers worried about was how many rhymes and metaphors and punchlines they could throw out there in the quickest amount of time. I fucking miss that!!!!! It made rap fun and it made you think.
Rap in most other nations is disconnected from gangs and violence and drugs etc.
The rap industry is a stereotype towards all the problems they "rap" about.
The topics that make the most money and have the most influence on other people are typically negative.
The stereotype is ironic because it is also the very fuel to the industry. If they didn't embody and try to embellish these stereotypes. They wouldn't have a job.
It can also be seen as a low brow/intelligence form of media.
