  • When Obama won Ohio, I looked over to my family, and said, "The election is over. Obama has won. Obama was leading in all the Kerry states, and Kerry had 252=20 for OH is 272. Boom. Obama wins!"

  • @aj71792 That's exactly when I thought Obama had it in the bag when OH went for him...it was priceless!

  • I was in england and I stayed up all night to watch him elected.......I'm not even American and I cried!!!!!!!!

  • it was truely an electirfied night with hope and wonder in the air! u new the promise of a new dawn for america was on the horizon, i just knew mccain was a no hope dud!

  • yes u are a shameless hussy miss

  • Thank you president Obama for all you have done for the American people under 2yrs. I can only imagine what you can do with 6yrs. God bless our president.

  • Obama is the worst president in modern history.

  • @NomadRepublic and you're and idiot :)

  • @NomadRepublic no, GW Bush is the worst president in modern WORLD HISTORY!

  • @NomadRepublic Still did what [pubic] Bush couldn't, did he not?

  • cool video. I still get chills

  • Amazing!!! So many people who voted and have no idea what he stood for. I think Churchill put it best.."if your young and not a liberal you have no heart. If your 30 and are not a republican you have no brain"

  • Almost two years later, I still can't get enough of these videos. As an Ohio resident who worked hard for Obama, 2:27 is my favorite part :)

  • Republicraps can`t stand a black in the White House ^^.

    They`re just sore losers.

  • @ThreeLions89 You are so RIGHT:) Thank you for your comment!!!

  • MMM. Katie Couric is a hussie, that's why I love her.

  • THE G.O.P. ARE FUCKED THE NEXT 20 YEARS AT LEAST

  • This video gives me HOPE! After a year of hearing of Teabaggers and "Hell no you can't", this gives me the hope to get out the vote in November!

  • Get used to it conservatives, because President Obama is going to win big in 2012!!!

  • @MegaDiarrhea In 2012, Obama winning big would be if he can crack three figures in his electoral vote count.

  • @wyominGangsta The President can win but depending on who the Republican candidate is, Election2012 will be VERY close! The President will HAVE to win PENN and OHIO. He will win the Northeast and West coast, Illinois, Minn, Mich. He'll lose the entire South and the heartland. If young people(18-25) vote for Obama like they did in '08, he will win.

  • @elwin38 i agree but he was in ohio for the midterm election so most likely he will win ohio because cleveland and columbus support him

  • I gotta admit that I'm a hussie for this clip! =D

Well done KC and the gang at CBS News

  • Obama the first half-caste biracial mixed-race president not black

  • @OBAMAisHalfCaste - It's still all about race with you bigots, isn't it?

  • @kchauncey Yes because we refuse to accept the lie that the American news-media and public-service announcments are feeding the world.

  • always vote for the guy the MEDIA never tells you about

  • a bloodless revolution, just as our founding fathers envisioned. god bless america!

  • GOD be with Mr. President.

  • warosu

  • our beloved Nation trusted as well as voted for Our president Obama. I don't believe that Obama voters will ever regret their vote because they knew what Republican did it to this great nation: distroyed, misslead American people. So far President Obama is trying to fix everything that went wrong from 2000-2008 which is not easy to fix it; in deed, Pres Obama is doing a phenominal job..Speeking 2012 he will win big... God bless United States of America. Mr. Pres We believe in You.

  • @Baadil1 Your an idiot. Obama is doing a horrible job. And it's because of his policies that America is so divided. And he will loose in 2012.

  • Give him some time...

  • @08obamavoter: Wow, already? Were you this against Bush at 9/11/02? When he'd already said "Mission Accomplished"? Look at what he's done so far, legislation wise. He hasn't lied to you, but the powers enumerated to the Presidency only go so far without approval of the Congress. Go vote for the Congresspeople that will help him do what you want him to, don't just sit there and moan.

  • You REGRET your vote? So you think we'd be better off with McCain/Palin? We'd be at war with Iran, Honduras, and probably Somalia because of that pirate situation that time. War is his answer, and Palin would have quit to work on her book deals or to get her weave did, cuz she's so mavericky.

  • @Boobalopbop we'll be at war with israels' enemies no matter who's president einstein!

  • Obama is the best that happen to America. People do not realize what it takes to be president of this country. You can dream all the best for America, but your enemies will turn everything around to ruin your plans. I know he'll do his best.

  • Is it just me or does Obama already looks way older after a year in office?

Anyway, can you take some minutes and watch my video. I would really appreciate that.

  • No they just know a good hearted man an president that stand for no bull shit in the fuckn republicans fuck up the country in the first place how in the fuck bush fuck up the our taxs dollars when been spent stupidly an waste full And the people choice Obama Even republicans too but It was time fro a Black Man to get his hands on the White House Shit The Slaves Built It

  • What a night.

  • LOL - Sponsor.

  • Did anyone of you realy think that you ever get a choice?

Yeah! What a choice... Pepsi or Cola... different package, same content ;-)

  • I miss Dan Rather.

  • Hey, I was wondering if maybe you could cry about Obama a little bit more.

  • For something that doesn't bother you, you sure were throwing a tantrum about it a few days ago.

  • That was before the latest news on Obama came out.

  • i agree with bjoh249. i didn't really like Bush, but I have to say that Obama has lied to us, plus he isnt black, he is African-American.

McCain would have won the election if Obama hadnt used this. McCain is a swell and decent man.

  • Obama has not lied to anybody. It's just not possible to accomplish what you wish when you have powerful enemies

  • @DoctorTofwho Oh stop trying to "pretend" you voted for Obama. The fact that you've made "race" a part of your comment shows you're not & never have been a supporter. You're probably a "closeted" Tea Partyer in the same league as that air-head, Sarah Palin. Obama never lied about anything. Your mimicking catch-phrase exposes you for the fraud you are! Probably not even a registered voter!

  • all the corruption, financial fraud, deregulation, recession, subprime mortgages, 9/11, wars, Alquaeda getting stronger, all happened under the Bush regime.

Republicans can't get over the fact that they got their asses kicked and our president is now Obama.

  • Of course Obama is not perfect. I believe that Obama is doing is absolute best, and was the better choice in last year's election.

  • He is losing popularity as we speak for his administration's refusal to accept responsibility for their actions. He is also losing popularity because an increasing number of people are growing tired of his administration and you liberal Democrats playing the race card everytime Obama gets criticized.

  • Comment removed

  • @vgcq02 After the 2012 Election, Obama will still be president for another four more years. Time had to change back in 2008. Bush was heavily responsible for failure from 9/11, spending money on a war the troops were losing, and the recession a year and a half ago. Now I know Obama's struggling, but he's making progress. He's already the first black american as President of the USA. He made history.

  • @tyrese3745 That is right. The only thing that can finish Obama in 2012 would high inflation, enough so that people would rise up against the Fed Bank.

  • What a magical evening. Electoral Landslide.

  • I am poking fun at how you fundie liberal Democrats basically worship Obama like he is God.

  • and you sucked Bush's dick.

  • And you are an idiot liberal who worships Obama like he is God.

  • Great, like I said, when is your Obama going to raise the dead, heal the sick, blind and then die on the cross and be ressurected??

  • Well fine pothead, Obama wins re-election. You just cast your vote for every member of this country. We have had plenty of Republicans elected and re-elected in the last 57 years, I can give the Democrats a turn.

By the way, I am still waiting for your Obama to turn water into wine, heal the sick, heal the blind and raise the dead.

  • That is silly! Race did not intimidate people to vote for Obama. The Republicans just led the country down the wrong path for eight years too many idealogues and neocons in your party. The same will happen if the Obama administration goes the same path. Personally I believe if the health care bill passes and the economy stablizes he will get another 4 years!

  • There was a lot of "vote for Obama or you are racist" sentiment going around during the election, I remember it well, it was only last year after all. I think a lot of people also feared race riots if he were to lose. Democrats are still playing the race card now. Even if the economy improves people are starting to wake up to what Obama really is: a Socialist. The majority of Americans also do not support his government option healthcare bill and it is doomed to failure just like Hillarycare.

  • Time will tell!!

  • Agreed, but heck, I am still waiting on your Obama to walk on water, heal the sick, raise the dead and then die on the cross and be ressurected.

  • I just have one thing to say, WOW! And this is not in a good way. Catch up, and yes I am white and proud of my vote. I was not intimidated into voting for the President.

  • That is all and good, but you people who support Obama have pretty much gone from just supporting a President to absolute worship. I don't think we have ever had a President that has been worshipped like God as much as Barack Obama has. I know many of you Obama supporters are atheists or agnostics, but don't say there is a God and then worship a President like he is Him. I believe in God and I would never worship a politician, Democrat or Republican.

  • Wow, four thumbs down on my statement. You Obamabots can go take a hike!

  • Like the republicans have?

  • In response to the "he isn't doing a good job running the country" that really is yet to be seen. America hasn't been this divided since the civil war, it has rationalists and conservatives (with legitimate fears) wanting different types of change. I really doubt most Americans begrudge a poor man healthcare or like to see corporations running the country but the paranoia has to stop, the man genuinely loves his country, give him the time he deserves before deciding that he can't run the country

  • A measuring stick for Obama has to be the 2010 elections. If loses a whole lot of seats and unemployment doesn't drop, then he is going to have a tough time convincing voters to give him a second term. This goes for any president. I think Dems and Independents who voted for him are asleep at the wheel these last 3 month which has caused this poll numbers to drop. Two things, healthcare has to pass this year and there MUST be job creation and he will get re-elected!

  • I agree, healthcare must pass and 2010 is important but job creation is always the last thing to return after a recession. The United States will be out of recession at least 6 months before we see job creation. The United States is in a very good position for recovery at the moment.

  • Obama has a natural re-election advantage. LATINOS AND THE YOUNG. The two fastest growing voting groups are trending for him very quickly. The next round of first round voters are predisposed to vote for him, as are Latinos. I'm not saying that he will win re-election, but even if the economy his luke warm he has some natural advantages to get to get 300 electoral votes. But if the economy is good or even great he will be re-elected in a landslide.

  • This clip is more about Katie Couric than Obama or the election. Disappointing.

  • oh the corporate shilling!

  • obama is a role model in terms of what he has done to change america but totally disagree with his policies and i dont think he is doin a good job running this country

  • just pray you dont get hurt badly in about 4 years because ul be sitting outside a hospital for months waiting for a doctor because their will be none! with this bullshit health plans

  • You're an idiot.

  • You need medical health, you appear to have brain damage judging by your grammar.

  • Listen to those mccain folks at about 5:30 booing Obama....such gracious losers!!

And the day after the election, I made the mistake of leaving my obama bumper sticker on my car, as I came to my car and found my doors keyed and my outside mirror smashed.

Just makes me want to vote Democrat even more.

  • i'm sorry to hear that. i cant believe it. i betcha obama supporters wouldnt have done that if mccain won.

  • @rawn4203 cocksucker

  • Obama trounced Mccain, and remember, it was the WEST COAST that gave him the victory!!!!

    West coast baby!!!!

  • Obama swept New England as well.

  • As a Democrat the candidates from the GOP that scare me in 2012 are Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee. No other Republican can beat him without another stolen election or the economy crashing.

  • hope not, there are so many better people within the GOP

  • i tought this was the NBA draft

  • Conservatives stole two in a row... not to mention the fleecing of the American people in favor of rich white assholes

  • Actually, Bush cheated 2 elections, forget about stole. Those that say Obama stole the election by buying it, well... He encouraged millions of people to raise money (myself included) to make sure he can campaign where he wants to and WE (American people) wont be robbed again.

  • raising money isn't how he stole the election.

    He stole it with ACORN.

When were the american people robbed?

  • How does registering voters steal an election?

  • registering people who dont exist. another way of saying this would be, "he took peoples vote away". He registered people that don't exist in order to get more votes and get elected.

In other words, ACORN didn't register people to vote for Obama, he registered votes for Obama.

    Voter fraud

  • no he deserved to win

  • Obama won by a 9 1/2 million vote margin. I know someone who's in denial.

  • Did you hear about voter fraud? ACORN?

Registering dead people or people that don't exist to vote for you is cheating

Did you know mickey mouse was a registered democrat?

  • where did you hear that? sean hannity? what the fuck does registering dead people mean anyways? how the fuck did these zombies vote in the election EVEN if they were illegally registered. IDIOTS. republicans are IDIOTS.

  • It means well they registered dead people. Duh. I don't think I need to explain that. They registered people who don't exist to add more votes to Obama. Duh. Acorn is responsable for voter fraud.

Republicans are idiots? Tell me, what makes the republicans any dumber than the democrats?

Democrats are the ones who constantly play the race card. They are the ones who defend terrorists (at least the liberal ones do). Democrats destroyed the economy, not Republicans.

  • Republicans are idiots because they're out of touch with reality. Have you read the polls. the MAJORITY of americans want a public health plans, republicans CANT READ because they constantly say Americans DON'T want a public plan. Liberal Democrats are idiots too, but Obama is not a liberal. A true liberal or socialist would laugh if you suggest Obama is one of them.

  • Republicans are out of touch with their base. They can read just fine, they just don't agree with what the majority of americans believe on the healthcare issue. That doesn't make them stupid.

What do you mean "Obama is not liberal"? He has the highest liberal voting record in the US senate. His voting record is even further left than Bernie Sanders (I) of Vermont. Bernie Sanders is himself a socialist.

  • Obama is not a senator anymore. He's the president. And he has and will evolve. He was groomed to become president long ago, so relax and understand American politics that they are more complex than just a black man from Chicago getting elected after serving 4 years in the senate. He was meant to be the president of the United States. It's ridiculous how Americans are stupid and don't see that this man was groomed and selected, then of course elected.

  • You calimed he wasn't liberal. and I told you why he is indeed liberal.

I see more than just "the black man got elected". What I see is "a little boy with no experience is the most left wing and the most fiscally irresponsible president in American history." Thats what I see.

He was elected, but I am going to criticize him when he does wrong.

Obama reminds me of someone who would help create a mess and then blame someone else for it being there.

  • I think you are talking about voter REGISTRATION fraud, which is entirely different from voter fraud. For voter registration fraud to actually have any effect on the outcome of an election, someone claiming to be mickey mouse would have to actually show up and cast a ballot.

  • Liberals will be in the white house for a long time to come thank god (finally) James Carville said on Bill Maher's show he thinks that the Dem's will be in power for most of the next 40 years (like the REPUB'S were between 1968-2008...I think there is a good chance of him being right, why wouldn;t there be?

  • Let's hope so!

  • Awesome.

  • Is there a Republican who can beat Obama? Probably not as of right now? Romney? Mr. Flip Flop? Sarah Palin? Next Question?

  • Obama is like Eisenhower. There is no Republican at this present time, that I can see, that can defeat Barack Obama.

  • I don't think its that theres not a republican it just depends on the time. If the economy's bad in 2012 of course Obama could be defeated. I wouldn't make any comparisons just yet

  • I must disagree. The economy will likely re-build itself before 2012, which plays in Obama's favor. But, even if it is still bad, Americans will not want Republicans in charge at all because the worst of the recession occurred under a Republican administration. People will still remember the disasterous Bush presidency. Besides, I say Obama cannot be beat by any Republican because the Republicans are greatly disorganized, and if they have leaders like Rush Limbaugh, the Republicans are finished.

  • I see what your saying but I base my arguments on one thing: inflation and the expiration of the bush tax cuts. With all this spending, Obama's going to need a lot of treasury bonds, and their interest rates to paying them back will go up with mroe money borrowed, which is inflationary because then taxes will go up to pay it. Then if the Bush cuts are allowed to expire, that'll be a HUGE increase on everyone and the economy will tumble again into 2012 and will badly hurt Obama

  • Katie Cuntlips

  • meh

  • if Palin becomes president who the hell is going to take her serious.

  • what the fuck is wrong with you

by the way your overconfident, arrogant, self-applauding remarks aren't clever.

  • The great thing about America is that you can choose whichever candidate in elections you prefer. If you want to be a Communist, there's nothing I can do to stop you.

  • you're a fucktard.

  • At least I don't have to resort to obscenities to get my point across. Clean up your language!

  • Yes we can and yes we did!

  • I would love to know who the Newscasters voted for. I'll bet the overwhelming majority voted for Obama.

  • They had great reason if they did... McCain gave us no reason to vote for him. Palin was an embarrassment to any American with an education beyond the 6th grade that wasn't blessed with great cheekbones, hair, tits and legs. Obama is our country's choice for President

  • lol! i totally agree with you!

  • Gee ya think?

90% of the news media has always voted for the Democrats.

    I wonder why?

Perhaps it's because people who work in the media have to learn a great deal about a great deal.

They are the usually most well informed people in Washington.

That's why they are Liberal, that's why they are Democrats and that's why they vote for the Democrats 90% of the time.

  • You're probably right. I'm sure after Palin's disasterous interview with Katie Couric, McCain couldn't count on Couric's vote. lol

  • yeah...good guess..because obama won the college educated vote, the rich vote, and the intellectual vote...gee...I wonder why most newscasters voted for him...

  • That's an easy enough answer. It's their job to be out there and be in the know involving World affairs and events. Therefore the rhetoric of the McCain campaign didn't fool them one bit. They know the backgrounds, history, and truth involving All politicians, therefore they knew this country couldn't afford a McCain/Palin presidency. Our country would have been outcasts and a laughing stock around the World.

  • 3:38

    I love thows words

  • Cool highlight reel. Although, I must say that music got to be a bit too repetitive!

    Love ya, Katie!

  • warota

  • I'm not going to guarantee an Obama win in 2012, but he has some big natural advantages. A 10 million vote advantage in 2008, first time voters in 2012 will trend for him heavily, like 2008. I think a lot of people who got frieghtened by the "muslim-terrorist" stuff will realize that he isn't some wierdo, he's pragmatic & a decent man, even if they don't agree with him politically, they will feel lied to by the whisper campaign.

If the economy is strong in 2012 he could win in a landslide.

  • basicly the econimy will not be completly better but even 50% better is enough for him to say in 4 years we will completely fix it also someone said the only way he can lose is a terrorist attack on american soil which will never happen again

  • Reagan cleaned up the economy completely in less than one term with tax cuts and unprecendented slashes in the federal government. If there is no measurable progress by 2012, I will vote for the Republican candiadate.

  • Please, the GOP could run kermit the frog and miss piggy in 2012 and you would still vote for them....just who do you think you are fooling here????

  • Oh, you're so wrong.

Yes Reagan passed the biggest tax cut in history but 2 years later he passed the biggest tax increase in history when he saw the enormous debt the original tax cut had caused.

Of course Dubya had all the bravado of Reagan in 1980 and none of the wisdom of Reagan in 1982.

10 trillion debt. What an idiot.

  • Just one more thing:

Vote for the Republican in 2012?

Go for it. You and the white male south can bring your Jesus lovin', gay bashin', gun totin' asses to the polls while the rest of humanity passes you by.

I just re-read that. The last part was too harsh, sorry about that. It may not apply to you, but it does apply to Republicans.

  • A lot of them.

not all of them but a lot so don't feel too bad

  • Great highlights! Obama 2012!!!

  • Mitt Rommy nor Paline or Jindal can't and will not be able to beat president Obama in 2012 Obama is too power full to get beat by those people who allready run and could not win are you kidding me; remember American people spoking and spoking clearly Nov 4, 2008 and I believe from the battom of my heart our beloved Nation will speek clearly in 2012 and the economy will get better nex couple monthes hopefuly!! myGod bless United States of America and my God continue to bless Our president Obama!!

  • I hope you're right. I'm worried about the GOP tricks. I voted for Obama too and I want him to be one of our greatest presidents.

  • I'm praying for Palin and Jindal to be the ticket in 2012, they will get blasted of the map! They won't win 100 electoral votes.

  • i totally agrre with you on that!

  • lol i know

  • All because of Jindal's speech? oh Please! You obviously havn't heard much about him, he's a very smart politician and person, just watch him in interviews! He's young too and charismatic, something Obama is too, and if he's against him and OBama's vulnerable in three years Jindal could easily oust him. Man liberals are supposed to be intellectuals but you people on the other hand are so dumb you can't walk and chew gum at the same time!

  • lol

  • Watched this again today. After listening to Rush Limbaugh and John McCain rant and rave(disgusting), I came back here for that "feel good" experience of the Best Side of America. One of the most memorable experiences in my 54 years of life!

  • Ms. Couric is funny.

  • tell you what i watched every minute of this live . still brings a tear to my eye

  • I wish Couric wouldn't have changed her hairstyle. It looked so much better this way.

  • Yeah, I like Katie's haircut in this video better.

  • I love this theme!

    I also love democracy.

I don't think the McCain campaign went in with high expectations anyways.

  • This night was the best night ever my entire life other than my birth-day. I voted our president who will do a great job; I'm so greatfull to our beloved nation how they voted Nov 4,2008 which was awasome night I'll will never forget that we finaly have in the White House an intellectual man well done!!

  • Zerobama, if Palin can't answer simple question, then don't ask for our vote. And nobody appointed anyone President, we voted for Obama.

  • Other than the birth of my two girls, this was the greatest day of my life.

  • whats the cbs election theme

  • could someone tell me the name of the background theme

  • it's the main CBS news theme, one of the many mixouts.

  • Am still miffed that there are so many dumb Americans, in their millions, whose representative could be as "smart" as Palin.

    Katie Couric actually looks sweet.

    Llatwin2,U.K.

  • LOL @ Palin supporters

Even bigger LOL @ Republicans in exile

  • stupid capitalists !!!!
