  • fluffy brush?

  • If you want to try it for yourself, I found this website that is giving away the entire Bare Minerals collection every hour for the rest of October. tinyurl(dot)com/3kxv4sy ALL you have to do is submit your e-mail and you're entered to win.

  • to tell the truth, your skin is beautiful enough without the makeup @@

  • I like the natural side. It looks healthy. The bare mineral side is pale and "too perfect".

  • you are so pretty!

  • The only make up i can use on my skin is Bare Minerals, so... thank you :)

  • I also just put up a video with my bare minerals tutorial :-) Check it out!

  • thanks for sharing. I dont use foundation but i tried their concealer it's quite good but not for dry skin!

You look lovely though. looking forward to more vids :)

    Have subbed

  • Apart from some other comments, i thought the color matched your neck perfectly. And i also appreciated the fact that you did one side at a time. =)

  • any advice on washing the brushes?????

  • @crzychk77 Not sure how professionals suggest to do it, but I take my brushes and let a gentle, slow stream of luke warm water run from my faucet. Wetting my brushes lightly, I use a really soft face wash (I personally like to use Dermalogica - it makes my brushes really fluffy - but you can use either an actual brush-washing formula or a VERY gentle face wash), and I rub the soap into the brush, was it off, and repeat. I dry it lightly with a face towel and set to dry on its own over night. :)

  • @Difficultmind thank you so much for the great tip!!! :-) i'll definitely try dermalogica. (your advice sounds professional enough to me, hehe)

  • @crzychk77 No problem, glad to help!

Dermalogica is actually a little pricey, and it can't be found in regular pharmacies, but usually beauty parlors have it. However, if you're looking for a pretty gentle face wash - to use not just on your brushes, but for your face as well! - I highly recommend it. It doesn't dry out your face, and it does a decent job cleaning. :) Price range in the forties - but I think it's worth it. I use "Clearing Skin Wash", but you might want something different. :)

  • I think the bare minerals shade was a little to light for you skin tone. It left your skin looking ghostly and flat, unless its rhe camera.

  • your skin looks great before and after - only flaw is the colour you used looks to light for your skin

  • BareMinerals gives me a lot better coverage than MAC or any other foundation. MAC made me break out really bad, and so did all the others. But I can sleep, sweat, or do anything without my skin getting really bad with this makeup. And it also doesn't rub off easily like most makeups. I love this stuff. :D

  • is bare minerals water proof sweat proof uv proof? does it rub off when u touch someone?

  • I'm glad that someone else out there puts on concealer after foundation. It seems like when they put the concealer on first, then buff in the foundation, the buffing takes some of the coverage away from the concealing.

  • i really love your intro..lmao to cute

  • what shade are u using?

  • ya right bitch

  • what brush did you use for the foundation

  • U have really nice skin

  • Concealer after def!! Nobody likes to buff off the coverage they just so tediously applied!!

  • thank you soo much for making this!

  • I use bare minerals but my face gets oilly and it ends up rubbing off :/

    which it annoying D:

  • Nice tutorial. You have gorgeous skin! You actually don't really need foundation or a concealer. Wish I could say the same..lol. Do you use any type of moisurizer on your skin before you apply the BM?

  • I went to sephora and I tried it on my hand... And it was shimmery/sparkly. Has anyone else had that problem?

  • are you kidding you are freaking beautiful WITH and WITHOUT makeup. you just look sooo natural and beautiful without thats it.

  • i tried sheer cover and it does not work

  • u have really nice skin, i wana see how well BE covers up blemishes and what not.

  • i have a lot of dark spots and blemishes or w.e and this is the only makeup that completely covers them i look flawless when i put it on and ive also used Smashbox liquid foundation which is good but doesnt cover blemishes like Bare minerals

  • Hey I love this video I was debating on buying bare minerals or other brand, but after watch this video, I'm soo buying ! thank you, you are really cool ! by the way beautiful skin.

  • don't buy any other brand... bare escentuals/minerals is the best make u around! at first i bought it but in the wrong color and i hated it, but the i went to the bare escentuals store and i got matched to the right color and i got addicted to it! i am sure u will love it! good luck!!!!

  • if you have large pores its not the best makeup. So i gotta keep em' clean. I need to be on a daily/nightly skin care routine in order for the makeup to look amazing. It covers pinples better then a blackhead.

  • whats a mineral veil?

  • u hav rele gd skin

  • what song is playing at the very beginnning!?

  • @shellfonez I think that it (the song) is Catch My Disease by Ben Lee.

  • i know in the starter kit it also comes with "warmth" i noticed you didn't apply it...do you not like the warmth??

  • I love Bare Minerals <3

I have tried others, but this foundation feels like it hugs & protects my skin while making me look beautiful :)

  • ive been looking for a new make up and ive decided ill gie bare minerals a try, thanx

  • Thanks for the great video. I just bought bare mineral starter kit yesterday but the DVD wouldn't play for me so I looked here. You are a very pretty girl and I really appreciate the help.

  • I loved this review! And you're pretty without make up as well with it on. [:

  • Which is better sheer cover or bare minerals?

I already use a maybelline powder which has natural ingrediants in it and its great. But if bare minerals is going to be even better then i may as well get it. I love the natural make-up!

  • @mekissingyou both of them i would recommend [i use both when i do my makeup] but the bare minerals seem to be more even when i put it on. i've never used maybelline, but a couple of my friends have and then switched to B.M. its your choice but I would recommend it.

  • Hey thanks so much for the reply. I will deffo be considering buying bare minerals :)

  • well the reason it get messy when you tap it is because your using WAY TO MUCH!!! and your not spreading it around enough either thats the waste of makeup your using ten pounds of it in one spot.

  • i got the bare minerals mineral veil brush and it has the mineral veil finishing powder built in so all you have to do is shake it and its on the brush so cool!

  • Maybe it's just your camera, or maybe I'm crazy...But I only see a very subtle difference between you with makeup and you without. =/ When you put it only on one side, the side you put it on looked really pale and light. The side without the makeup looked awake and natural.

  • can someone please tell me where i can purchase the bare minerals foundation? I've been wanting to kno!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i have a ton of bare minerals products and if you have an ulta near you, they carry bare minerals there. you can probably get them online but i prefer getting them @ ulta

  • Sephora, the bare minerals store, ULTA or online :) the cost is the same at all the places

  • sephora

  • at rits...

i'm going tomorrow to get mine.

  • i just ordered mine online @ Nordstrom

  • hi great vid :)

i think the mineral veil is supposed to be a setting powder, have you noticed a difference in how long your makeup lasts if you use the mineral veil or not?

also my set came with a kabuki, not buffer brush, do you know any good dupes for the 'buffer brush'?

btw you can use tape over some of the holes to control how much product comes out at a time.

    ciao bella!!

  • Hey thank you! Just got this for christmas and your tutorial was really helpful, pretty girl!

  • in my kit there is four different little foundations or whatever they're called. i don't know in what order i am supposed to apply them on my face. can someone please tell me like "you apply this one first, this one second, etc..." because im really lost in this bare minerals process even though i watched the dvd.

  • i dont think you need all of those colors, lol they are there so you can find the best match. then you only need to use your match and the mineral veil. you can use the warmth for bronzer. i only use one color from my set, no warmth (too dark) & no mineral veil, but thats me. i put a sticker on the one that matches my skintone and store the others somewhere else.

  • @NatiMartuClari You first apply the foundation which has a name on the bottom it could be light, medium beige, medium, whatever color you may be.You apply that with the tallest fullest brush, or the shorter brush depending on how much coverage you want. After you've reached your desired look, you can also use the concealer brush which is the shorter, more tightly packed brush. Then, you will use the mineral veil, again stated on the bottom. You can use it with the same brush if you would like.

  • @NatiMartuClari Then, use the container labled warmth, for an all over bronzy glow. Hope this helps! :)

  • hahaha until you said "i only put BM on one side of my face" I was thinking "Does she know that one side of her face looks different?!" haha :)))

    you have amaazing skin too!

  • wow you have such great skin!! lucky u

    thanks for the video :D

  • Very helpful video! Love it!

  • you are nice love it thanks.

  • ITA with carrieleelee! :-)

  • definatly need the medium color foundation.. if not the beige!

  • which one is better this on sheer cover?

  • she's totally using it wrong. she didnt even prime her face! you have to TAP THE EXCESS, or you will have fallout just everywhere. and the mineral veil is supposed to be used VERY little, its not for coverage. its to smooth out brush lines or anything of that sort.

    horrible video.

  • she's not doing it wrong, she's just doing it the way she prefers.

she never claimed that this was the only correct way to apply the foundation

  • hi, not sure why you're talking about me in 3rd person. anyway, if using it the way you described works for you that's awesome :) i actually don't use BM any more, but when i did, this worked best. TAPPING THE EXCESS is what gets powder everywhere. i never had fallout. you are right about using very little mineral veil, but it is to set the makeup, there should be no brush lines since it's not an emollient product.

  • and, if you care to dig through the hundreds of comments on this video, you'll also find that BM supports what i've shown here, too :)

  • i LOVE bare minerals :D

i recommend that every girl should buy it. haha :)

the only thing that i dont like are the brushes.

i dont like how they feel.

i bought separate brushes but that's just me :)

besides that, bare minerals is great!

  • is it recommended for teens?

  • definitely.

  • i think u should do medeium color

  • keep in mind the video distorts color a little. i am very, very pale, and medium would have looked orange on me.

  • I have been using bare minerals for 6 years and love it...I have a similar technique to you, but when I don't tap the brush after swirling, I find that wherever I first put the brush on my face, the powder goes on WAY too heavy and leaves a cakey look that can't be undone without washing your face and starting over. This makeup is pretty fool-proof unless you put on way too much! Instead, start with thin layer of foundation and go back in with your concealer brush to touch up spots. Cheers!!!

  • the reason they have you tap it is so it gets more in the brush. you tap it with the bristles facing up and the powder gets compacted in the brush...

but anyways i love bare minerals myself. i have rosacea so i have TONS of red to cover, and im pale pale pale so it really stands out. bare minerals covers it really well and makes my face look really good! but its all in the application of it. if you dont apply it the correct way, it wont look that good! and thats no lie

  • Flawless! love it! i love your blush technique!

  • I think your make-up looks good. I'm not a fan of "barely-there" make-up, but not too cakey. I love bare minerals, but I don't think it covers as well as I want it to. I don't know. I can;t find something I love yet?

  • Try the bisque....it is the best coverage bare minerals sells. ( i have redness and acne scars and been using bare minerals for 6 years) :D

  • lol yeh she is using loads...my bff uses this and she uses like a pea size and dats kl 4 her....swirl tap and buff girl....swirl tap and buff!!

  • haha, i STARTED tutorials on youtube. :)

if you want to dig through the hundreds of comments on this video you'll find that BM themselves supported my method. it's whatever works best for YOU.

  • best make-up that every existed

  • there aren't rules in makeup. i'm glad you've found something that works for you, but ...there aren't rules.

  • @TiffanyNo3l i agree with you 100 percent! i did the exact same method and it worked beautifully! i have redness around my nose and cheek area and i just concealed then swirled then tapped then buffed and it looked perfect and natural!

  • It doesn't work for me. I don't know why. My husband guessed the wrong side of my face had the makeup on it when I tested it.

  • that would be because he's a man hunny, and cannot tell,

and does not give a shard.

  • it's not my favorite foundation. this video is pretty old, haha. i've been using MAC foundation for over 2 years now :)

  • @amy04 which mac foundation do u use?liquid or powder??which one do u reccomend??i been on a hunt for a foundation for quite a while now

  • don't you put the prime time foundation primer before you start anything ?

  • Haha. fortunately your skin was nice before-hand.

    :)

  • you use wayyy too much you don't need to use that amount !

  • SO I READ THE REVIEWS AND THIS CHIK DOENT USE "BARE MINERALS" NE MOR! PERSONALLY SHE WAS USING WAAAAYYY 2 MUCH ! (thats why it was "cakey" nd dint last long for her) as for the order to use it 1. CONCEALER (bisque) 2.FOUNDATION 3. WARMTH (if u wnt) 4. MINERAL VEIL! SUPER EASY! AND THE STARTER KIT IS LIKE $60 TOTAL!

I LOVE IT !!!!!!! HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT!!!! YOU SHOULD BUY IT RIGHT NOW!!!!! Lol!

  • for the concelear, you use the same foundation that u use all over ur face??

  • i have the fluffy brush and the concealer brush but not the bufferr. i lost it, :(

  • Do you put on a lotion or primer of some sort before you apply all of this?

  • Wow, amazing.

  • Would you consider the fairly light to have a reddish tone? I have the two medium tones at the moment and they have a reddish tone to them which really bothers me because I am trying to get the red out of my skin. Do you think the fairly light is more of a "cool" color?

  • well in some case with people who have fair skin tend to show redness more.

and dark makeup isnt always the way to go if you have red skin and your trying to cover it.

the best thing that i can tell you is to use concealer it really dose wonders for you but you can always try using to mineral veil in the starter kit too if you have that. cause i use the mineral veil plus the bare minerals foundation and it works really well or you can try and other concealers like green it works extremely good(:

  • important question!

WHERE CAN YOU BUY JUST A KIT OF THE BARE MINERALS YOU NEED AND NOT ALL THE EXTRA STUFF LIKE THE BRUSHES AND VIDS?

  • sephora

  • you can try the boutique's but its going to cost you more money that way.

  • You should probably just go to Sephora or Ulta and buy what you want separately. It's a makeup line and you can buy whatever you want - it doesn't need to be in a kit.

  • hora

  • i have all the brushes there not that great

like you say though and yeahhh:]

  • The order is supposed to go concealer with the foundation, then all over application with the foundation, warmth is supposed to go on all of the 'high' areas of your face [i.e. cheeks, nose, forehead and chin] and then mineral veil is used to top it all of! Hoped that helped!

  • actually, i watched the dvd that comes with it and you apply the foundation THEN concealer

  • Ummm...I had watched the infomercial for years before I decided that I would try wearing foundation [never had the need for it in junior high] and Leslie [the creator] ALWAYS uses it as a concealer and then a foundation! Example: when she covers the girls rosacea! I never watched my video because I had seen it done on the infomercial and QVC so many times by the woman who created it all...I'm just saying! And what sense does it make to put concealer on top of your foundation?!? Haha!

  • i definitely recommend putting concealer on after foundation. your foundation will cover much of your flaws. if you put concealer on first, you end up using a lot more product. it makes a lot of sense, it's just new to you :)

  • hey well i watched yur video and it helped me a lil but i hve a question ... i bought the starter kit and watched it , and it really didnt help me so like basically my difficulty is which goes first , secound so on and so forth... i have the foundation, the spf 15 sunscreen foundation and the mineral viel and the warmth.. so what order would it go in? do i use all 4 or jus 3 4th opptional? or what im so confused and hopin for yur help thankss soo much.. gladys!

  • gladyselizondo:: you would use the foundation first, (i use the spf sunscreen one) using your full coverage kabuki brush, then the warmth, (i apply it over my forehead, and over my nose and cheeks) using your flawless face brush, then you use your mineral viel and apply it all over the face, also using your flawless face brush. Careful not to use too much warmth though, just remember a little goes a long way.

  • looks great!

  • It does not look cakey if you put the mineral veil on first you would be amazed at how much better i was just wondering what it would do and i tried it if looks flawless and makes the pores look smaller i love it.. and then put a tad bit on after

  • Personally, I think (the gorgeous!) Amy is putting too much foundation on. She doesn't use this product anymore because it looks "cakey" - but that's ONLY if you wear too much.

The tapping after swirling does not waste the product, as only a little dust should fall from the brush. Don't put more foundation on the lid than what you can swirl into the brush.

This foundation builds with time, it looks better after 20 mins, even better after 3 hours from application. Less is definitely more!

  • For me, this is the best foundation I have ever tried. It stays on all day, looks natural and healthy, and there are no lines or problems with the shade. The brushes as well are very high quality and should always be used with this foundation.

So anyone just starting with Bare Minerals, go easy, especially on your first days! It takes about two weeks for your skin to really start embracing the foundation, so take your time, wear a little bit of it every day, and enjoy :).

  • i definitely think that the foundation is best for people who don't want a lot of coverage. unfortunately, i am SO not that person. i am more than happy with my switch to MAC foundation :)

  • Wow im going to buy bare minerals

    You look amazing!

  • wow i am going to buy bare minerals your skin looks great !!!

  • I like how you apply the makeup on half your face. It really makes a bigger impact and shows the differences on a different level rather than a before-and-after shot. You see 'em as you go along.

    Thanks.=)

  • you have beautiful skin, what kind of lotions do u use?

  • I just wanted to say "thank you" for posting this; I just got the starter kit yesterday and tried doing what they said on the dvd. I became really frustrated because the coverage was lousy. After trying your "tap in the lid" method, I was amazed at how much better it looked! Thanks again!

  • wow. thanks =)

i'm not sure you need foundation though, you have very pretty skin.

and btw i'm not 'cammy' i'm his sister on his account, do'nt worry ;) x

  • wow! you look amazing!!! omg

    thanks for the tutorial :)

  • Wow!

    It's really good.

You're really pretty though and have good skin so you don't need it.

One tip: when you're applying make-up etc on your face and also when you are taking it off with a wipe never brush down because it makes your skin age quicker.

People please don't think I'm talking shit my Mom's a trained beautition so she knows these things lmao. Plus she's goreous and follows those rules.

Great vid. I'm thinking of getting some of this so thanks.

    X's

  • just because your mom is a beautition doesn't mean she knows what she is talking about. I have never heard of that.

  • excess tugging actually does stretch your skin causing you to get early wrinkles

  • it's the truth. you're supposed to be very careful with your skin. the more you pull on it the more it stretches and wrinkles appear sooner. crows feet, nasolabial folds? stretchmarks?

  • your skin is PUUURRRFECT girl! :*

  • UR SO PRETTY

  • Can you tell me if it dries out your skin because most powders/minerals do.

    Please help! :)

    Amazing video btw.

  • wut are bear minerals????

  • RJwil2stepurface, i have no clue what 'bear minerals' are but bareMinerals is a mineral makeup brand by Bare Escentuals.

  • Bare Minerals a mineral makeup.

  • AMAZING

  • heres a tip even though it looks like you have none on your brush you do so instead of dipping it in constantly keep rubbing the brush around your face unless you want to waste the makeup!!

  • WOW! This stuff looks great! i can't even tell that you have make-up on, it looks REALLY natural!

I think I might try this stuff!

  • i love this shietttt lol i put mineral veil on after i put my blush on!or if i dont ill put it on after all my makeup i done.ill sometimes use the feather light one i loveee itt!!

  • yo have really nice skin tone. what is your skin routine?!

  • BARE MINERALS DOESN'T TEST ON ANIMALS, EITHER! :D

Plus, it's a lot healthier than most makeup at Wal Mart and such. Those makeups contain so many chemicals!

This stuff is so good for you, you can sleep in it.

  • Wow the difference is really noticable! I'm SO buying some! =]

    Thanks!

  • ok so i just switched to mac and i think that its kinda working good but like it is st if i have an itch on my face the make up will come off but one question how muc did you get your mac for i got my set for like $35.00

  • I use bare minerals in the morning before i go to skool. My face looks good but during the day my bare minerals comes off even thoe im using mineral veil to keep it from comin off. Througght the day i have to keep fixing it in the washroom and i don't want to keep worrying it about it anymore can u help?

  • yep, get a new foundation. i stopped using bare minerals a long time ago, even though a lot of people are just now finding this video i decided i didn't like it after about six months. i found it gave me coverage but looked cakey and it didn't last as long as i would have liked. i now use mac foundations.

  • what is the mineral veil suppose to do or what is it for?

  • wow that looks great on you.

  • I've been wanting bare minerals for awhile but I'm worried about how much it costs! Does it cover as well as a liquid foundation? And do you have to use any extra concealer or anything in addition?

  • omg... you look beautiful without the make up and you even look better with it! i'm totally buying bare minerals.

  • Fairy Light - my colour toooooo!

  • I have old wrinkly chemo skin. I used to have good skin and because of chemo treatments I have aged, REALLY aged. Not only am I bald, I have bad skin. I should check this stuff out. Does it have a fragrance? The smell of make up makes me sick to my stomach.

No fair! You have beautiful skin to begin with. :D

  • No, it doesn't have a fragrance. I have SUPER sensitive skin, and I hate how most makeups smell, and I love this. I swear by it. I wouldn't wear anything else.

Get a starter kit and check it out.

  • Chemo as in chemotherapy for cancer? :( Bless your heart.

  • My mother has gone through chemo treatments and has aged a little bit. If you cleanse with almond oil or grape seed oil you'll plump up a little bit more. It does sink nto wrinkles ans black heads /trust me/ so you have to really learn how to buff it on. Estelauder has some really beautiful light difussing make up for about the same price. Apply with a sponge. Oil you face at night, moisturize for day. Also retin a helps with that/ RENOVA. but theres a storm before the calm when using it

  • thanks for the video

  • What about coverage?

  • thanks :)

and ur preety even widout da makeup :)

  • wow your skin is beautiful

  • the sound quality is horrible!!!

  • You look better without the makeup!

  • Gorgeous!

How fabulous!..I was doing my research about bare minerals, cam across your video...well done!

  • no offense but you kinda look like octo mom...

GUYS don't get mad but that was just my opinion...

I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! SO MUCH!!

  • awsome!

it truely does give a flawless look. i like how you did half of your face

when i put it on, i don't notice the coverage. but now i can see. great!

  • i personally think you look better without the makeup.

    you're skin is beautiful! :D

& omg, that stuff really makes you pale.

  • trace gold looks super nice on you!!!!

  • Do you use the three step system from clinique?

  • thanks!!! it hepled a lot!

  • Hey babe, hello, this is the husband here! Beautiful face!!

And thanks to you the wifey barely made a $75 purchase!

  • You have such clear skin! You look younger than me...cherish your skin! I am almost 23 and had 100% no zits all through school--just started having HORRIBLE acne at 21. Don't take clear skin for granted, ladies!!!

  • can i have ur skin ,its beautiful!

  • Yes, you do have really good skin! Your very pretty... I'm saying this in a non-creepy way btw. LOL!

  • i love bare minerals... best make up EVERR!!

  • You did a very nice job on this. Thank you. But you do have gorgeous skin. I'm hoping someone with flawed or mature skin will be brave enough to post a similar video.
