  • MR played it with a freshness and grace and reserve that so fit the character of the piece. Bravo!

  • SUPERB TONE...

  • beautiful

  • danke ,ich liebe Musik von M.Rabin.

Ich kenne nicht so viel es gibt aufname.

    Japaner

  • The accoustics are not kind to this recording. However, the piece is beautifully played by a superb young artist. His passing was a huge loss to classical violin. Thanks for posting.

  • :) Po prostu świetne :)

  • i always know this song by the first note

  • the beginning reminds me of Bioshock for some reason

  • @fishpig20 Well the old television broadcast voice maybe.

    -Gamer and classical enthusiast here

  • @txmusician13 Awesome same here

  • Such feeling in this version.

  • Lovely, lovely.

But how ironic that he lived in fear of falling off the stage, and died as a result of a lesser fall that nevertheless caused a lethal concussion. It's too bad that such a fine talent came to an end so soon.

  • Rabins performance -while lacking the technical brilliance of Heifetz- has a warmth that is absent in Heifetz's

  • @Nightsurf59 technical brilliance? lacking? what!!!!!! he had just as much if not more technique than Heifetz.

  • A truly historical recording and very beautiful. It comes next to Jascha Heifetz's version which is from another world! But Michael Rabin also captures its incandescent mood. He's such a master of the violin, my first thought here. Sorry his life was so short.

  • Heifetz is the best person who played it.

  • Another in a long list of winners. Bravo! TY.

  • Jacques Thibaud's version puts Rabin's and Heifertz' version in the shade. Unfortunately it's on Pearl's Recorded Violin Vol. 1, hard to find and expensive. For beauty of tone, Kreisler is unmatched though I don't think he recorded this work. The Rabin version is pleasant.

  • @2ndviolinist kreisler is soo underrated. His playing has an unrivaled charm and sweetness of tone which far too often tends to go unnoticed

  • @DualThunder Agreed. BTW, I did put up Thibaud playing this transcription and he plays it very beautifully.

  • possibly the sexiest thing i've heard

    right up next to pavarotti

  • Thank you for this historical video. I like this piece played by Nuccio Trotta, an unknown pianist worth listening in to.

  • Great music, great video!

    BRAVO!

  • Fantastic.
