I got hit on the freeway coming home a few years back and got tossed about 100 feet or so before my face hit the ground and stopped me. I hit the ground so hard that it cracked the chin guard, ripped a pretty good patch off the top of it right above my right eye and there was 5 big nicks in the back of it my helmet if I would have had a half shell on it would have killed me for sure. I walked away from getting hit at 65mph with a messed up left shoulder and right knee a broke L thumb

I wont ride with a half shell. I've seen where the whole chin gard on a full face was ground down to the nub.If that was your face you'd be dead and a closed casket!

My helmet damage is also on the back left side. I have seen a broken jaw. I don't think I would ride with anything less than a full face helmet.
