Hi, check out REDKE71's hanspring tutorial, really helped me when i was trying to get it. Its a bit of both i think, but its a lot about baclance, once you're up there its not as much effort to hold it :)

Thanks! I really wasnt feeling the twisted grip that day! the other move i first saw it in Lian's pole jam video on youtube and decided to give it a go, i quite like it!
it has it's komical side, particularly with the tune. obviously U believe and realize the value of persistance paying off, delivering per your intention. we need more girls pushing themselves into flowing artwork ......
