As Conway Twitty commented in a documentry that George Jones was set on self-distruct. And yet , you know it's an odd thing destiny (losing Conway as well as Waylon - RIP)) how George having overcome those obvious demons as well as a car accident, survived to a ripe age of 80 -Nancy his wife ( I believe that's her name) came around just in time to help set him on the right path , much like June Carter to Johnny Cash. God Bless you George - hope you 're enjoying your golden years.
The thing that I love most about the Oldies is that back then they sang a song because it hit them in a way that you could see and feel the emotions, not like today when they only sing the songs because they think it will be a hit
Best of all time.... And I'm only 29 but man I'm a big Country fan and man i love him.. took my mom to see him in concert when he came to Indianapolis, In few yrs ago.. He was GREAT
I MYSELF REMEMBER HEARING U I AM IN MY MID 30'S AND REMEMBER MY BROTHER GOING OFF TO HIGH SCHOOL IN HIS 1978 FORD TRUCK/WITH COWBOY HAT AND ALL I WILL HEAR GEORGE JONES CASSETTE BLOWN OUT LOAD..I LOVE YOUR VOICE NEVER \WILL THERE BE ANOTHER GEORGE JONES....A COUNTRY LEGEND...LOVE U GEORGE
George...I am 46 and remember my parents listening to you....and I have been hooked on you since. I love you and your voice! There will never be another like you!
around 35 yrs back, i was a young man , a novice logger, with a rock band on the side. never payed much attention to country. then one night in my chair alone, i turnedon the "midnight special" and on that show george jones sat on a stool by himself and changed my way of appreciating the world
George Jones, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline. Those are real country singers. And this is coming from a 13 year old!
I hear this song and I'm 16 yrs old taking my dad's old truck out on a date...Nothing but a scratchy AM radio and an 8 track player. That work truck smell of cigarettes, coffee, and diesel.... Pop had a few tapes and George Jones was a favorite.... Now I'm as old as my dad was then...I like the old stuff too........ my dad- hardest working guy I've ever known
Listening to music like this allows me to feel true emotion. The "country" of today is such garbage compared to this. Like George once sang " Who's gonna fill their shoes". "Who will tear your heart out when they sing ?" (Nobody from this day and age)
I am in a trance when I see him and hear him sing , I think he is the most handsome man , and as he aged he to ME just got better looking , I feel unfotunate I have not seen him in person , as I am still trying Love You GEorge
Great vid! Thanks!
