  • I love Virgin and I fly it all the time in Premium. Great service and delicious food.

  • If you are ok with spending that much from economy to premium economy, why not just get the business class?

  • @tithm9 what business class? I flew NY to London a week or so back and it was upper, premium and coach. premium was fine, I slept very well which I do not think would have been the case in coach and I can't say I have heard enough good things to justify upper. For the extra few bucks I think it was worth it excepting I slept through the meal.

  • @Shiplodicus By business class, I meant Upper class because Virgin does not have a "first class". Upper is essentially a business class. That's my fault, I should have made it more clear. My point was, when I checked the fares from NY to London, Coach was 482, Premium Economy was 1018 dollars. If you already have the extra money to go from Coach to Premium, Chances are you are someone with money. So why not just get upper class instead?

  • @tithm9 well I had the missus with me and the brother in law and I was ponying up. Adding a few hundred bucks per seat to go to premium on a red eye kinda made sense. It was pretty comfy and we all slept well. Paying a few thousand bucks for the business/upper class just doesn't strike me as worth it on a 6.5 hour flight.

  • I feel that PURCHASING a premium economy seat is pointless. If you are being upgraded for free with miles, then ok, it makes sense. BUT, economy is meant for people that just wants to get from point A to point B with minimal comfort for a low cost. Business on Virgin is meant for people to travel in luxury. Why go half way? I looked up price from JFK to London and economy was 717 dollars and Premium Economy was almost 1500. Having a tiny bit more space than economy does not justify that price.

  • If you are over 6 feet tall, premium economy is very uncomfortable. I flew the 747 to Miami and A340 back to London in this class and while the seats are fine on the ground, as soon as the passenger infront of me reclined my knees were squashed and it was worse than economy. The Virgin seats hinge at the ankle level which squashes your knees, but in BA the premier economy hinges at the seat level which means legs remain intact with the extra leg room.

  • @UmarKhabeesKutta yeah you want to be in the front row of PE for sure.

  • So any flights to/from London will the new Premium Economy correct?

  • i love virgin premium economy its better than some airlines business class and is a hell of a lot cheaper ..LOVE IT xxx highly recomended

  • hi, my family and i are flying to orlando on the 747-400 on the way and on an a330-300 on the way back, are they much different in premium economy, and also will the new posh leather style seats be available on the 747-400? from LGW?

    thanks

  • I have a question, i am trying out virgin premium economy in a few weeks time, what happens if your flight attendants give free upgrades to the regular economy passengers to come to premium economy? thats not exactly fair for me.... just asking thanks

  • @NuttageProductions LOL sh*t happens. Will you be whining if they upgrade you to upper? Will you feel the pain of all those who paid full fare. Stop being such a snob.

  • @Shiplodicus 'just asking thanks'

  • @NuttageProductions dude there will be 300 people behind you cramped up on kitchen chairs... you will be spread out on a big leather arm chair. Be grateful your life is double cool. Think positive thoughts. May your god go with you.

  • @Shiplodicus um yeah, true true....do you work for virgin or something, why do you keep commenting on like everybody elses posts

  • @NuttageProductions cos i want to.

  • Its becoming hard to choose between airlines to go to Miami International, but I guess Virgin Atlantic just edged it for me, because of Premium Economy.

    Nice

  • @02mohameds what other airlines where you thinking of flying with ? (i guess american airlines)

  • @est1830 I really dont know I've looked at KLM, Delta, AA, United etc.

An airline that has comfortability and is not pricey....that would be my ideal airline...

  • @02mohameds ive flown with virgin and its a really good service, you could probably fly cheaper with someone like united but from what ive heard its not nearly as nice

  • @02mohameds virgins abit more expensive but its worth it cause all the others a quite crappy

  • Can't wait to fly with Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy to Barbados next Autum

  • Is there any wireless lan?

  • i am going to orlando from gatwick in june will i get the seats that are in the video on my plane

  • Flying with Virgin to Sydney in January 2011 - Booking Premium Economy, hopefully its worth the extra few ££!!

  • I hoping to visit a mate in Adelaide next year, and on a return flight, the difference between economy and premium economy (for the longest part of the flight, LHR to Sydney) on the overall cost makes the flight around twice the price. However, being 6'2" and around 225lbs, the extra room is worth the cost to me. I'm already saving me pennies!

I've seen some complaints about the service received in Premium Economy, but for me, it's not the meals, the in-flight entertainment, o

  • @laughinggravy ...or how attentive the staff are, it's ALL about that extra 7 or 8 inches of legroom, and the extra width is most welcome too. Anything else is a bonus.

When you're tall, economy class is purgatory itself and I ALWAYS get to my destination feeling like crap. I don't fly often, and am willing to fork out the extra. How even taller people cope I don't know, and I really feel for them.

  • @laughinggravy

I flew economy with Virgin Atlantic about three years ago and have no complaints about the flight other than the legroom, but that's true for all economy. Last time to Oz I flew with Malaysia airlines, their seat pitch was maybe a couple of inches longer, but still hell on a flight that long.

Oh to be rich and go first class, and to see how the other half live!

  • @laughinggravy hi im 6ft6, so imagine how i felt on standard economy all the way to orlando from manchester lol. but these premium seats look like they have the same leg room as economy. why dont they just take out 1 row of seats, its stupid.

  • how he can say:it cost u only few hundreds dollars more than economy.tickets !! its twice than economy class,i just checked it now !! it piss me off such a thing like that

  • cathay pacific has a tray on the seat in front so u can lug ur laptop have ur meal on the tray and a drink holder for ur drink so i think cathay is a little better in different classes but virgin is faster

  • i fly to usa, every month premium i have never seen leather seats, the aircaft interior is generaly poor dirty falling apart also the video system is always breaking down.

The food is bland and boring, and dont mention the pretzels and peanuts enough.

I will be moving to a dedicated business airline virgin suck

  • are you allowed to drink from the bar in premium class

  • are the the flights going out to london heathrow from new delhi, new aircrafts or old ones? and how would you rate the premium economy on these flights?

  • Hi im flying on a airbus A340-600 and am flying in premium econamy cabin to cape town i cant wait im flying with my arnt and unkel and my grandpearnts is it realy good flying with virgin atlantic? thanks :)

  • Hey, im flying with Virgin to Orlando from Gatwick in October and we have booked premium economy aswell. Im so excited, and i know we wont be dissapointed with your airlines. :)

  • @xXSlashBoiXx I went to orlando in premium economy - a fantastic experience. I was on the top deck of a 747, and it felt like you were on a private Jet!

  • fancy..

  • @petehbowman. It will be a 3 pin UK socket. To plug your laptop into. Besides if you want power you need to buy the power inverter off the virgin Atlantic retail therapy site to get the right voltage or you will fuck up the pc. The circuits in your pc would get frazzled by the current of electricity flow

  • Hmmmm....but yet again, just another 'regular' type seat, rehashed for a 'new' product. Check out Air New Zealand....the FIRST airline to actualy CREATE a new seat for Premium Economy. Snaps!

  • Does Manchester have the new cabins for premium economy flying to Orlando? I am flying on the 15th May.

  • What about flights on the Gatwick to Barbados route? we are going end of Nov. 2010

  • Hello ThisIsVirginAtlantic, I am PJ Bowman aged 11

I'll be taking a seat in your Premium Economy Cabin in July the 1st Flying out to Dubai. Could I ask what socket you need for laptop power? European or UK?

    Many Thanks Please Reply!

    PJ Bowman - Northern Ireland

  • The new Qantas Premium Economy is surely the best.

  • i can t w8 2 go on premuim enconomy this year :)

  • Hi could you clarify something for me when we booked in premium economy we were told that the tea and coffee and soft drinks were free now people are saying you have to pay for them at £1250 i dont think it would break the bank to offer this service as it was included when we booked

  • Hi Rangeman12345,

ALL food and drink served onboard Virgin Atlantic, is complimentary to all passengers, across all our cabins.

The only thing you'll need to pay for, is your ticket. ;)

  • Hi VA

Thank you for the reply it is much appreciated the only problem i now have is we purchased 4 large thermos flask`s for the nine hour journey do you think Mr Branson would re-emburse me for this outlay all joking aside the reason we booked with Virgin is because we have heard so many good reports on your service

    Best regards Rangeman12345

  • Hii,

It's great to see airlines doing their own channels at Youtube, My question is:

How big are these seats? Width and Pitch in inches please.

Im considering playing in the PE with a family to Edinburgh from Dubai.

    Thanks and Best Wishes!

  • Hi, I'm a bit confused. 18 seconds in, after the fade in from the exterior plane shots, we see a man and a woman sitting in what appears to be seats with loads of leg room. But 28 seconds in we see a man and woman sitting side by side and there is no space, the seat in front if on top of them!?! What is the deal here? I'm considering Premium Economy for a long flight but I can't see the extra leg room from the second image at 28 seconds.

  • It's just the angle. The extra room is 7 inches, it may not sound a lot, but it really does make a difference.

  • Thanks, Qwertdr, appreciate the reply.

  • I am glad I am not the only one who saw that......a bear from Phoenix ;-)

  • maybe those were two different airplanes.

  • @BearGuyPaul lol i understand what your saying

  • going to hong kong in sept from heathrow dont know weather to go ba or virgin what are the plus and minus

  • Since its gona be a very long flight , I would sugest you to go for virgin, 12 hours feel like 12 months if u cant sleep in the plane.

  • Try Cathy Pacific ull not regret iT..

  • I'll fly premium economy LHR-Boston in late September. Actually the virgin-website states that the new plush seats will be available on all flights departing from LHR - what about those heading into LHR?

  • Hey Steinbeck 1805,

All our Heathrow fleet, to/from, have the brand new PE seats.

  • We are flying premium economy in November, Manchester to orlando, will we have these seats? Heard lots of rumours that Manchester planes still have the old seats,,,

  • Hey dsg2010, you wont have the new leather seats, but as above, your Premium Economy experience will still remain the same.

Your seat pitch will be, 38", the same as our Heathrow seat. Youll also be offered a preflight drink before choosing one of three delicious meals. After dinner, liqueur is offered and, later in the flight, you can also choose from fresh fruit.

Youll also have your own dedicated Cabin Crew, as well as dedicated check in area, priority boarding and baggage reclaim.

  • @ThisIsVirginAtlantic How much do you have to pay for your bags? I assume that you still have to pay for them even with premium economy booking.

  • We are flying Premuim economy in September. London Gatwick to Orlando International Florida. Will we have these seats?

  • Unfortunately not. However, our Gatwick seat offers the same 38" seat pitch as our Heathrow seat. Premium dining is also offered across the fleet, customers are offered a preflight drink before choosing 1 of 3 tempting meals from a delicious menu. To finish, an after dinner liqueur is offered and, later in the flight, passengers can choose from fresh fruit.

Youll also have your own devoted Cabin Crew, as well as dedicated check in, priority boarding and baggage reclaim.

    Hope that helps.

  • We might be upgrading to Premium Economy on our flight from Boston to London this weekend.

  • Anyone know if you get these seats on HK to Sydney? I'm thinking of travelling Heathrow - HK spending a week there then movng on to sydney.

  • Hey kebl0826,

Our new Premium Economy seats are available on all our Heathrow fleet.

If you're flying to Hong Kong/Sydney, then your flight will depart from Heathrow and you'll get to experience our amazing Premium Economy seats and service.

    Best wishes,

    Virgin Atlantic.

  • i will try this . i was going to fly . b a to asia but i will try virgin.jfk -lon-bkk. hey you know whats a good song to play with this type of ad. sleepy time gal, by jerry vale- its on utube hear the song and put it in a inflight commercial in like buss class it goes good with flying at night.

  • qantas a380 so much better

  • this is a340, not a380

  • still thought yorkshire airlines was funnier

  • Ok but they have been saying for 2 years that the gatwick fleet will be upgraded. i paid for upgrade under impression all planes had the seats but not the case. Just read very small print

  • this video is a con because the virgin 747's out of gatwick do not have the new purple leather seats - they have the old normal cloth seats. Also the gatwick planes do not have the new entertainment systems like the heathrow planes do

  • Hey donkey20048,

The new leather seats are only available on Heathrow fleet, which also operate V:Port.

Odessey and Nova IFE systems are still on the Gatwick fleet, as well as the old Premium Economy seats. But we've already planned to update our Gatwick fleet with new seats and IFE systems.

    So watch this space!

    All the best,

    Virgin Atlantic.

  • Did he really just say that? For JUST a few hundred dollars more?!

  • I travelled Premium Economy to Barbados and it is a fantastic experience. You arrive feeling all together more refreshed and ready to enjoy your holiday! Very highly recommended!!
