The problem is that through cross pollination real farmers seeds get infected by monsanto's GMO seeds which then directly make those farmers loose all the rights they have on their seeds because of monsanto's patented and biologically dominant GMO seeds. Several years ago I started saving seeds before I knew about Monsanto. Not just veggie seed but wild seed as well. In the Fall we would take hikes and collect the seed of wild grasses,flowers, trees etc. Don't know why, just felt compelled and my grandmother would collect wildflower seeds. At some point in time I realized the birds and the bees need these wild plants and noted how much was being destroyed. Not much, but if we all did it?

Well , my parents have alway's grown their food and for certain things like Cabbage and certain other crobs you can spray with pyretrum because of the catterpillars eating the crop, that will not kill the bee's , but please everyone should BAN "Round Up" FOR EVER !

Also for potato's its not really nessecary to spray with anti fungus , just don't grow potato's longer then 3 years on the same piece of ground

This is why it's a good idea to buy organic and grow your own food. However i'm still not convinced that the earth can survive without certain pesticides, but for the most part organic is the best option, and GMO's must be erradicated altogether.
