The USEF maintains class rules which varies by breed. Typical Saddle Seat classes for Arabians include: Park, English Pleasure, Country English Pleasure, and Equitation.

Park - Walk, Trot, & Canter & judged by their brilliant, high action.

Pleasure or English Pleasure - Walk, Trot and Canter, plus extended gaits, where good manners & smooth performance are more important than brilliant action.

Classic, Country Pleasure or Country English Pleasure - Walk, Trot, Cantor & Back, with greater emphasis on manners of the horse: a high-set head position with a lesser animated gait.

Equitation or Saddle Seat Equitation judges the rider's form and use of aids.
