when i place the beat to track 1, then i record my vocals at track 2 my problem is that when i record my vocals, the beat in track 1 is also recorded... im having a hard time fixing it it took me a year already. =(

I played mp3s in my jvc boomox and it was too low at full blast. I tried to up the volume on decibals in adobe but now they sound distorted. How can I make mp3s louder without losing the quality. HElp thx.

@SkinnyieBone To move the instrumental, place the mouse pointer over the instrumental audio file, hold "RIGHT CLICK" and drag the instrumental to the far left and you will be at 00:00:00. You can use this same method to move vocal files around as well.

@granny123son If the beat is overpowering your vocals, in the multi-track sections, to the left side of the instrumental audio file, you will see the R (record), S (solo), M (mute) buttons and just below that V for Volume, P for Pan, etc. Basically, place the mouse pointer over the V (volume) box and hold LEFT CLICK and drag down to lower the volume or drag up to amplify.

@dwadefan4lyfe2 you go to mix down to file then EXPORT to mp3...flac...all tha other formats...mp3 is one of the worst qualities you can export due to all of the compressed data..

Love CEP2, been using it for almost 10 years. Simple, clean, small and powerful. Not all this bloated gigabyte sized crap today. This is only like 50MB with all the goodies.

@070kiki there's somethin wrong with your hardware..see if you can find a installation disc for the mic or retry seein if the plug n play option will work...
it sounds like the file you tried to open is mp3 which is somethin that the program at first wont open that way..I'm currently lookin up a way within the program to figure that out..but for the time being I would just find a file converter and convert the mp3-->wav and then reopen it within CEP..

@KerghanXP you should be able to...you go to ur video program that you're using to make the video and there should be a option that allows you to add audio clip. when you do that you find the file that you want to add. and put it in ur video n PRESTO ur set.
one question, if i record a track while another track is playing, then the recording track records the playing track. I want to be able to hear the other tracks while I record, but i dont want them to be recorded again, because they sound like crap. How do I stop this from happening?
@FanofAli1964 You may want to use headphones while you do that. so that way you will be able to hear what your trying to record and on another track record while the 1st track is playing the instrumental that you have selected.
@nokaspontinha you save the waveform in the file menu, you then save the session. it will save as sess. and that's the entire project. your looking to save the wave form I'm guessing; if so then you want to save the wave form to anything as .mp3 or .wave. or .agg or mp4 what ever audio format you'd like to use.

your saving tha session...click on file and go to 'mix down to file' that will then give you tha option of what type of file you would like to convert the file to. choose mp3 and ur set to go man..

you can cue n have it replay that or you can record the chorus on another track...it should actually be easier to jus record it on another track and then jus put it in place after your verse.
@KyuubiCat . get yourself soundforge software. i bought the cheap one at best buy for 65 bucks. you can increase the volume on your songs. you can shorten the songs as you want to.
put the music on one track...then arm your track wit tha "R" then hit play..it should play tha background music while your recordin so that you can stay on beat..this will not affect your recordin track...
First off make sure Both your monitor speakers are working...If thats not the problem then you are probably recording in MONO...(one side)...Also check your PAN button in the multi track veiw this button controls the balance Left and Right....Also the INPUT you are using to record may be MONO..I baught a Digital audio converter box and I run out of my mixer thru the converter box to my USB on my laptop... U can get these at music stores and they cost around $30....Hope this helps.

actually, The way I listen and record at the same time is to plug some headphones in, and use the multi-track function, you can put whatever you want to hear in one track, and set the next one to record, then using the mic or input of your choice can just hit the play button, or record button. cant remember, But it will play the one track, and record your input into the other. Then use mixdown if you wish to combine the two. Also you can use an outside sound board if you wish to hear YOUR input

Im some what of a cool edit whiz. been a while since i used it but the screens u are using i havent seen used. usually you go straight from the cool edit screen. looks like ur using your start menu. you should always upload from cool edit screen. matter of fact you should always do whatever you want str8 from cool edit
Watup dude... to fix your mic delay, simply click File > New - then look for "44,000 something" but click that and click ok... make sure ur sample rate is 44,000 or sumthing.. if its less it will cause a delay in recording due to the compression of the quality. It sucks for me coz i do rap music.. but this should fix it :).. works for me.

Record the music on a separate track. Then as you play the music track, record your vocals on a separate track. Use headphones so the mic won't record the music playing, but you can hear the music in order to sing along.

It sounds like a latency issue. You should try increasing the size of your temp folder that Cool Edit Pro uses. That can help improve things a bit, as it will create more room to store data as you record and use less system memory. It worked for me when using Adobe Audition 1.5.
Record 4 seconds of silence in the same area where you recorded the vocals, then you highlight that and go into Effects - Noise Reduction - Noise Reduction - and click Get noise profile and after it gets it click CLOSE.
After this you go in to the vocals which you have recorded, highlight the area you want to remove background noise from and go in to effects - Noise reduction - Noise reduction again and this time click OKAY and it will remove your background noise! :) Hope that helped.

you can cue n have it replay that or you can record the chorus on another track...it should actually be easier to jus record it on another track and then jus put it in place after your verse.

@KyuubiCat . get yourself soundforge software. i bought the cheap one at best buy for 65 bucks. you can increase the volume on your songs. you can shorten the songs as you want to.

put the music on one track...then arm your track wit tha "R" then hit play..it should play tha background music while your recordin so that you can stay on beat..this will not affect your recordin track...

First off make sure Both your monitor speakers are working...If thats not the problem then you are probably recording in MONO...(one side)...Also check your PAN button in the multi track veiw this button controls the balance Left and Right....Also the INPUT you are using to record may be MONO..I baught a Digital audio converter box and I run out of my mixer thru the converter box to my USB on my laptop... U can get these at music stores and they cost around $30....Hope this helps.

its not entirely a live system set up so you cant really do a monitor in this version I'm sure.

actually, The way I listen and record at the same time is to plug some headphones in, and use the multi-track function, you can put whatever you want to hear in one track, and set the next one to record, then using the mic or input of your choice can just hit the play button, or record button. cant remember, But it will play the one track, and record your input into the other. Then use mixdown if you wish to combine the two. Also you can use an outside sound board if you wish to hear YOUR input

ey bro, r u a pro with that program? cuz i once had mine able to record any sounds that come from my computer itself just by clicking the record button. websites, Windows Media Player, etc. and sound just like it with no watered down quality. but i dont remember how to get it to do that. do u know?

Im some what of a cool edit whiz. been a while since i used it but the screens u are using i havent seen used. usually you go straight from the cool edit screen. looks like ur using your start menu. you should always upload from cool edit screen. matter of fact you should always do whatever you want str8 from cool edit

Watup dude... to fix your mic delay, simply click File > New - then look for "44,000 something" but click that and click ok... make sure ur sample rate is 44,000 or sumthing.. if its less it will cause a delay in recording due to the compression of the quality. It sucks for me coz i do rap music.. but this should fix it :).. works for me.

Start > My computer > Local Disk (C:) > Cool Edit Pro 2.0 with addons > Cool Edit Pro 2.0 Registration.exe (then paste that serial code NUMBER in)

PLEASE HELP! I'm a vocalist and I just started using cool edit pro! I am in the process of recording a song in multi-track view and the vocal is somehow faster than the instrumental everytime I sing it! I have a professional mic and I am singing into the mic while the instrumental is playing in track one and I am recording in track 2! Record the music on a separate track. Then as you play the music track, record your vocals on a separate track. Use headphones so the mic won't record the music playing, but you can hear the music in order to sing along.

It sounds like a latency issue. You should try increasing the size of your temp folder that Cool Edit Pro uses. That can help improve things a bit, as it will create more room to store data as you record and use less system memory. It worked for me when using Adobe Audition 1.5.

Record 4 seconds of silence in the same area where you recorded the vocals, then you highlight that and go into Effects - Noise Reduction - Noise Reduction - and click Get noise profile and after it gets it click CLOSE.
After this you go in to the vocals which you have recorded, highlight the area you want to remove background noise from and go in to effects - Noise reduction - Noise reduction again and this time click OKAY and it will remove your background noise! :) Hope that helped.
