talk about historical inaccuracy. cerato was a jurassic era dino while tri was a cretacious dino. these two never would've met each other in real life.
Ceratosaurus would have fled from the fight because it only hunted smaller prey and Triceratops was in fact the only thing that could scare a Tyrannosaurus.
Is this not a perfect movie for guys of any age? Cool animation that Harryhausen really put his heart and soul into, an army of cavechicks who can almost match Raquel Welch's beauty, and a surprisingly interesting plot that moves along without having any dialogue to assist. It's completely watchable just to see what crazy spectacle will turn up next. See the entire movie if you haven't already.
@scheiSSkind77 In this contest, the T-Rex picked itself up, exposing his underbelly. And Triceratops is always looking for an opporunity to use its horns, rammed him in that spot. Message to T-Rex 's: When going up against Triceratops, use flanking maneuvers, never a frontal assault.
All right baby, now we eat and later we'll fuck! Something tells me that in spite of T-Rex's reputation as the iconic dinosaur living in the same era as Triceratops that the scenario would have played out the same way had he been stupid enough to mess with one, since they were herd animals and would probably have ganged up and charged at him. Maybe that's why we only have 8 fossil remains. Interesting.
*Yawn* Did you not read the title? And sorry to brake it to you, but that "T-Rex" was slaughtered! You also forget that Spinosaurus and Giganotosaurus were all carnivores bigger than him!
@scheiSSkind77 Check out my other vid "last Dinosaur" fight. Its not as well done but worth a look. The T-Rex always does seem to lose even in the old dino picture books
Yeah, and neither did Homo Erectus! Ceratosaurus also wasn't that big. Tyrannosaurus might have been that big, but Ceratosaurus was only about the size of a large horse.
I was expecting Ceratosaurus to win when I first saw it, because I thought that they'd make Cerato win simply because he's the carnivore. Guess they were smart enough to know who'd win.
Something so intense about Ray's Ceratosaur, Tyrannosaur, Allosaur characters. The way they whip their tails about, together with the mean facial expressions, gives them the moodiness of a really pissed-off cat or something. You don't get that with the more realistic, but less expressive, JP stuff.

I saw this movie when I was 10 years old in a fancy villa, just before our family moved from Finland to Canada. Cool! And after that, oh, what an adventure my life has been...but that's a totally different story.
I thought the dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years ago......hmmmmm. And why does the T-rex sound like a mountain lion?...hmmmmmm I don't know if this movie is totally 100% accurate.
At nine years old at the time, I was less excited about seeing a hot Raquel Welch and more intrigued about seeing the dinosaurs! Ray Harryhousen's special effects was truly awesome!
Can you image if Ceratosaurus was actually that big and like that in real life?! Allosaurus would've had nothin on him then!!!
y'know, these older stop motion battles were and are actually scarier than the new cgi dinosaur re-enactments we get. The older ones were just more gritty and intense and it wasn't so one sided. Plus the sound effects were way more eiree and the wounds inflicted were brutal!
when i was a kid i loved the fighting dinos, now im an adult i love the hot cave slut seeing her ass crawling through that hole daaaayuuummm. fun for every age. PS who is she ?

Triceratops are biggest Ceratopsion. Triceratops is 9 metre (30 feet) long and weight is 5+ tonne and head is 2.5 metre (8.3 feet), it has the largest skull/head of any dinosaur after Torosaurus. Torosaurus head is 3 metre (10 feet) long. Ceratosaurus is 6 metre (20 feet) long, weight is 1 tonne and height is 3-3.6 metre (10-12 feet). Triceratops enemy is T. rex. In this movie they made Triceratops lot bigger than real size. T. rex is 12-15 metre (40-50 feet) long, weight is 6-7 tonne.
Also, Ceratosaurus should have four fingers, not three, and it was only about half again as tall as a human, not gigantic like it is shown here (If you're wondering, complete Ceratosaurus remains have been known since 1884). Then again, why am I critiquing a movie that doesn't even pretend to be accurate?
Ceratosaurus shouldn't have stood a chance; it was much smaller and weaker than Triceratops. There were pretty complete skeletons of both in 1966, so there wasn't much of an excuse. If they needed a good fight, they should have just used Tyrannosaurus or had the ceratosaur fight a Stegosaurus instead.
@Danzilla1996 I agree. the JP3 fight was such a rip off. What did it last..like 30 seconds?? This one went on for a while with you never really sure who would win.
That's what happens when Jack Horner is allowed to much influence in JP. Still it's been proven Spino was very unrealistically portrayed in the movie an in real life if the 2 would have met T-Rex would wipe the floor with Spino. I like Spino though... but considering it's weak Jaws, body was not built for combat an mainly hunted Fish an Small land Dino's... While Rex was fighting Triceratops so... We all know T-Rex had that fight won.. But i was also disgusted with it.
You're absolutely right. In the JP fight, the rex has the spinosaur by the neck in one shot. In real life, the spino would have probably been decapitated.
@outforjustice3350 I'm pretty sure the movie you are thinking of is called "Journey to the Beginning of Time". It was a stegosaurus vs a ceratosaurus. The stego nails him in the body with his spiked tail if I remember correctly. I saw that movie as a very young kid. This film here came out in 1966.
Harryhausen was my hero growing up. Today, while the effects we have give us more options, there was something beautiful about Ray's painstaking work. Granted, it doesn't look as "real" as Jurassic Park, but it has energy and grace, and when one considers the process necessary to bring this to life ... well, I am in awe. Thanks you for sharing this.
Why do creationists fight against evolution so much? Just imagine primitive man & if we are all made in the image of god, god looks like an ape? Hairy, dirty, smelly, unwashed, yellow broken teeth, horrible hair.... that is supposed to represent God? No wonder time stops going backward about 5,000 years ago to these people.
Next time u take a look at the image of an Neanderthal man in a museum, i am sure u will pay him a bit more respect - Behold God in all his glory!
Absolute Magic!!!! No one could bring the giant lizards to life better than Harryhausen!!!! But then, I bet that John Richardson was not exactly concerned with the prehistoric beasties! If he was really smart, he kept his eyes on Raquel's rear end as they crawled through that tunnel to escape! Talk about getting a mouthful......
This is the more realistic Triceratops of ever - of course with JURASSIC PARK's sick one ( not a CGI creation but a marvellous animatronic by missed Stan WINSTON's team ). Shame that nowdays producers left out art of people like HARRYHAUSEN ( stop motion ) or BOTTIN ( animatronics like WINSTON ).
omg i havent seen this movie since i was like 5 in like 1997...i remember me aunt worked where you rent the movies and it was my birthday and the ahole gave me this movie what a bitch i was good tho what i remember i'm going to try and see the whole movie to refresh my memories
When I first saw this as a kid I was hoping the Ceratosaurus was going to win but then WHAM horns in the guts!!!
I really do miss this guy work, like he gave each of his animation characters emotion. . you can tell by the Triceratops after the battle he looked extremely exhausted. . .great movie and thanks for the upload.
I thought the exact same way when I first saw it. But the trike nails him percectly. I like how he even lifts him up off the ground and just deposits him on his back...perfect ending

I think a tyrannosauros never fought against an adult triceratops.

@SumGuy87 Me too, Ceratosaurus was more agile, and taller, so as a kid I was shocked by the outcome. It's like some fat kid beating up a Quarterback.
