  • this is the male version of joline

  • the effect of the guitar is a steel guitar, but can be played similar on a fender telecaster,

  • No song should be this infectious, GET OUT OF MY HEAD!

  • im dumb and getting serious about guitar hoping someone here plays what is the effect on the electric guitar if you can help please tell me thanks

  • this song has been redone by a few people, but they can't touch paycheck.

  • @chriskilgore2245 Tracy Byrd does a DAMN good cover.

  • that is excellent for that far back alright top stuff

  • IT' SOUNDS GREAT..HARMONY WAS IMPORTANT TO MUSIC 50 YEARS AGO

  • good tune

    love tou

  • good tune

  • Take a good look at this man. Sincerity in his eyes. He is singing from the heart, not like todays country performers that sing from their wallet or checkbook.

  • it's like Bruce Willis did country! bad ass tuff! It's like Chuck Norris died 20 years ago, but god is affraid to take him yet! It's Johnny (fuckin) Paycheck

  • Johnny on the Wilburn Brothers Show. Wow! good country

  • Johnny's version of this song demonstrates the Soul that can be found in his style of Country Music..

  • written by swamp dogg!

  • Heard this ridin down the road on a beautiful sunny day, I reckon this is Johnny's best.

  • Good*

  • I hate country music but damn this song is food

  • oh johnny he did not take no shit off anybody he was a mean mother fucker back in the day.but a dam good country singer. rest in peace johnny.

  • This is my fucking jam.

  • @sarahwk88 You and DxLowKeY can eat this song, because he thinks it's food too. lol

  • I like the Wilburn Brothers (Teddy & Doyle) stepping in to harmonize. Used to watch their show when I was a smal kid. Tracy Bird did a good version. But Johnny's was the best!

  • he looks like mike stivic (rob reiner) from all in the family

  • ty for the memories

  • i disagree ithink freddie scot does a better version

  • I LOVE THIS SONG

AND ALL THE OTHER ONES HE SINGS

  • 1971! WHAT A GREAT TIME TO BE YOUNG AND ALIVE.

  • Classic Country - My only reason to even be on youtube!

  • My favorite Johnny Paycheck song!

  • Great song. I loved that they used a variant of this early version as the introductory song in the movie "Extract."

  • Oh my god this is awesome.

  • Flawless performance. Thanks so much for sharing!!!

  • Johnny Paycheck seems like he sings this a lot more smoothly than tracy byrd.

  • One of the many great things about Paycheck is he never altered his voice to sound "less country," like a lot of people did in the '70s.

  • I swear thats what real country music sounds like!! None of that damn Taylor Swift or Sugarland pop music bull...please Lord bring back the real country music or im subject to blow a hole in my truck radio with a 12 gauge!!! lol

  • How cool isnt this? Johnny Paycheck with the impeccable Hal Rugg on steel, great song, too.

  • Yes, the real motherfucker.

  • wow that bass player is terrible

  • Yeah, this song is all about the bass player. Douche.

  • @guitarbill71 it actually is DOUCHE since GENE SIMMONS wrote the BASSLINE, dumbass!!

  • @PatHoed So, Gene Simmons "wrote the bass line" to a song that charted in 1971? Maybe he heard it and "borrowed it" - DUMBASS,

  • @guitarbill71 wow youre a real ignorant redneck arent you? KISS has been around since 1963. You enjoy inbreeding dont you? It sure is obvious your mom and her cousin did.

  • @PatHoed I don't give a shit about Kiss - but I don't think that Gene Simmons "wrote" this bass line when he was 14 in 1963. And mother jokes are the lowest form of pretend insult. Even if you could come up with something decent, you'd still be just as wrong about the song - they share a similar chord structure - like 2,103 other songs share. Douche.

  • Now this is the real motherfucker

  • The real shit.

  • @hollies65 dam rite

  • such a good song!!

  • this guy went to jail for shooting someone in a bar! classic bahahahahaha!

  • All along I thought Tracy Byrd did it originally.

  • Johnny Paycheck is cool

  • this is the greatest version ive ever heard of this song, i really dig the tempo

  • @tonytron1 I was thinking that too cus all the other ones seem to have a really fast tempo. Good observation bro

  • What TV show is this from, if anyone knows it?

  • It is the Wilburn Brothers they had a show on same channel as Porter Wagoner in 60/70's. The Wilburns sang harmony on Webb Pierces Jailhouse now.Loretta Lynn was on their show along with a lot of Older REAL Country Music stars. Teddy&Doyle Wilburn Hal Rugg Steel Buddy Spicher fiddle. I played for Johnny in oct 1993 right after he got released from Prison,He had Copd Emphysema,REALLY bad,Kept an Inhaler on his Amp,His brother played lead for him at the time, thank You

  • Thanks a whole lot for this big amount of information! I always tap my feet to the Dave Dudley appearance on the Wilburn Brothers show!
