Once they are cured, there is no need for further spending on treatment and that results in too much currency in circulation, equal exactly to the amount of services no longer needed.

If $1 billion p/year is spent on AIDS, a cure means there will be $1 billion in "too much currency" in circulation unless other economic activity is created.
