iPhone wasn't done, the thing is that the iOS upload the image in the backgroung, so when it still uploading it says "Done". Windows Phone actually won this! thumbs up so everyone can see this!
In terms of pic uploading. If we do this for a another application, iPhone 4S will definitly fail. iOS 5 has only built in with twitter intergation. Lets say shot and upload a pic to WhatsApp...How about it?
@TeleMac24 no, it is not a lot faster. They are the same. Better yet. New Windows Phone phones have better specs than an iPhone. It depends just on what you like best. I would rather have an Windows Phone instead of an iPhone. I hav had them both. ~ True Story
This campaign is not showing Windows Phone is better then all these extremely competitive Phones, It's showing that WP is keeping up with the status-quo in Phoning, and not falling behind in speed and feature progressiveness, which is contrary to popular belief. :)
@fraizemonkey They did kinda tie. Infact the Windows phone started the upload first. The iphone won however because of it's duel core processor. Later this year when deul core wp models come out it will be a diffrent story.
No, if you see near the beginning, Ben has his hand down, and the Indian dude has it where he can look at it and was able to put his hand up first, that's why he won. Just my theory.
Kudos to Microsoft for openly publishing the instances in which their product lost the challenge. It still comes out looking like a worthy competitor to the iPhone.
And the fact that Microsoft is competing on the basis of actual workflows, rather than just single task benchmarks suggest that after all these years they're finally getting the whole user experience design thing.
@iAmTheSquidThing agreed. This gave me even more trust for Microsoft and Windows Phone and I agree with Ben saying that it was a close one. It pretty much was the same in terms of real life usage.
Why not see who can make a Skype call faster? Why not see who can transfer a picture via bluetooth faster? Why not see who can do GChat faster? Why not see who can transfer a file from PC to phone faster? Why not see who can transfer an PDF from phone to PC faster? Why not see who can open an ePub faster? Why not...try find a restaurant outside the US faster? why not try find a bus route outside US?
Please stop those kind of nonsense and do your homework and make windows phone more useful.
@techatheist Windows phone has a dedicated camera button, so the phone is unlocked and camera lauched at the same time, "Art" just held his phone up from the beggining
Wow Ben's a really cool guy to still give the guy the $100. The Windows phone actually got to the uploading part first, the iphone just happened to have a better network connection.
I own a windows phone, it's great, but needs a lot of work. Thankfully Microsoft is working on making it a great mobile platform. Now, put Skype on WMP and I'll be pleased as punch.
This is how a champions shows respect when they lose. Windows Phone made a separate video to show their loss, wow not every company has the balls to do that. Go Window Phone!!
@Nimac91 please stop criticising the Indians though they are little new to these type of things or they are bad with their accents but if you want to be a good person atleast try to appriciate them
@sudhar1998 If you're trying to convince me don't tweet & Youtube comment me at the same time... How the hell could a non Indian do something like that? :O
He does know that iOS is always still loading in the background right? So if you post something, you have a little circle on the top still rotating(which means, It's not finished ;))
But here's the question, should the 'upload' part of this challenge really be measured? I mean, many things can slow that down. If it's over 3G then speeds may vary for plan/carrier, and if over WiFi one phone may have a stronger connection.
They also didn't tell us if they had to include a message with the picture, and if so what it was. If they did, you also have to consider the fact that each person types at a different speed, so that could affect it too.
This challenge wasn't completely fair as the photo size is obviously different on the two phones. One can win by choosing the lowest quality photo and upload.
Saying your are just as good as one of the best phone around is a good thing

Besides, that guy was Indian. They all get +10 to computer speed checks. So it was unfair to begin with.
