@montysport94 Get real! Having worked in shops for many years, I'll tell you first hand that there are many ways to pull a spring from a strut without a spring compressor, what a tool! Bent strut? Use a f'in chain on the spring, it's not brain surgery it's using basic mechanical engineering skills ! Hope their workers comp agent doesn't recognize the shop, they lose coverage instantly, This guy give the word 'special' new meaning, and not in an Olympic way.

the way i do it is you hold it against a curb like a inch away so it just hits that and sends the whole strut like 5 inches back safer that way lol

if you use a impact gun and step on the spring it self, it come apart with ease and no big spring action, I have seen people do struts with no spring comppressor and have no problem. The spring is more stiff than holds alot of pressure on the strut, but getting it back on can sometimes present a problem depending on how stiff the spring is, heavier ride= stiffer spring

if you read the sescription, it says the strut was bent so they could use a compressor. That would have been even more unsafe then what they did. It would have squeezed the spring right through the open part of the compressor and flung it at someones face...
