Is U or V grooves for wedges vs other clubs e.g irons or woods? Or are they brand specific?

u and square grooves with one end, v grooves with the other end. wedges and irons are the same,

I've had mine for about 6 months. It works terrific. If you cut your grooves too deeply, you used it wrong.
