he runs seperate pickups for guitar and bass, if you look closely at around 0:31 he has 2 cords plugged in 1 for the guitar effects and main pickups the other cord for the bass effects mainly from the top 3 strings.

It is a six string. He uses heavier strings on the top 2 strings and there is an offset bass pickup installed in that position which explains the 2 cords coming from the guitar.

they, by no means, got a lot of attention for playing this song. They arent like the atari's whos first HUGE single on mtv was "boys of summer". Everyone knows "Bound For The Floor", its like Local H's smells like teen spirit. Bottom line, Local H is a great, VERY ORIGINAL band thats been around for awhile. They've damn well earned the right to do covers if they want to.
