i just watched the tv series pillars of the earth, i think matthew macfadyen being prior philip was a nice role for him too and here being mr. darcy. its just great. though i havent watched this movie yet. just read it from a book but seeing this now, yeah they made the right choice for lizzy and mr. darcy ^^
Matthew is just THE perfect Mr Darcy, no doubt there'll never be any other to hold a candle to him. Keira is great, has many brilliant moments. she is too modern sometimes, to my taste, but it's a matter of interpretation of the character and i guess her version is more appealing to the modern viewer. best Mr Darcy and Lizzy ever!
every time i feel down i watch this film and already the first moment of it, with the incredibly beautiful sound track, makes me feel calm. the makers of the film did a great job capturing the magnificent beauty of England's landscape, fantastic architecture, which in my imagination reflect England of the late 18th and beginning of 19th century to the highest degree possible.
wow mr. darcy ( mattew macfadyen) and mr. thornton( richard armitage) from north and south is the two most sexiess men on this earth............lord those two r very handsome is their voice is deep!
This is one of the few movies that I can start again as soon as it's over. I love this movie, ever much more so then I love the book. Knightly & Macfadyen are my Lizzie & Darcy and I do believe that they always will be.
I don't know what so bad in this part for these haters to dislike even the uploder took nearly all his free time to write the subtitles maybe it has a really low voice and it unHD but still its amazing.
I love this keira knightley and hate the one who appeared in pirates of the carribean, the edge of love, and last night she's so dirty in all of them but this one is really amazing and beautiful in my own opinion.
Most people on here compare this version with the BBC series. I prefer the latter but it's interesting to watch this one and compare. I must say I really like both this Mr Bennett and the 1995 one. In this one he comes across as so sweet and harmless. Always wondered why this film portrays the Bennetts as living on a farm when that wasn't the case in the book, maybe to cement the family as being somewhat poor??
I will always be "enchanted" by this film. The actors are really great. They portrayed their role very well. I think this is the best film of Jane's Austen's novels.. . . @6:21 I think Mr. Darcy's heart skipped a beat the first time he looked to Elizabeth, then he glanced back. he is so shy in a weird way. That is so sweet. he is so stiff. haha
I have seen [I think mostly] all movies associated with Jane Austen's P&P. My little assessment: 1940 :very nice movie I enjoyed it; 1980; they tried;1995:yea most on Youtube is raving about its the adaption which kept closet to the book but in my opinion it was stiff! Bride and Prejudice: very nice music spin; Lost in Austen: sigh; P&P 2003 modern version:what were they thinking, 2005: very good, yea most bash it but the sounds, the scenes, the characters brought JA"s masterpiece to life!
This version of the book (2005) is much more intense! you can feel with the characters every feeling they have (envy, angry, happy, suffer, love), absolut everything!!.. amazing!
@NJaw90 completely agreed! I watched the old one and was so disappointed. Plus it was so long and drawn out I quickly got bored. I really don't care if it was more accurate to the book like some people say, but you have to take to mind that in the movie making business you have to film the most vital parts of the book. Anywho, this one is superior :P
@MsHorselover93 yeah you're right. The other movie is not natural, they try so hard just to be as a ccurate as the book. and clin firth is not even a good actor. Mathew mcfayden is <3 xD
although the 1995 series was more historically acurate and stuck to the novel more, this version is so much more romantic and i love it bits, watch it waaaay to much, more tehn is healthy lol, lurve this film and matthew macfayden xxxx
when the "three painted peacocks" crossed the ballroom through people all staring at them, he already saw her, did you see he looked her brievely twice and seemed to be surprised by his own look ..lol which she just laughed
Thank you soooo much!!!! I adore this film, went to the cinema twice to watch it and I never do that!!! Did I mention how incredibly grateful I am to you for uploading this...?
contrary to normality, i actually like the captions. I sometimes don't hear what the person is saying, or i use a honynym and now there is no confusion. and they dont take up too much space, and you can still see through them..kinda. and they are in an appropirate place. :] i dunno if you added them, or if they came on it, but thanks for having them on there.
I agree, the one thing about this movie is that sometimes they talk too fast, which makes it more like real life but just a bit hard when your trying to catch every word they're saying.
I can't determine whether Keira Knightly is a good actress because she always tends to get the heroine parts, you know getting the hero, flirting a bit, getting her own back etc... I mean shes good at the heroine parts but I do not know whether she would be good as a evil character.
What happend to part 11? and otherwise than saying that part 12 ends strangely quick, I must thank you for posting the film. Ever since I read the book I`v wanted nothing more than to be capable of watching the greatest reproduction of Jane Austen`s book, the greatest love story ever written, Pride and Prejudice.
I did not found part 11, but there is someone else who posted the film and then you can see part 11, wich is a beautifull part :) And maybe you want te see the alternative endig, wich is used in the US...
