i hope you don't mind me asking im thinking of ordering this wheel but im a lil worryed about holding the wheel in place how do i do that cos i've seen other vid where people have bolted it to tables im not able to do that as i only have one table so i would need to take the wheel off and on the table.
@dragonsxshadow No trouble at all, hardmounting is definately the way to go if you can, but if you can't Fanatec do the "Clubsport Table Clamp" on their site, under Racing Wheel Accessories it's €49.95 and should work for you. Alternatively there's the Rennsport wheel stand, or the GamePOD Wheel stand or also the Wheelstand pro. Google all three of those names and you should find what I'm looking for. Good luck.
@TROUS3RS Yes it does, but a lot of people complain about the Mic ports on all Fanatec wheels, some people get a lot of feedback or intermittant comms. I've always used a wireless mic myself.
Can you tell me if the Driver update on the Fanatec Support page is the firmware update or something else? I just received my elite today and it only has the 707 installed. If you have a tip on the best way to install the new firmware, I would really appreciate the help. Thank you
@berkley15 Hi, the klatest firmware is on the Thomas Blog at Fanatec's site. You will need to upload FW 720B to get the best from your wheel. The new uploader makes it very easy to install the Firmware, I'm no IT expert by a long way yet just by following the instructions carefully I've installed all FW's so far with no problems.
My csr elite wheel work perfect but my shiter on the wheel do not work ?? Your csr elite wotk with forza on the xbox but my wheel do not work with them!!! Please tell me why do not work ??

@V6stu Hi Stu, glad you've got yours. I didn't do a vid on FW updates ... I was planning to but I know Thomas has been working on a new updater so my vid with the old updater would have been a bit pointless. I'm afraid I'm out of action on vids for a while, my house got struck by lightning and among other things my XBox and PS3 are fried, but compared to no heating and a fried car the consoles are at the bottom of the list of priorities. Hope to be back in the new year.
Guy if you want to make a review of the racing wheel, you should show how it work with corners, loss of control, tire bumps etc.. not in straight line... |face palm|

how do you have the wheel mounted? My main concern is that it looks like the wheel comes out of the base straight instead of at an an angle and i won't be able to get it in a comfortable position to drive. I have a playseat and it only allows you to raise/lower the wheel..not adjust the angle.
with manual with clutch and ACL turned on do you need to use the clutch on downshifting or is the shifting treated as if you were just running manual (meaning no clutch needed on downshifts)?
I notice you pressing the A button after selecting a menu option with the D-Stick and I was wondering if you can simply click the D-Stick in instead of pressing A to select the menu option?

The scene cuts is the first thing i would improve. Then try to be alone when your filming and dont move that much the camera.
Just watch other videos on youtube of csr elite reviews.
If you could try the force feedback speed turning with drift settings on 5 compared to the GT2 wheel. I would like to know if this wheel works fine for drifting, because the porsche wheels and the csr were not that quick for countersteering in drifting, even with drift settings on 5

I'll get to FFB etc soon but today there's been another FW update which has massively improved the FFB from the already awesome level it was at anyway, so it's gonna take some more testing.

@maverickcro There's not much difference, it just means you don't need to be a finger gymnast or use the clutch pedal to activate the clutch. In my experience it's more realistic than the alternative, I have driven a few real race cars on various tracks from Open wheel to NASCAR and the only one that required a clutch to shift was the NASCAR, other than that the clutch was only for pulling away. The way Clutch is used in FM4 and GT5 is very unrealistic so ACL brings the realism back
awesome review again, however do you use it with PC simulation racing games? like GTR Evo and iracing? I dont think console racing games are the same level of pro simulation as the games you get on a PC.
would be interesting to so some review with GTR evo / F12011 & iracing on the PC
@sk8guitardrums I'm afraid I don't have a PC able to run the great sims, but I do have copies of F1 2011 on XBox and PS3 so will get testing with them as soon as I can.

@UKOGjonboy I was wondering how the fanatec CSR and the CSR Elite play on Gran Turismo 5. I'm trying to decide between the CSR and Thrustmaster T500 RS. I like what I've heard so far about the Thrustmaster T500 RS for the PS3 and GT5 but I also own forza 4 and would like a wheel that's also compatible with both systems. I know about the how expensive the CSR Elite is specially since I also want the ClubSport pedals. That's why I asked about the Fanatec CSR Forza 4 wheel (not the Elite). thx.
@Mthoroughbred Yep no worries, things are really busy right now, at home. Got a few Uni deadlines to meet and still sorting out our house after our lighning strike. I'm hoping to be able to continue my vids and tests in the next couple of weeks. Unfortunatley the lightning fried my PS3 so I have no GT5 gamesaves, and even less enthusiasm to go through the grind again. But I WILL be getting on it soon and will do a thourough test.
That ACL is a bit of a cheat! At least pad users have to time a button press. Not sure I'd use it if it came to my Turbo S, not that I even have the game yet anyway. Keep up the good work.

what's difference to manual with cluth vs ACL ? i dont seem it is any faster than manual clutching and i dont find it realistic
