You got that right. DiC and Cloverway really punctured the ball censoring Amara and Michelle's homosexual relation, which may be one of the reasons why Naoko Takeuchi forced them to drop future airings the show. They may have done well with the music and voice cast, but when it came to the editing, they messed up, big time. DX

What I really loved about the way those two were displayed is how, although haruka is the more masculine one of the 2, it is always Michiru who puts herself and others in danger to protect Haruka. Also, she was the one to first fall in love and make the first move.

I just bought all the 200 episodes and 3 movies on Japan Import DVDs. They completely restored and reenhanced the sound and picture. Looks and sounds awesome. Also, the movies come included with the Specials included on the movie DVDs as a side option.
I like this updated version since it wasn't fair showing Stars when it was translated to English (pity I'd love to see just how they would attempt to cover up the "Kissing Cousins" relationship)
It's soooo stupid how the American version changed all the characters names to make them more "normal" and turned loves into "cousins" all just because they were two girls. America needs to grow up and realize that a tv show (or anything for that matter) can't "turn" someone gay! It's something that your born with.
On the name-changing part, I beg to differ - I see no reason to be incensed over that, since there are many other anime shows that had many people whose names had been changed in the English version of them. On the "normalizing" part, I agree with you, it's time for the overzealous Christians to grow a spine and understand that homosexuals are human beings, just like they are. I think kids could learn plenty from watching Sailor Moon, including tolerance towards homosexuals.

the english dub is where they are cousins. if you want their full relationship to be ou there then you have to go with the japanese sub ^^
usually when buying anime on dvds you can choose english/japanese on the dvd itself and end up getting both at the same time anyways :3

I just bought all the 200 episodes and 3 movies on Japan Import DVDs. They completely restored and reenhanced the sound and picture. Looks and sounds awesome. Also, the movies come included with the Specials included on the movie DVDs as a side option.

It's soooo stupid how the American version changed all the characters names to make them more "normal" and turned loves into "cousins" all just because they were two girls. America needs to grow up and realize that a tv show (or anything for that matter) can't "turn" someone gay! It's something that your born with.

On the name-changing part, I beg to differ - I see no reason to be incensed over that, since there are many other anime shows that had many people whose names had been changed in the English version of them. On the "normalizing" part, I agree with you, it's time for the overzealous Christians to grow a spine and understand that homosexuals are human beings, just like they are. I think kids could learn plenty from watching Sailor Moon, including tolerance towards homosexuals.
