Although TAi is our ancestors, but, The language is much leaning more toward Lao, because he seem to address himself as " Koiy or Jukoiy" meaning "I AM" or we are". Our ancestors also eat sticky rice.

He says 'Sa-wad-sa-dee', which is a Sanskrit word. In Thai, we say 'Sawasdee'. In Khmer, they way 'Sua-sa-dei'. Then he talks about the release of the new CD for Tai New Year. Later, he asks us not to buy pirated CDs (Sue Khong Tae), which are illegal. Don't help robber (Jone). This will encourage him to produce more of good pieces. Bla bla bla! something like that.

he say " Suwassadee - สวดสะดี" not "sabaidee"

and we say "Sawasdee - สวัสดี" in Thai

by the way, I belive that Tai, Thai, shan and Laos, is the same group of people.

@zhengming248 In tradtional Northern Thai language(Lanna) it's "suat sa dii" similar to what he says. :)

they say sabaidee too eh. i wonder if they eat khao-niew also. =) their language seems a lot more similar to Lao than Thai.

More Thai than Lao (well depends which part of Laos, but for sure similar to Northern Lao, but not Southern Lao). However, so similar to Thai especially Northern Thai like Tai Chieng Mai because it was established by Tai Sipsongpanna business men/women. Hint the name Chieng=City, Mai=New...New City haha

it was always similar to chieng mai not because of businessmen and women, but because it used to be LanNa kingdom, even before it became part of Siam. The people of LanNa (which translates to million rice fields) had close ties to SipsongpanNa (12 thousand rice fields) and LanXang (million elephants).

You're right! Thais and Laotians descended from Southern China's Yunnan Province. They are our ancestors and family. The "Tai" people are a very large group.
